“All those questions I’m sure you have.” Akechi leaned forward. “Need me to make it easy for you? Here. Yes, I am alive. I have no idea how or why, but I am. I have not contacted you because I’ve been rather busy since that revelation, and besides that, I simply didn’t want to. Though I guess I was playing with fire coming here.”
“Coffee’s worth it,” Akira replied simply, and Akechi stared at him incredulously.
“That’s all you have to say? Seriously?”
It wasn’t. Far from it. He’d thought of a million impossible things he wanted to say to Goro Akechi over the past two years, but he was never much of a talker. So he was content with this. He had planned to let Akechi tell him what he wanted to, at his own pace, and, well, he was doing that, so there was no need to push.
Akira shrugged. “It’s good to see you,” he added.
