He was in one of his low points, which is what his therapist called his “episodes”. He’d be doing just fine and then, boom! Guess who’s gonna be randomly suicidal for a few weeks?

That wasn’t something that eased Gon’s nerves in the slightest. "Yeah, you can ask me anything, Killua."
"I don’t want this to sound weird but," he trailed off as if he was unsure with his phrasing or if it would make sense. Then, with a sure finality he looked straight into Gon’s eyes, blue eyes piercing his, and asked, "who the hell are you?"
What was Gon supposed to say to that? Maybe he was worse at pretending to be his younger self than he thought.
(Or: One wish sends Gon's life back into a frenzy, giving him the chance to figure out how to prevent Killua from being murdered. As he flip flops between the past and the present, it becomes evidently clear that Killua's death wasn't so black and white.)

“Killua, what the fuck is going on?” Alluka asked, but he couldn’t bring himself to respond, even to tell her to mind her language.
Gon had the audacity to look fucking perplexed, as if the reason should have been the most obvious thing in the world, “Um,” he tilted his head to the side, a habit that he had carried since before Killua had even met him, “Stealing? Same as you?”
