Kacchan was still there of course, looming in the background, but the other bullies were front and center, watching him with disgusted sneers.

When Aizawa erases Izuku's quirk during the ball throw, he does it to keep the problem child from breaking any more bones. What he doesn't know is that he accidentally causes the boy to remember his quirkless trauma. Now he and Izuku must deal with the fallout.

“Izuku,” Shouto says, seriously, taking subtle pride in the way that he’s allowed to use Izuku’s given name.
Izuku looks up from his own notebooks (that Shouto might have taken inspiration from) to look at Shouto, eyes wide like they almost always are. “Yes, Shou-chan?” The other replies, and Shouto feels a wave of affection wash over him at the nickname - a sudden want to take Izuku away and make sure that no one can ever hurt him. It’s not an unusual feeling. Shouto seems to feel that sort of emotions around his closest friends a lot nowadays.
“Date me.”
Izuku blinks. “I- What?”
…Maybe Shouto should have phrased that better.

So it seems that the true initiation to the Dekusquad is to… enable the fake dating polycule with the main purpose of pissing off Endeavour and secondary purpose of making a profit off the bets surrounding their speculated romantic relationships?

Summary
There are a few things you can't escape when you have a childhood friend no matter how close you are. These are funny anecdotes, nicknames, blackmail and a bond that comes with a certain level of familiarity that only comes from knowing someone their while life whether you wanted to or not. Bakugo and Midoriya aren't special - they have avoided none of these no matter how much Katsuki tries to deny the bond that they share.
This is something that class 1a comes to find out as the powerful, problem pair drop nicknames, stories and show their familiarity with the other without realising that's kinda what they're doing.
