Summary
A retelling of Mega Man X. First in the Variables series.
A hundred years have passed since the days of the Blue Bomber, and Dr. Light's legacy has become a legend. During a dig, Dr. Cain stumbles upon the last of Light's creations. A machine that goes by the title of "Mega Man X".
Before he knows it, X finds himself thrown into a world he does not understand, his design used to create a new line of machines entirely. These fully conscious, sentient mechanical beings are known as Reploids.
But the future takes a turn for the worse, and some Reploids begin attacking humans. This new "maverick" behavior led to the creation of an organization dedicated to dealing with these random attacks. This organization became known as the Maverick Hunters.
When the leader of the Hunters, Sigma, rebels and declares war on the humans, he must rise up and use his buster. Even if he despises violence, he must take part in this conflict to save the world.
Because there is no one else that can.

After the incident at Jakob Tower and Lumine, Maverick Hunter HQ has been on their toes trying to keep the peace. Records of the tower and even Lumine's creator were mysteriously wiped after the incident leaving more questions and outrage than answers.
A year has passed since and humans have demanded the hiring and reproduction of new Gen reploids despite HQ's protests and warnings.
Our story mostly follows the curious new Reploid named Nala, the recently hired engineer who works under Douglas for the Maverick Hunter HQ in Abel City. As she works and discovers the secrets about our world it leaves others questioning her and who she really is. As Everyone prepares for whatever is coming next, Lumine's words still echo in the Hunter's ears.
