You didn’t tell me that, Andrew,” Ivan intently looked down into the sink, focused on both his task and the conversation. The water was as cold as ice, burning, then numbing his skin the more it rinsed over him as he washed the bowl.
He could hear the mutter of surprise escape Andrew. “Ah shit, really? I didn’t see..”
“Wanted the hot water all to yourself, hm?” Ivan grinned, poking with his devil’s pitchfork at Andrew in a playful manner, but it came off more as passive-aggressive. To an outsider, anyway.
Andrew sputtered a bit. “Uh, n- no. Not at all.”
“I was joking, Andrew.”
“Oh. Haha.”
Andrew’s laugh was drier than a raisin in the sun.
