“Is that why one of your friends called me your boyfriend?”
“He didn't.” Bobby looked scandalized. “I told them you were very private and didn’t want to talk about it.”
“Not in as many words, but the meaning was clear. And to be fair,” Warren said with a hint of mischief in his voice, “You live with an older man who doesn’t charge you rent, you eat all my food, and I’ve paid for half the clothes in your wardrobe that aren’t jeans and ratty t-shirts. For better or for worse, I am your sugar daddy.”
OR: After Bobby moves in with Warren, he learns a thing or two about his teammate.

Summary
Started out as one thought experiment about who the X-Men might be if Charles Xavier had not gone around scooping up teens and taking them off to mutant school. Or creeping on teenage Jean. Or faking his own death and leaving said teens on their own, or sending random teens to their death and we only find out about it decades later, or any other myriad of actions that have made him both a parental figure and also...kinda a source of their trauma. Starts with the formation of the first-gen X-Men, goes from there. Stories about people navigating their own extraordinary abilities, their lives, and institutional power structures when you have had to figure all that shit out on your own. Not explicitly retelling a set of canon stories, but trying to keep relative character ages/relationships in familiar territory.

A slight AU of episode 2 & 3, giving the Summers a month with their baby before Sinister arrives to steal him. IDK man that didn't look like a fresh baby to me have you seen those, they're like footballs. Logan-centric but the rest of the team makes an appearance. It takes a village to raise a child.
Jean wanted to be out of here before this happened, and he knows it. Everyone does. The baby’s supplies, each researched and carefully selected for safety and softness and stimulating growing senses, are all stacked neatly in Jean’s old bedroom, waiting for moving day. Time works like that, sometimes. Now they have a day at best before Scott and Jean come—well, not home, but here— with the baby. Nathan. There has to be a place for him. Maybe not a final nursery but something to hold them over, and maybe Logan would laugh a little watching a sleepless, exhausted Scott Summers try to put together baby furniture on two fifteen minute naps in 3 days but they’ll all have to live with the results.

During his time on Krakoa, Quentin Quire's had no friendships, one toxic relationship that fell apart, and a few dozen meaningless deaths (but who's counting?). So what's an Omega-level mutant and under-appreciated genius of his generation to do when the mutant paradise he was promised kinda sucks and is clearly about to fall apart?
That's easy: make like the old X-morons did in the 80's and 90's and go on the run. After all, nobody's pissing off to parts unknown to undergo a journey of self-disgust and guilt like they used to. Wait, what's that? It's supposed to be self-discovery and growth?
No, that's not really Quentin's style.
