Summary
Neil had obliviously tumbled around the topic of Andrew's attraction towards him, for quite a while, and Andrew knew that it was a matter of time that someone would point to it so bluntly that Neil would be unable to overlook it. Honestly, Andrew was surprised it had taken so long. Andrew knew Neil would demand answers eventually and judging by the tone of Neil's voice, that moment had apparently arrived.
It was no secret, and besides, it wouldn’t lead to anything anyway. Andrew decided he might as well get it over with, so he lifted his gaze up to meet Neil's glare.

Summary
“I haven’t had a home since my parents died,” Neil finished, his hand had clenched up, and then his head came up, meeting Andrew’s gaze, and there it was, that look on Neil’s face.
The look that burned its way right through all of Andrew’s defenses. The look that made him hope for something he could never have. The look, that said Neil saw something in him that he couldn’t be. The look that made him want to try anyway.
Andrew’s fingers closed around Neil’s cheek to push his face away, unable to look at him any longer, he said. “Don’t look at me like that. I am not your answer, and you sure as fuck aren’t mine.”
“I’m not looking for an answer. I just want–” there was a desperation to Neil’s words, to the movements of his hands, as he gestured them through the air around him, in search of the thing he couldn’t name. Andrew got it, he did. Still searching for whatever it was that was missing, unable to tell what exactly it was that would fix him.
“I’m tired of being nothing,” he ended up saying, and Andrew felt his heart sink.
