“What do you sense, Stiles?” Claudia asked, her voice as soft as a wolf’s footstep.
The boy blinked once, twice, and thrice before answering. “A girl,” He whispered, “A girl who can hear everything.” He turned to look at her, and Claudia started, seeing tears run down his face. “She’s so scared, Mommy.”
“Oh, my baby,” Claudia murmured, reaching up to wipe his tears away. “It’s just a dream, sweetheart.” He nodded slowly, leaning into her touch. A moment later, he slumped against her, sleeping deeply as she held him.
