A moment of thoroughly unimpressed silence. “Your wings are bleeding, sir.”

It felt like his wings would be ripped out, or give, or tear, – he thought he could feel them quivering. He thought he could feel his heartbeat pulsing against the skin there. They were caught on something, too, a sharper edge, he wouldn’t have been surprised if something was bleeding or broken or –
But there was no time to focus on the pain, and if there was one thing that Obi-Wan could do, it was ignoring it and just pulling up.
“Hold on,” he told him, and he could only hope Cody heard it, through the roaring of the wind outside and Obi-Wan’s gritted teeth. “I won’t let you fall, Cody, hold on.”

Summary
He’d not thought of reading about his General’s species when he first stepped into the Archives, but now he couldn’t imagine stepping away from the possibility, realizing he truly was incorrigibly curious about all of it. About why his General did the things that he did, about certain mannerisms or things that he mentioned and Cody couldn’t truly grasp the point of.
He wanted to know more – had always been overtaken with the genuine desire to know more, ever since he’d first seen him. When he’d seen his wings spread and carrying him up with the wind, when he’d plucked the blood feather from the wound in Kenobi’s skin, when they’d both crashed into the ground, Cody saved from certain death only by his General’s grip on him and the blanket of the air beneath his wings…
