Summary
Despite his breezy exterior, Noel is not doing well post-Dreamlands captivity. He has violent nightmares every night, he has no connections in New York, and for the past few years, he's been sleepwalking through life.
After Oscar wakes up alone and discovers Arthur missing from the Allan farmstead, he recruits Detective Noel for help in tracking him down. Noel is less than thrilled to be working with an alcoholic priest who should really be in the hospital, but remembering his promise to help Arthur, he agrees.
Despite a rocky start, Noel comes to find that there is more to Oscar than he previously expected: a strong moral core, a reckless bravery, and even a sly wit. Everything inside Noel has felt dead for so long - but there is something to Oscar's company and relentless support that makes Noel want to wake up.

Summary
After the events in Innsmouth, Arthur has been given a weighty sentence: Kayne, sending everyone he ever loved to the Dark World. Arthur flees Earth to do what he can. Though John is left behind, he vows to find him again. Arthur tries to save those he loves and a furious John tries to track him down, it becomes clear that fighting against an eldritch god is a game you're destined to lose - and it might not just be Arthur's loved ones who need saving.

Summary
At the lowest Arthur has ever been, Kayne offers a deal: John will be freed from the King in Yellow, but he will kill someone that Arthur loves.
It's not a difficult choice at all.Both men are transported to a lighthouse near Innsmouth, Massachusetts. Bizarrely, they seem to have gotten something else out of the deal: John has a body, and learning to cope with his newfound corporeality is more of a challenge than he realized. They try to find some small comfort with one another, even as the shadows of Innsmouth grow around them - until an impossible face comes to town and shatters their illusions of safety.
