“My perfect cute little tomato,” Ilya coos in Russian, curling his free hand around Shane’s warm cheeks.
Shane glowers at him. Then, he flicks his gaze downwards to Ilya’s lips. Ilya watches Shane battle internally on whether or not to kiss him. Seeming to have forgotten that they are in his living room and he can kiss Ilya whenever he wants.
The rain moves faster, crescendoing, and making the lamp lit room feel smaller and warmer.

"Today is… is weird day.” Another pause, long enough to make Shane wonder if he should speak this time, but Ilya continues eventually. “Is anniversary of mama's death.”
"Oh, Ilya,” he says now, the words coming out soft and hesitant. “I didn't know, I'm so sorry. Are you okay?" He grimaces, really wishing he was better at this. "Sorry, stupid question."
It draws a chuckle from Ilya, the familiar sound immediately making warmth spread in his chest.
