The Letters

Chapter Text

Cas stood behind with Adam and Andrea as they waited for the arrival of the soldiers that have made the country proud even without getting any awards of recognition for it. Oh, but Cas will reward his husband, he will give his husband everything he could, he was ready to bleed for the man who was ready to bleed for his country.

The truck came to a stop and soldiers filed out marching towards them before they stood at attention and saluted. Bobby yelled proudly "I congratulate you all for finishing operation Hell Crusade. I'm proud of you all for giving your life and blood for this soil. For this, I salute you" and then everyone stood at attention and saluted, Cas put a hand over his heart like the two beside him.

Then they were dispersed, he waited with a bated breath for his husband, walking to run and hide at the same time. His legs were plastered to the ground, he saw Benny coming towards them with an arm around a taller and broader man with a beard. He frowned then looked behind them if he could see anything, he swallowed there was no sign of Dean.

He was going to start crying again when the man with Benny came to stand in front blocking his sight. He was going to growl at the man to get out of his way when he noticed the impossible green eyes staring at him with mixed feelings, it held pain, fondness, surprise, everything at once.

With a surprised gasp he jumped on the man's shoulder trapping him in a hug, he teared up "Dean." He felt lips encased with beard nuzzling his uncovered crevice of shoulders as the man rumbled "Cas." Then he chuckled "Or should I call you Prince Clarence?"

He moved away from the man stunned by the revelation that Dean knew, "How?" The blonde beared man just smirked at him cunnigly as he said "That is a story for another time. For now I need to ask you something." Cas let a small whine when Dean let go off him but the soldier just hit his cheek softly with a closed fist as he backed away then kneeled making him stare at man wide eyed.

Dean spread his arms wide and asked loudly "Prince Clarence, will you marry me?" The green never strayed away from him as Cas laughed through his tears and moved to kneel infront of the soldier cricling his arms around the strong shoulders as he exclaimed "How many more times you want me to say yess???"

"Until I finally see you on that white robe you talked about" Dean rumbled in his ear holding onto him tightly like he would either away in the man's hands without his knowledge. He said smiling "Then consider it done, Lieutenant. I will marry you."

Dean's arms tightened around him more as if they could have as they leaned their foreheads on each other. Cas ran his hand on the soldier's beard as he said "I see you have evolved into a grizzly." The fond glare than passed on his soldier's face made him breath in relief, Dean was here, with him, safe and sound. The blonde growled teasingly "Careful Prince, I might devour you." Cas bit his lip and replied instensely "You should."

Dean stood at the front aisle in his Army Uniform, his beard shortened to a stubble. The wedding was getting held in the outdoors as Cas had wanted, overlooking the beautiful mountains from where a passing train could be seen. The brunette had chosen the place just at the sight of the train and Dean couldn't say no after that.

His brother, Sam and Benny was beside him heads turned away from each other as they have fought tooth and nail to be the best man, Benny saying he should be the one since he had searched through a whole train for Castiel while Sam said he should be the one because he had searched a whole town for Castiel. At the end, he had just shrugged and made Charlie the best 'man'. Both of the men were now looking at the girl with disdain while she grinned wiggling her eyebrows.

Music started flowing through and Dean smiled when he saw Cas walking down the aisle. He couldn't see the brunette because of the drop red vile he was wearing getting accompanied by Jess, Dean felt a little guilty because Cas' brother still wouldn't accept him but the man had shouted back that he would choose to die then leave Dean. He had been stunned by the words and  the loyalty he saw in Cas' eyes for him. He had made sure to make up to the beauty later on how much he loved him and he will make sure to hold up to the honour and loyalty Cas gave to him.

And fuck, Cas really looked breathtaking in the white robe covered in beautiful intricate designs that Andrea had put there herself. His one hand was holding on to a bouquet that consisted of the same flowers he had given the man on the day of his concert.

He held his hand out smiling as Jess put Cas' red dyed hand in his, his BJ gave him a threat, smirking "Any harm that comes to him, I will cause you worse, Dīr." He snorted with Cas and tightened his hand "Don't worry Jess. I will treat him like the Prince he is."

He chuckled when the brunette playfully elbowed him. Cas hated being called Prince Clarence and has changed his name to Castiel legally with Jess' help. Without waiting a beat, he immediately went to uncover the vile. His eyes caught in fond oceanic blue ones and the gummy smile widening on the face. Dean put a hand over his heart then fell back fainting with a blissed sigh, his best men and woman caught him and threw him back up grinnung while Cas let out a bark of laughter along with everyone.

He took both of the brunette's hands in his and nuzzled the man's nose with his "You look an angel." Cas flushed preetily shaking his head as he tipped at him with a pursed smirk "No, you look like an angel since angels are soldiers."

He moved to press his lips to Cas but the echoing cough from around them stopped him. "Atleast finish your vows first." The pastor said glaring at them while the couple nodded turning red, they turned to the Pastor, Jim who started reading from his books.

He made sure to pass smirks, winks and smiles at Cas who glared at him with an annoyed purse of lips to hold himself from grinning, the Pastor asked "Do you Dean Winchester take Castiel to be your husband?" Dean winked at Cas again who hid his face behind his bouquet "I do."

"Do you Castiel take Dean Winchester to be your husband?" Cas passed him a considering look while he made puppy dog eyes at him, pressing a smile the man nodded "I do."

"By the power of God I me, I declared you both husbands. You may now kiss." The Pastor sighed exasperated at the end, watching the couple infront of him keep teasing each other and trying to see who can make whom more shy.

Dean didn't need to be told twice as he took hold of Cas's waist and pulled him into his arms into a steering kiss, feeling Cas' hands hugging his shoulders meeting him with a same temptation as cheers resounded around them. Parting Cas whispered "I love you." Dean kissed the man again as he said "I love you too, Cas."

At the reception, when it came for the dance of the groom's. Dean had made all the arrangements to have the right music. He brought Cas to the stage holding his hand in a gentle grip before finally turning the man to be across from him. He brought his hand up with a bow, making Cas put his hand over his mouth as he grinned at him then took his hand with a bow of his own.

When Ladyfingers flowed through Cas' eyes turned soft as his face took a fond look "Dean..." He said with a endearing breath, he smiled and put his right hand on Cas' shoulder blade making the brunette also put his hand over his arm just below his shoulder as they started moving around the stage.

Cas smiled at him while he shied away at the look of sincere fondness in Cas' eyes. It wasn't long before the whole stage was filled up but they didn't let go, his hands have now slid to the small of Cas' back while the brunette had interwined to his neck, his ear pressing up to his chest. They moved together in the small space with the crowd with nothing on mind except each other, moving with the beat of the music.

Cas cried out arching at the strecher beneath him as his baby tried to rip through his stomach by this time but there was still no sign of Dean. The doctors have already taken him to the Operation Theatre saying they can't wait too long or there would be danger to his life also.

He had growled at Sam if his brother didn't show up in 2 minutes then he doesn't need to show up ever again. He felt guilty of shouting like that, it wasn't Sam's fault or even Dean's but he was pregnant, so he will get everything he wants. And right now, he wants his husband.

The light switched on above him as his eyelids grew heavy with a pain and exhaustion, sweat dabbing at his whole body. A cesarean will be performed to get the baby out, he felt the jab of needle before his eyes grew heavier but not before he registered the comforting hand of his husband on his forehead making him smile sleepily.

When he woke up later, he noticed the IV attached to him and that his stomach no longer felt like balloon. He woke up with his eyes blurry and started to look around for his baby but sighed when he found the most adorable sight ever, folding his arms beneath his head he turned to his right side and watched Dean make faces at the pink blanket in his hands, they had a daughter. He knew how much Dean had wanted their first to be a girl, though he had promised he would love his son as much.

"Aren't you the cutest thing, ever? Only second to your Papa." Cas let out a snort at the words attracting the attention of his husband who grinned at him as he said to the baby "Ah, your Papa's up."

He sat up on the bed as Dean brought up the baby to his chest, he noticed that the soldier was still in his military uniform. He made space so Dean could sit beside him as he looked at his baby girl, he said "She has your hair."

Dean nodded smugly "I have awesome hair she had to take it." He giggled at his husband bumping his head to the chin lightly "No need to get jealous babe, she had stolen your eyes too." He turned to look at the baby surprised and found out with a gasp as wide blue eyes looked up at him with small mouth opening and closing like a fish. He said caressing her cheeks "She is a perfect mixture of us."

Dean nodded and kissed the side of his head before he bumped the baby girl on the nose with a grin "That is all you." He giggled at the grinning soldier, he couldn't believe how he had gotten so lucky to deserve man like Dean. He asked lounging back into Dean's arm and chest "Have you decided on a name yet?"

He undid his hospital gown to feed the baby looking up at Dean who kissed him in the lips and said "Thank You." Cas didn't need to ask why as he averted his eyes with a blush then directed pushing a finger on the man's nose scrunching it weirdly "A name. Husband mine."

"I was thinking of Claire."

Even though it sounded funny, he heard it and looked at the man shocked "Claire?" Dean nodded as he ran his hand through Cas' "Yeah" Biting his lower lip the brunette looked at the his baby girl with a smile, then glanced back at Dean "Claire."

They both turned to the baby and said together "Claire!!" Blue eyes glanced at them then turned back busy with eating then focusing on her parents, "She likes it." Dean confirmed smiling.

Dean couldn't be more thankful for the day he had saved Cas or the days that came after that, the brunette gave him the reason to breathe again. Before he was walking through life carelessly with nonchalance but Cas made him become better and more vigilant. It has helped him gain his rank to a Major now. Dean thought love was just a consuming power that left you empty but it wasn't, it was the power which made you want to be a better person. He kissed Cas' forehead again as they looked down at Claire.

"So, when do I get a turn?"

"Dean!!"
