Summary
Perhaps they fit, in an odd way. Neither of them was exactly what they were supposed to be, but their idiosyncrasies complimented each other. For the first time in years, Jungkook woke up eager for the day. A tiny, precious hope glimmered at the back of his mind that maybe, given enough time, if things continued the way they were, he and Yoongi could build something together.
They were not magically perfect for each other. There were a fair amount of awkward moments as well: a stare that lasted just a bit too long; an avenue of conversation that one of them wasn’t willing to pursue; a moment when Jungkook woke up from a nightmare to a panicked vampire and panicked himself in return. It was nothing so easy as perfection.
But it was real and growing. They cultivated their future together.

“Tomorrow?”
“Tomorrow,” Yoongi agreed before diving down, leaving Taehyung with the last image of his tail flicking up and a spray of water glistening in the setting sunlight. For a long time, Taehyung stared at the place where Yoongi had disappeared. When he’d awoken after their first meeting, he’d been convinced it was all a dream but now he knew it wasn’t and that thought made him giddy.
He couldn’t wait for tomorrow.
