Oh my gosh, I love this!!!!! It's heartbreaking in the best way! You conveyed Rumi's feelings really well and I think you touched upon a relevant detail: That they didn't actually know each other that well. I mean, the audience kind of takes it as a given that they would have become a couple but honestly, we have no idea if they would have worked out as a couple. Still, her grief is so devastating and realistic!
Derpy being the emotional support tiger is something I didn't know I needed but very welcome nonetheless. He's so cute! I'm sure Mira and Zoey (especially Zoey!) will be happy to adopt him <3

Firstly, I agree that it is too often overlooked how little they knew each other. They only met two times where they didn't fight: once, when Rumi gave Jinu the bracelet and the other time, when they sang free. All the other times there was a fight.
Secondly, regarding Derpy: At first, I kind of wanted him to be a little dum and just be an excuse for Rumi to start working through her grief, but then he just started doing things😂😭
And I may already have two more fanfics in planning...
