Comment on Not the Worst Step-Dad in the History of Everything

  1. Very well-executed, especially the differences in how Mike and Harvey deal with Hunter. The romance comes out of the blue at the end, but in a way that makes a certain sense, as Mike had proven what he would do for both Harvey and Hunter.

Thank you! I really wanted to show the way they would be very different (and complimentary) styles of parents to any kid, but especially a sort of genius and wounded kid like Hunter. I will give you that Harvey eventually putting a move on Mike is a biiit fast and loose, but I definitely intended to suggest that Harvey's been thinking about/considering Mike in a romantic context and was using the chance the science fair provided to 'play gay' with Mike. The final scene/epilogue was two years in the future, though, so I'd hoped to show a 'and they all work out well' epilogue rather than leave it at them intending to give it a go.
