Cuddy turns and leaves, sliding the door shut behind her. Wilson worries that the sound of them talking might have woken House up, but he’s still out like a light. Speaking of House—
House had been there the whole time. The last thing that he had said to Wilson was that he wouldn’t be there for the surgery. Had implied he wouldn’t be there for recovery, either. His reasoning had been sweet, in its own selfish, twisted way, but still. He had said he wouldn’t be there. And Cuddy was telling him that he hadn’t left his side.
He lies back down, exhausted from holding himself up on his elbows, and turns his head to look at House. He was gentler like this. They were both gentler, in these positions. It was not a gentle friendship, not a gentle life for either of them. He wishes it could stay like this for a little longer.
…Of course, that was a far-fetched dream. About thirty seconds later, House opens his eyes like a sleeper agent hearing the first warning shots of battle in Vietnam.

After the events of Part 3, and Mob pulls the trigger under his chin, that’s it. He’s dead. Like all the others, he’s gone. Somehow, dying in Minecraft meant dying in real life too, the consciousness of the player linked between reality and virtual reality.
In desperation, Verity codes Mob’s consciousness into Minecraft before he slips away, and against Mob’s will, he’s forced to live in Minecraft. With Verity.(Living in Minecraft yourself is so different from just playing it on a pc.)
(ps. In this fanfic, Verity was not passed onto the next player, this is because I was so in shock and distraught about the ending and was so desperate to have Mob and Verity together, either platonically, romantically or just together for their dynamics)

Maybe there was a god, and maybe he wanted House to meet those deep brown eyes and perfect cheekbones.
“I took care of it,” House said.
“Why?” he asked, sounding more annoyed than grateful.
“Why?” House repeated. He stopped and turned toward the man, did a onceover from head to toe. He then said, “I’m at a mind-numbingly boring conference. In the past 48 hours, you’re the only person here that’s kept my attention for longer than 30 seconds.”
The man raised an impossibly bushy eyebrow at him. “Are you hitting on me?”
