Summary
Having turned himself over to the Boston police force out of guilt, Levi faces his sins, relives the war, and is forced to admit the falsehood behind all of the lies he'd been living. With the help of an intrusive old friend and several of his favorite pieces of literature, he lives out his new life in prison, helping the police break down the activities of rival gangs to pass the time, and wondering if he will ever be able to forgive himself.
