I’m so sorry Big Dubs, but I’ve got a giant, super important science project I’ve got to bullshit in the next twelve hours,” Tommy starts running around the house, hastily shrugging on a coat and grabbing his backpack, “If you called ahead I could’ve warned ya. Sorry man.”
“It’s- it’s okay,” Techno grits out.
His perfect planning, thwarted by a school project.
Tommy freezes, and quietly asks, “Wilbur, you won’t… leave again, right?”
Techno has spent the past days dedicated to perfecting his hunt, his record full of successes. He can't fail here, he's an apex predator not swayed by emotions or impulses.
“You’re not getting rid of me that easily," he smiles viciously.

Or, Techno is a monster who pretends to be Tommy’s brother so he can trick the kid into being his next meal. Somehow, he ends up caring for Tommy instead.

Tommy didn't mean to get lost.
He really didn't.
But now he's alone, in the dark, with his jacket barely providing him warmth against the cold nights windy air.
But.. This is fine, he's a big man. The biggest! Its probably only nine by now or something.
He'll be okay, he'll find home soon. Technos probably looking for him, maybe he called phil to let him know too. Unless he's busy, phils a big man who has a big man job at the hospital.
The wind is cold, biting, and.. Empty. As he slowly continued walking onto the now lifeless street. Where the only things to be seen are the broken and old lamp posts, candy wrappers littered around, and houses he walks past.
Somewhere beyond, an older brother is frantically searching for his missing runt.

He’d asked Emmy a little more about imaginary friends today. She didn’t really know why Tommy didn’t just show up when Techno thought about him, but Techno chalked it up to Tommy being built different.
“TOMMY!” Techno shouts when he walks into the house. Tommy appears from the hallway, grinning ear to ear when he spots Techno.
“TECHNO!”
It’s quite nice that Tommy likes Techno as much as Techno likes him. Imagine he had an imaginary friend that didn’t like him. That would probably suck.
