Summary
In 1775, Alfred joins up with Benedict Arnold's force for a sneak attack on British-held Canada, hoping to free the Canadiens from British control so that Matthieu & the Canadiens can be free to choose their own destinies.. though preferably they'd choose to become part of the union. Even though the other branch of the army is off to a promising start, Alfred has forgotten two things: winter protects Canada, and December is closing in.

Summary
Even though Britain (and especially Governor Guy Carleton) had made concessions to Canada to try and keep its colonists happy between the Conquest & the American Revolution, the colony was fairly ambivalent about the rebellion - some people supported it, others didn't, and many more were neutral. Have some Matthieu being indecisive and the governor long-suffering.
(If you don't know much about the American invasion of Quebec in 1775-6, this will probably make more sense if you read Invasion/Liberation first.)

Remember that note about Quebec being split into two halves in 1791? Yeah. Arthur finds out that splitting a colony into a French piece and an English piece has, once again, brought about two more personifications. Headcanon ahoy, and short scene is short.
