Summary
Hal Jordan was not expecting Batman to show up to this non-urgent Justice League meeting, not with Robin dead, and Batman grieving, waging war on Gotham itself. But he did show up, and of course, that’s when an unusual alien phases into the Watchtower, calls himself the ghost king, and reveals a government organization that’s trying to destroy all ghosts. Weird, but not too ridiculous for a superhero's life. Then the ghost king reveals he brought the ghost of a hero with him to prove his story, and Robin comes out from his cape. Now everyone in the watchtower is raring to destroy the GIW, and Batman is sobbing into Robin’s hair. Hal was definitely not prepared for this.

In general, people meet their soulmates when they’re teens or young adults, or over thirty in some cases; at least half of those people live a great distance from their fated ones, hence the feeling of cold, cold, cold that never really goes away. Of course, there are always lucky sods who are born with a slight warmth spread in their insides, who feel the comforting heat on the first day of kindergarten or school, or the first time they go to a playground. There are also some whose life is destined to be filled with thick sweaters and scarves; whose soulmates die before they have a chance to experience what it’s like to feel comfortable in winter climate.
