Work Text:

When Jeongguk gets home from work, the apartment is too quiet, too empty. He hated being alone. He hated it even more when it was Yoongi who had left him alone. Not that Yoongi had a choice, he had to go away for some work thing. And well, Jeongguk hasn’t told him how he feels. He hasn’t told Yoongi that he’s become home for him, that he’s become his safe space.

He hasn’t told him he was in love with him.

Jeongguk was too scared to ruin the friendship, to have everything they’ve built together come crumbling down. He wasn’t ready for that, so instead he kept quiet and took what he could. What he got was nights on the couch watching TV as Yoongi’s delicious scent filled Jeongguk’s senses, putting him at ease. He got Yoongi fussing over how much Jeongguk eats, putting more food on his plate after saying he doesn’t eat enough. What he got was an alpha that no one else will ever be able to live up to; Yoongi ruined Jeongguk for everyone else in the universe.

Jeongguk dumps his work bag on his desk and stares at his nest. He feels finicky, today hadn’t been the best day. He wants nothing more than to cuddle up with Yoongi’s scent and sleep. But he doesn’t want to do it here, in his own room, in his own bed. He can smell Yoongi from his own bedroom that is just down the hall, and he allows it to lead him. The closer he gets to Yoongi’s room the calmer he feels. Because Yoongi’s scent is more than just comforting to Jeongguk, it smells like home.

He peeks into the room and sees Yoongi’s freshly made bed. The white sheets and white comforter look so warm and inviting. Before he can form a complete thought, Jeongguk walks back into his room and grabs his blankets from his own bed and marches into Yoongi’s room.

He drops them on the bed and gets to work, arranging the pillows and blankets to just his liking. His omega gets calmer the longer he does it until his nest is perfectly set up. He removes his clothes and grabs a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie out of Yoongi’s dresser, taking a huge whiff of them before putting them on and crawling into the bed. He curls on his side, allowing Yoongi’s scent to take over and plays on his phone until he finally feels settled, until he finally feels calm.

He knows he shouldn’t be here. It’s not exactly considered okay to nest in an alpha’s bed that isn’t your mate, but he figures what Yoongi doesn’t know won’t hurt him. And if he does say anything, Jeongguk will just say he was drunk.

Jeongguk doesn’t realize he’s fallen asleep until he wakes up slowly. Yoongi’s scent is stronger than ever and smells so content. Jeongguk just feels warm and comfortable, especially with the person pressed up against his back.

Wait…

Jeongguk’s eyes fly open and he turns his head as best he can without waking the person behind him.

Yoongi.

What was he doing home? Why didn’t he wake up Jeongguk? Jeongguk tries to move, but Yoongi’s hold tightens and pulls him closer.

“Morning,” Yoongi says into Jeongguk’s hair, his voice low and gravely. Yoongi’s scent shifts a bit now that he’s awake, but there’s no sense of anger or annoyance. If anything, it’s the happiest he’s ever smelled.

“Hyung?” Jeongguk keeps his head turned to try to look at him. Yoongi’s hold loosens, so Jeongguk turns his body around so they’re fully facing each other. Yoongi has a small smile on his lips while he tries to open his eyes. Clearly he’s still sleepy. “You should’ve woken me up.”

“Why? You were sleeping so good,” Yoongi says as he pushes a piece of Jeongguk’s hair behind his ear. It feels so domestic, so intimate as they lay in Yoongi’s bed.

“I didn’t mean to fall asleep, I’m sorry. I know I shouldn’t have nested in your bed without asking first but I–” Jeongguk is cut off by Yoongi putting his finger on his lips. He then moves his hand so it’s cupping Jeongguk’s cheek, Yoongi’s thumb rubbing the sensitive skin on his face.

“Does it mean what I think it means?” Yoongi is searching Jeongguk’s eyes as if he’ll find the answer there.

“What do you think it means?” Jeongguk whispers, scared that if he speaks too loud he’ll wake up; because this has to be a dream. The way Yoongi is touching him as if he’s something precious, the way he’s looking at him as if Jeongguk is the only person in the world that exists.

“I’ve never known an omega to nest in alpha’s bed unless…” Yoongi’s voice fades off.

“Unless what?” Jeongguk needs to hear him say it. He needs to know this isn’t just something he’s made up in his head, that Yoongi is actually saying what he thinks he’s saying.

“Unless it was more than just platonic.”

Jeongguk can smell the nerves in Yoongi’s scent now, can see it in his eyes, can feel it in the way he begins to pull his hand away as if he’s made Jeongguk uncomfortable. This makes Jeongguk panic.

“Hyung,” it’s Jeongguk’s turn to cup Yoongi’s cheek. It’s time to be brave. It’s time for Jeongguk to openly admit what he’s been feeling for months. “It’s exactly what you think it means.”

“Yea?” the sides of Yoongi’s lips begin turning upwards to form a smile.

“Yea.” Jeongguk smiles as he brings their foreheads together and closes his eyes to let the happiness in Yoongi’s scent take over him.

“Do you always nest in my bed when I’m not home?”

Jeongguk doesn’t answer, instead he brings their lips together for a soft kiss.

“Why are you home?” Jeongguk finds himself asking.

“They decided they could handle the meetings without me, and I’m so glad they did,” Yoongi pulls Jeongguk closer to him.

“So what now?” Jeongguk asks, unable to wipe the smile from his face.

“Now, we cuddle.”

And Jeongguk was fine with that.

Notes:

I just really love Jeongguk nesting in Yoongi's bed.
