Summary
Vecna has been defeated and reduced to dust, but his death came with a price. Max is alive and well, but Eddie Munson has died shortly after giving the most metal concert Hawkins has ever seen.
Steve Harrington is trying to get his life back on track, but his sleep disorders have returned. Robin is doing her best to help him, but Steve feels like he's slowly drowning in guilt and nightmares.
One night, Dustin Henderson shows up on his doorstep, claiming that Eddie is alive and needs their help. A little trip to the Upside-Down could be the beginning of a new adventure for Steve. -

Steve couldn’t hate Chrissy for it, though, couldn’t even dislike her at all. How could he? She saw Eddie's charm and big, brown eyes, the same as Steve, and from what he knew, she treated him well.

“For the sleeping thing- I get it. I really do. So you’re gonna get in my car and you’re gonna sleep in my guest room until you look more like a person and less like a Night of the Living Dead character.” Steve said, a tone of finality in his voice.
“Steve, man, I couldn’t ask you to do that.” Eddie said.
“Good thing you’re not asking. This is what we do, we take care of each other. Because if we don’t, nobody else will.” Steve said.
Or: Eddie has nightmares, Steve has a sexuality crisis, and while they’re busy co-parenting some freshman kids, their unlikely friendship begins to turn into something more.

Summary
Steve and Eddie were always the perfect goalie tandem. Their friendship on and off the ice made them the best. When Steve suffers a career-ending injury less than a year into their NHL debut, he has to give up more than just his goalie pads.
Nine years later, Steve’s daughter, Rory, wants to be a goalie just like he was. He thought the hardest thing he’d have to face was the practice schedule, or the price tag, or missing work for tournaments.
None of that was nearly as hard as facing Eddie again.

But then Eddie saw a whole pile of kids get in Harrington’s car, and he overheard Nancy Wheeler say that “Steve was babysitting,” and that image didn’t even remotely align with anything Eddie knew about King Steve “The Hair” Harrington, but he figured he didn’t know much, anyway, and it wasn’t any of his business, when it came down to it.
Eddie thought so little of it, in fact, that he had almost forgotten that Max had apparently been babysat by one Steve Harrington. That is, until Steve Harrington started showing up at the trailer park, picking up Max and driving away, and then Eddie wouldn’t see Max at home again for days on end.
Eddie didn’t know much about babysitting, but he was pretty sure the gigs were more of an hourly thing.
