butterflies had always been sort of special to him, a symbol of life and rebirth amongst other positive meanings, however they were also a symbol for those passing on from this world, carrying the souls of the deceased with them
soap was someone who breathed new life into everything around him, ghost was someone who snuffed that life out

“The butterfly is a Red Admiral, hope, resilience, freedom, liberation from the convention. Camelia is love, affection, and admiration, pink specifically for longing. Hyacinth represents a Greek hero that died fighting for the two gods that loved him, Apollo and Zephyr. Purple for sorrow, forgiveness and regret.” The top layer of the second skin is peeled off, the skin being softly rubbed into his arm, making sure it lives up to its name. “Mourning something I know I can never have but still yearn for it, it’s died already in my heart and I’ll never be free from it, not really at least. Back of my arm so I’ll never have to look at it and be reminded.”
