Summary
Conrad Anderson was born with the innate ability to read human souls, a trait he has successfully suppressed for over a decade - until the first day of his internship with the Detroit Police Department. He and his supervisor are assigned to a missing person's case, one officer Gavin Reed, believed to have been abducted in the dead of night. Within minutes of arriving at the first crime scene of his career, Conrad encounters the disembodied soul of the missing officer, placing him in the unique and challenging position of finding Gavin's body while remaining within the bounds of the law and of the fraught relationship he shares with his father, Hank. Summary
It’s only now, in the absence of his footsteps beating steadily against the forest floor, that he notices the eerie silence lingering in the air around him. The area feels charged, the atmosphere heavy and thick like the moment before a lightning strike. Gavin inhales sharply as the cloying cloak of anger tightens around him like a noose. When he finally scrounges up enough will to move his head to look, he quickly finds himself choking on the static-filled air.

Injured and weak Gavin is running for his life, and finds salvation coming from an unexpected source. Wrongs can be righted if offered a second chance, friendships struck between the most unlikely of allies. The nagging thought of whether he's on the right side of a silent conflict makes him question where his loyalties lie especially with the conundrum that is Nines. On the one hand gentle and caring and on the other not afraid to do whatever is necessary to protect his domain.As the two grow closer, Nines questions the fairness of the choice he presented to Gavin. Guilt might just be enough to set him free.

It doesn’t make sense. He used to know how to pick up chicks as easily as breathing, and now he doesn’t even need to do that. He’s lost his touch, which is a damn shame, all things considered. He always thought he’d be good at this. He was attractive, charming, funny - all things that should be helping him get laid regularly. But now that it’s his damn job, he can’t seem to get lucky.
And that’s another thing, right? He thought being an incubus meant having a natural skill at getting people into bed with him. Comes with the title, right? Apparently not, as Gavin has learned the hard way. Not everyone wants to drop everything to sleep with him just because he’s hot. Maybe there’s something wrong with his tactics, as he ends up with a handprint on his face more often than not.

Summary
Nines is an agent for Cyberlife, sent into the Village to scope out the possibility of a giant biological anomaly. However, his mission is cut short when he finds himself at a seemingly abandoned factory at the edge of the woods.
The trouble with being an android is that he is easily controlled and contained by the strange mutant who resides in the factory's walls. However, Nines starts to learn that there is a distinct kind of freedom available to him while he's in captivity, and he starts warming to the disturbed young man who seems just as trapped as Nines is.
