Summary
A Terran researcher is abandoned and alone on a derelict ship orbiting a neutron star. Scrambling for her last breaths, something stranger pulls her out of certain oblivion.
Even while she witnesses a beneficent fate fall upon humanity, she's turned back to her special interest, pressed to pursue it. Much the same, she becomes the special interest, pressed by pursuit.
The deeper she is pulled in, the more her world expands. Familiarity with the unfamiliar. Songs in her heart she's never heard before. Words she cannot speak. Love and sorrow for those she's never met. A feeling that she loses and gains her true self simultaneously.
