Work Text:
Till’s body was being carried off by the rebels. Multiple hands were lifting him and his slowly beating heart. A breath leaves Mizi’s throat, one she didn’t know she had been holding in. Chaos still spreads around. She spares a glance at Luka. His purple fingers caress through Hyuna’s hair.
“It’s your fault she’s dead.”
Mizi knows that voice all too well. She turns to face her lover, her everything.
“She wouldn’t have come out here if it wasn’t for you.” Sua’s cold fingers rest upon Mizi’s shoulders. Her voice is sultry and teasing. “You always do this, you know. Get people to chase you, to love you.”
Tears drip down Mizi’s cheeks. “I don’t mean too!” She yells. God, it really was her fault. The situation she’s in starts to dawn on her now. The stage is in flames. She deserves to burn with it.
“Oh darling, don’t die just yet.” Sua reprimands. “You can’t get out of this so easily.” Her hands drop from Mizi’s shoulders. She practically skips around, taunting. “Leave here. Leave the stage. That’s all we ever dreamed of.”
“Not without you.” Mizi says.
“Don’t worry, my universe.” Sua leans in, kissing her lips. “I’ll never leave you.”
So she leaves. She runs out without a second thought. The aliens don’t seem to even pay attention, too busy trying to escape the chaos. She runs and runs until her legs hurt and her lungs can’t take it. She eventually finds an unoccupied building and chooses to take refuge in it. Her back rests against the wall as her legs collapse. Sua chooses this moment to visit her again. Her ghostly figure follows Mizi’s movements and sits next to her on the floor.
“I never knew you were so fast.” Sua giggles.
“I’m not.” It was the adrenaline. Adrenaline, that is wearing down now. Sua’s face drops and she stares at Mizi, as if she’s lying. But why would Mizi lie to her imagination? Right. Her imagination. The real Sua is gone. She has to remind herself that.
“I’m very real.”
“You’re not.”
“I’m real to you. Isn’t that was matters?” Sua coos and places Mizi’s hand in her lap. “What matters other than me? Everyone else is gone.” She fiddles with Mizi’s fingers before bringing it up to rest her face on it. Mizi subconsciously cups Sua’s cheek.
“Stop.” She replies, with no real bite to it. After all, Sua’s right. She has no one now. Just the way she’s always wanted it. “What now?” She asks.
“People hate you now, darling. There’s no way they can’t.”
That’s a new feeling; Hate. She’s always been so used to being loved.
“Okay.”
Sua smiles. “Okay.”
