Summary
During the Clone Wars, demoted Jedi Salera Zal is given charge of Clone Force 99. After helping Captain Rex rescue his ARC Trooper Echo on Skako Minor, the half-droid trooper joins her squad. Echo quickly falls for the woman who saved his life and the two begin to cross the line of friendship. Tasked with a new mission to the planet of Ursano, she is forced to work with the pretentious Commander Wolffe. Now, the respected Wolfpack commander's world is turned upside-down as the no nonsense officer is caught off guard by the unconventional Jedi. Immediately, the fiery Jedi begins to struggle to adhere to the rules of attachment, as the contrasting personalities of the two clones cause her heart to be pulled into two drastically different directions, changing her path forever.
"In his peripheral, he could see Salera turn to look at the side of his face. She was only inches away and he felt her eyes examine and dissect him. Commander Wolffe gave her time until he turned to look at her. For a moment, it was as though the room was silent, except he thought he could hear the thumping beat of his own heart. After Commander Wolffe’s meddling triggers the leader of Clone Force 99 to be stripped of her squad, Jedi Salera Zal is reassigned to Commander Cody and the 212th. Immediately, she starts her new role as partner to Captain Gregor and the pair travel the galaxy together on one dangerous mission after the next, eventually forming an incredible bond of friendship. A friendship that Commander Wolffe begins to despise and the inexperienced lover quickly becomes violently jealous of his best friend and the woman he loves. Are Wolffe’s suspicions truly unfounded?
