Derek was, for some reason, leaning over the bed Stiles was in and hovering directly over him. Stiles now realizes that the thing that tightened over his hand was definitely Derek’s hand. Holding his.
“What day is it?” Derek asks, still hovering uncomfortably over him. Not even unnecessarily uncomfortable for Stiles, though it definitely was a bit strange, but it just seemed an uncomfortable position for Derek to maintain.
“The 11th, I think,” he replies, though it’s honestly more of a guess. He’s not the best with keeping track of the date.
Derek’s face immediately seems to completely shift into pure relief, and it actually unsettles Stiles because he doesn’t think he’s ever seen the man so unburdened. He collapses down on top of him, though thankfully catches himself at the last moment so he doesn’t squish the man below. Derek buries his face in Stiles’ neck and seems content to just… stay there.

The woman in the classroom (the teacher, he realizes, only after seeing her name tag) stares at him just as hard as the seated students. She starts to speak, her mouth going too wide, and he braces himself before he notices that he’s doing it. Forces his shoulders to move down from their halfway point to his ears. “Damien al Jewel Wayne, right?” She has a smudge of red lipstick on her front tooth, and he is stuck staring at it. She repeats his name, which he doesn’t recognize as his name, then sticks her hand out. The only familiar word was ‘Wayne’.
Everyone is staring at him.

The team had transformed the lounge in the Cave into a nest of pillows, blankets, and mattresses. They all wore pajamas and had bowls of popcorn nestles precariously at intervals. M’gann was cuddled into Conner’s side, and he looked as relaxed and happy as they had ever seen him. Zatanna and Artemis had commandeered a mattress and were sitting in a tangle of limbs, giggling and throwing popcorn at each other. Robin, still wearing sunglasses, was sitting on another mattress, reclining, as a yellow and red blur surrounded him. Gradually, a fortress of pillows was building up around him as Wally worked his magic.
