Summary
Rick Grimes is the premier "fixer" for the city’s elite, scrubbing away the sins of senators and CEOs. His son, Carl, is his shadow—a surgical instrument of a man who has never known a life outside the "Business." When a high-profile hit on a whistleblower goes sideways, they find themselves hunted by their own employers. Trapped in a high-octane game of survival, the professional boundaries between them dissolve into something far more visceral and dangerous.

Summary
Dad used to joke all the time that he'd have no problem with handcuffing Carl to the backseat of his car and dragging his ass to the police station or even put him behind the bars if he ever caught him doing something wrong, and while he consistently rolled his eyes at Dad’s empty threats to keep him in line, they'd still have a laugh about it. Ultimately, it was silly. Even if there was a little voice in the back of Carl's mind that would whisper to him that those threats were not that empty. Even if the idea of Dad telling him to put his hands behind his back whilst using his infamous cop voice and clad in his uniform made something hot stir at the pit of his lower stomach in a way Carl didn’t like to think about.
But Dad isn't laughing now.

Summary
“Paul,” Daryl snapped, slapping Paul across the face again.
Paul pushed his tongue around his mouth. It felt sluggish and too big for the space.
“Wake up. Say somethin’ you goddamn asshole!”
Paul could feel Daryl’s hands bunching in the wet fabric of his shirt. His mouth dropped open, and it felt too wet, too salty in a way that wasn’t entirely familiar. In contrast, his throat felt bone dry and raw. He coughed and grainy, salty water burst from his lips. He turned his head to the side, coughing salty water out onto the ground. Daryl’s hands were there, pressing stray strands of hair from his face, smoothing the wet hair back until Paul stopped retching and collapsed back onto the wet ground again.
“Hey there, sailor,” he said, blinking up at Daryl through bleary eyes. The words rasped out of his dry throat and slid off his moist tongue. “You looking for a good time?”

Summary
But then Paul just walked right up to it one day and stared it down, unshaken by the pathetic display of snarling and thrashing. And he took the fucking leash and patiently pulled, and started teaching it how not to bite, just 'cause he knew how. It started back at Sanctuary, with his left palm up to calm him down, while his right one stayed hidden, ready to strike if he snapped. Then it became a steady pattern when he was crashing down from his nightmares: left hand reaching out to comfort without touching, the other tucked away, tense, ready to hold him down. Occupying the space between his parted knees, only one hand tentatively on his chest, the other always lingering out of sight, until Daryl’s body would answer and relax under the touch.
Left hand up to sooth it, right hand prepared to tame.
Paul had recognized it for what it was and had never looked away, had never flinched since. Had never dismissed it and lowered his guard around it.‘You can’t hurt me, Daryl.’ He’d said that with a confidence that had felt downright arrogant, some old nights ago, in the silence before the war. Now, playing it back in his head, it sounded nothing more and nothing less than the raw truth.

Summary
What if Jesus had ended up at Woodbury instead of the Hilltop? What if he met the group at the prison in season 3?
__
Paul rounded the corner to the row of cells leading to the one he’d been locked in, only to find Daryl there, in the middle of the walkway, staring at the spot Paul was supposed to be. Paul stopped and took a bite out of the cookie in his hand. It was sweet and horribly stale. Hard as a rock, it crunched loudly when it broke under the force of his teeth.
Daryl’s head whipped around and their eyes locked. Paul watched in fascination as Daryl’s expression slipped quickly from surprise to anger, his face flushing red all the way down his neck. Paul took another almost painful bite of the cookie, crunching noisily while he chewed.
“The hell’re you doin’?”
“You didn’t leave me any food. I was hungry,” Paul said, raising what remained of the cookie in explanation. “I was coming back like a good prisoner.”
“Good prisoners don’t go walkin’ around the prison stealin’ shit.”
Paul hummed in thought. “I suppose it depends on how you define a good prisoner, doesn’t it?”
