Work Text:
Jimin is done. Taehyung says he knew this would happened because Hwan is an asshole, and that much Jimin can agree on. An asshole that cheated on Jimin after one week of his three month Europe vacation. All while Jimin stayed in Seoul where they live, together. Just one week was enough to throw a two year long relationship down the drain. To make matters worse, Jimin found out because one of Hwan's friends that Jimin and Taehyung could actually stand, sent Taehyung a video saying that Jimin deserves better, but follow it up with an if he wants a rebound he can hit me up. So needless to say, Jimin is done with all of them.
Jungkook and Taehyung are in packing mode, meaning: putting every possession Hwan owns into it's own little trash bag so it will take him a lot of time to unpack, but not before putting glitter inside each individual bag. Jimin is sending all of it to Hwan's mother in Busan. She's actually nice lady, it was such a shame she had to conceive such an asshole son.
Jimin is so done in fact, that he sends only two messages to Hwan's phone.
Hwan ❣️:
yeah, ill go to a party, something chill (Monday 21:03)
Jimin:
just saw an interesting video, we have different opinions on what chill means (Tuesday 17:21)
Video attached (Tuesday 17:22)
we are done, I'm sending all your shit to your mother, asshole. (Tuesday 17:23)
Hwan ❣️:
:'( (Tuesday 21:32)
It's been three days since the last message and Hwan didn't even bother with an apology. So, Jimin blocked his number. Truth to be told, he's not that sad, he's more disgruntled and offended. Everyone told him Hwan was going to cheat on him, if he hadn't already, but he didn't believed it because Hwan was nice to him… most of the time. He made him laugh… sometimes. He brought him flowers… when Jimin asked him to. Anyway, Jimin is done for good.
Taehyung decided three days ago that Jimin shouldn't be alone for the time being and moved in with him, it didn't mattered that he's already living with Jungkook and their two dogs. No matter how much Jimin resisted the idea, Taehyung would not budge.
"It's like we'll be roommates, like in college." Jimin sighs, resting his head in Taehyung's chest. They're cuddling on the couch while Jungkook does whatever Jungkook is doing in the bedroom. The last time Jimin checked, he was cutting little holes into all of Hwan's underwear.
"Sure." Jimin burrows deeper into his friend's chest. Maybe he is a little bit sad and he feels foolish. He wanted Hwan to be it, but he made Jimin feel insignificant every step of the way until the very end.
"Don't sound too excited. Aren't you happy that we'll live together again?" Taehyung pouts holding him tighter. They hear Jungkook yelling done! and then starts stacking the boxes together.
"I am, of course I am, but I don't want to cause you or Jungkook any trouble. You're living together, you should be together." Taehyung is running his fingers through Jimin's black hair and it feels nice. It's getting a little longer, looks a bit like a mullet. Hwan didn't like it, keep pestering him about cutting it.
"Kookie, come here. Jimin's being silly, he needs to be squeezed into his senses!" They hear Jungkook dropping whatever he's holding and bulldozing his way into the couch. He jumps right into Jimin's back using his full arm strength to hug him. Jimin lets out an oof, but it actually feels nice, like a living weighted blanket.
"Don't be stupid Jimin, we alread—"
"That's hyung for you, you dick." Jimin complains while squirming in place.
"Don't be stupid, Jimin—hyung," He emphasizes the word just to be annoying. "We are your best friends and that means making sure you are okay. Me and Taehyung will still see each other all the time because I'll be here as well, you will not get rid of me that easily." Jimin feels his eyes tearing up and hides again into Taehyung's chest. He feels loved and it should be enough, but there's this hole in his chest every time he thinks of Hwan because he did love him in a way, even when he didn't deserve it.
"We'll never leave you alone, you cannot get rid of us. So it's either I stay here or you come stay with us," Taehyung is holding both Jimin and Jungkook into his arms now. His arms are absurdly long. "And I know for a fact you don't want to leave this place because you will not be able to see certain hottie from across the hall."
"Tae!" Jimin argues, but it sounds muffled. He raises his neck and glares at the brown-haired man. "I'm heartbroken, I can't focus on anything else!"
"Well, heartbroken or not, he's still a hottie and you know it." And well, Taehyung was right about his ex being an asshole and he's right about his neighbor from across the hall, too.
Yoongi moved into the apartment across the hallway a month before Hwan left for his trip. The old lady that lived there before moved with his son and Jimin had felt sad, she always told him he was too cute for that mean-looking man, that he deserved better and then she would pinch his cheek lovingly. She made him cookies and made him promise not to give any to his boyfriend. So, Jimin complied and every time she gave him cookies, he saved them and brought them to Tae and Jungkook's apartment.
So, Jimin thought he would spend the rest of his life cookieless, but then Min Yoongi appeared. He knocked on Jimin's door while Hwan was at work, introduced himself and gave him the box of cookies. Jimin thought his voice was nice and soothing, his demeanor made Jimin feel at ease. His jaw length hair framed his face perfectly and his cat-like eyes looked really pretty when he smiled. Jimin always saw him when they were both leaving for work. He usually wore black slacks, white or black shirt and a long dark coat. As far as creativity went, he wasn't first runner, but he looked good either way. That first time, Jimin had introduced himself, told him that if he needed anything, that him or his boyfriend could help him out. Yoongi had bowed politely and left.
Taehyung argued that Jimin was an idiot for telling the hot neighbor that he was in a relationship, and Jimin had replied that he couldn't very well hide a whole boyfriend while living across from each other and why did it matter anyway, he was in a loving and committed relationship. At least, that's what he thought at the time.
After the first encounter, most of their interactions happened while Hwan was present or were fleeting moments when they ran into each other in the hallway or elevator. Yoongi would always nod and greet him with a polite Jimin-ssi and Jimin would kindly greet him back. When Hwan was there, he tried to keep it short, Hwan had already made some comments about how Yoongi looked at Jimin with interest. Jimin didn't want him to cause a scene, so he would say Yoongi-ssi and look down.
That changes, two weeks after finding out about the cheating. Taehyung is out of the apartment for a date with Jungkook so Jimin is left alone and decides to cook. His skills are very limited. When he was living with Hwan, his then boyfriend always ordered food because he couldn't be bothered to actually cook and well, Jimin took advantage of it. So, every little skill he had almost vanished by the time he was twenty five.
So, Jimin puts on his pink apron that Hwan hated because he said it made Jimin look feminine and decides to make kimchi stew. Easy, right? Wrong. He manages to burn both the pork and the tofu, the whole container of salt falls into the pot and he confuses the sesame oil with olive oil and now there is a mess in the stove.
Jimin puts on a brave face, taking everything into a trash bag to throw it out and get himself something from the convenience store. The moment he steps out of the apartment, he feels the bag giving out on him and splashes warm kimchi stew all over his front door and Jimin just loses it. He starts weeping while looking at the mat.
"Jimin-ssi?" Jimin looks up and sees Min Yoongi closing the door to his apartment. He looks down, looks at Jimin' shoes and look at Jimin's face again. Jimin tries to contain his sobs, but he feels the sadness bubbling up inside him. "Are you okay?"
"No." Jimin mumbles pitifully.
"Do you need me to call your boyfriend?"
"NO! He's the reason everything sucks right now. The dipshit cheated on me and now I have to move on and fix everything and he doesn't even care. I tried to make food, I burned everything and made the mistake of trowing it a plastic bag and now I'm hungry, sad and embarrassed." He says the last part without looking at Yoongi's face. He's sure he has snot coming out of his nose. It's embarrassing.
Yoongi just keeps looking at his face for a couple of seconds, then says: "Hold on." And disappears back into his apartment. Meanwhile, Jimin just stands there sadly looking down at his shoe. My shoe he mourns.
Yoongi comes back outside holding a broom, a dustpan, bags and some wet wipes. He starts sweeping Jimin's trash bag into the dustpan, then deposits everything into one of the bags which he silently gives to Jimin to hold. Yoongi takes one wipe, cleans the floor and repeats the process two times. Then, he takes one more and cleans Jimin's shoe. Yoongi puts the rest of the trash in the bag, telling Jimin to throw it into the garbage chute while he goes back inside and asks Jimin to wait for him by his door.
Jimin dutifully does as commanded, working almost on autopilot. Yoongi just cleaned up his shoe. Jimin is not even attached to the shoe. It's just that it's been two weeks since the cheating and it all felt like too much. Jimin goes back to wait by his door. Yoongi appears holding a container of food and pushes it into Jimin's waiting hands.
"Yoongi-ssi… what is this?" Jimin asks dumbly. He can smell the food inside and can feel its warmth in his hands.
"Just… I usually make a lot of food and it looks like you might need it." Yoongi scratches his neck. Jimin feels his eyes welling up again. "Please, don't cry Jimin-ssi, it makes me want to hug you and we don't know each other. Just take the food."
"Yes—Thank you, I'm sorry for making a scene. It's been two very long weeks." Jimin bows. "I really am sorry, Yoongi-ssi. I appreciate the food."
"Please, don't apologize anymore. What's life without a little freak out once in a while. I just hope it makes you feel better."
"It will… maybe not right now, but I know it will."
"So, he's just gave you food?" Taehyung asks again.
"Yes." Jimin answers for the third time. It's been two days since the whole kimchi-shoe fiasco and Jimin hasn't seen Yoongi since then. Jimin is in the process of making some cookies. He wants to thank Yoongi for helping him and not making Jimin feel worse. "Jungkook, could you please stop eating the ingredients!" Jimin hits his hand with a dish towel and Jungkook goes to hug Taehyung that's sitting in one of the kitchen stools. Taehyung pats his hands consolingly and kisses his cheek. Jimin makes a gagging noise. "Could you please stop being disgusting in front of the newly single person in the room."
"There will be a time when you cannot use that card, but for now I'll allow it, but it's getting close to not working anymore." Taehyung says after drinking from his dick plastic cup. It's not that it's shaped like a dick or anything, Jungkook just happened to draw a lot of dicks in it in a drunken haze. Then he proceeded to give everyone the finger and pass out into Taehyung's thigh. It was after their first kiss too, so Taehyung kept the cup as a memory. It's been four years since that day. Disgusting if you ask Jimin. "So, the hottie gave you a bento box, cleaned you up and asked nothing in return? Dinner and aftercare? Marry him."
"Tae, please. I just want to bake him some cookies and maybe get him to stop calling me Jimin-ssi. It feels like crying your heart out in front of someone warrants some level of intimacy." While Jimin is not good at cooking, he's great at baking. His eomma taught him because she has a sweet tooth and needed to pass down the knowledge. That's why he liked the old lady's cookies so much, they reminded him of his eomma's. So, Jimin is making carrot cake cookies. He just hopes Yoongi is not allergic. Well, he'll have to ask before giving him the cookies.
"And maybe flirt a little…?" Jimin huffs at Jungkook's insinuation. It's not like it hasn't cross Jimin's mind. He's heartbroken, sure. But there's just something about Yoongi.
"He did say he wanted to hug you." Taehyung reminds him.
"But because he wanted to comfort a person in the middle of a very public meltdown. It just means he's a nice man, not that he's interested in me." Jimin keeps grating the carrots, almost slicing his fingers.
"But why can he be your rebound?" Taehyung whines. Jimin adds all the ingredients to the bowl and starts mixing them together.
"Because I don't want a rebound, he doesn't deserve to be someone's rebound. He seems nice, nice people deserve nice things." He gets what Taehyung is trying to do, but it's not going to work. Jimin is too into his head about the whole situation. He feels insufficient, Hwan made him feel like he wasn't enough. He wasn't enough to make him not cheat, he wasn't manly enough either apparently. He didn't even like that Jimin was a dancer, he just tolerated it. Hwan didn't like that Jimin dressed in bright colors, so Jimin tried to keep colors only for work, most of his going out outfits were some variant of white, beige or brown. All for a man that cheated the first chance he got. "I just want to be his friend, OK?"
"Fine, fine, I'll drop it for now. We'll see after you give him the cookies."
Taehyung is even more insufferable after Jimin gives Yoongi the cookies. He even brings Jungkook's cousin wedding planner book to start making calls. Sage and french blue or maybe mauve and white? You look so pretty in pink, Taehyung keeps flicking through the pages and not paying attention to him.
Nothing out of the ordinary happened, at least that's what Jimin thinks. He doesn't even know anymore. The day after he baked the cookies, Jimin ran into Yoongi while they were waiting for the elevator. Yoongi had politely said Jimin-ssi, nodded and entered.
"Going up?" He asked after Jimin made no attempt to get inside it.
"Yes, yes, sorry, Yoongi-ssi." Jimin felt his cheeks heating up. The rest of the ride had been silent, except for the quiet music that was playing in the background. After getting out, Yoongi nodded again, heading straight to his apartment. "Wait!" Jimin winced at how loud he sounded. Yoongi looked taken aback, but gave him his full attention.
"Yes?" Yoongi tilted his head to the side and Jimin thought he looked a little bit like a cat.
"I just— Wait here!" Jimin ran into the apartment before Yoongi could say another word. Jimin took the carefully wrapped box from the counter, the one Taehyung had teased him about for the pink bow Jimin decided to use, telling him it look too pretty for a present that was intended for someone he had no interest in. "Here, this is for you."
"I… you didn't have to." Yoongi had taken the box and just held it in his hands.
"I do… You were very nice to someone that basically had water coming out of his nose and eyes. And you gave me food. So I made these ones for you." Jimin mumbled the last part.
"Jimin-ssi, you really didn't have to, but thank you. It looks very pretty, I like the pink bow." Yoongi had smiled, pulled the string and opened the box. Jimin felt his heartbeat in his ears. "Are these carrot—?
"Carrot cake cookies, I made them. Wait! You are not allergic to nuts are you?" Jimin had been sure that if Jungkook were there, he would have made a dirty joke.
"No, I'm not. These look lovely, thank you." Yoongi had smiled, gums showing, eyes disappearing and Jimin felt he had been punched in the chest. "Wait, I have something."
"What? No, wait—" But Yoongi already had bolted for the door. After a minute, he came back holding another container of food. It smelled spicy.
"I made too much again. Hope you like it." Jimin was speechless, but bowed nonetheless. Yoongi had smiled again and had gone into his apartment after saying goodbye. Jimin entered his apartment in shock, only getting out of his stupor when Taehyung shrieked when he heard the story.
So now, Taehyung is planning their wedding.
And well, Yoongi keeps doing it. Every two days, a box appears in the morning next to his door, on top a kid stool Jimin did not own. It's pink with butterflies and glitter. Every two days for two weeks, a box appears, no name, no nothing, but it tastes familiar and it feels familiar. Taehyung starts playing Mendelssohn Wedding March every morning when he comes back with a box. Jimin pretends to be annoyed, but finds it funny.
The thing is, Taehyung is usually right, and Jimin hates that. Because Jimin would like to pretend to have some agency over his own life, but sadly, every time he hasn't listened to Taehyung something bad has happened. Like the time he didn't listen and went into the metallic slide wearing shorts in the middle of summer and ended up with his legs raw from the chafing and a pair of ripped shorts. Or every day when he hadn't listened to what Taehyung had to say about Hwan. Or when he told him not to wax his booty hole in their college dorm and found himself with first degree burns, although that might have been Jungkook. But the point is: Tae is always right because he knows Jimin almost better than himself. The only time he hasn't been right was when he insisted Jungkook didn't want to be with him, he's still a bit oblivious about himself.
Jimin doesn't have the time to bake cookies during that two week period because following his break up, Jimin asked Hoseok for more classes and now he's paying the price. Not that he minds it that much, Jimin loves to teach little kids. Still, he wants to bake something for Yoongi, but hasn't had the time. He wants to run into Yoongi, but Jimin leaves too early in the morning and arrives late at night. Knocking on his door empty handed just to say thank you seems kind of rude.
At last, they run into each other in the elevator again. Jimin is holding a box of party supplies for Sumi's birthday tomorrow at dance class. Hoseok made him go to the mall to get all the things they'll need.
"Jimin-ssi." Yoongi greets and after nodding at the box, he asks: "Having a party?"
"Hi! What?" Jimin is always forgetting how deep Yoongi's voice actually is. His memory doesn't do it justice. "Oh, yes, tomorrow. Sumi's birthday is tomorrow." Yoongi raises his eyebrow. "Right, you don't know who Sumi is. I dance… more like I used to dance, but now I teach little kids and one of them is having a birthday party tomorrow at the studio."
"Oh, you dance? Where do you work, Jimin-ssi?" Yoongi is too polite all the damn time.
"At Reaping Studio by the town square." The elevator's doors ding and Yoongi turns to look at him as they leave on their floor.
"You know Hoba then." Jimin feels jealousy bubbling up inside him. It's the first time he hears Yoongi use an informal name with someone and it's not for him. But then, if he calls him Hoba does it mean that he's older than Jimin and Hoseok or that Hoseok and him are too close? Either way, he has to act cool.
"Yes, he's my coworker and friend. Although I do think he thinks of himself more like a mentor of sorts." By now, they are both standing by their doors.
"Yes, he has mentioned something about a coworker that will become the next him." Yoongi smiles fondly, Jimin balls his hands. "We have someone in common, then." Yoongi puts the code into the door, then says: "Good evening, Jimin-ssi."
"Wait! Why do you keep being so formal?" Jimin almost feels like stumping his foot. "You can call me Jimin, it's okay."
"Ah, but you see, we don't really know each other." Yoongi says in a teasing tone.
"You watched me sob over a spoiled meal and cleaned up my mess, what else is there to know?" Jimin responds, petulant. "And then you gave me food, I gave you cookies, if we were in kindergarten we would be married already." Jimin regrets his words immediately, but Yoongi just laughs out loud.
"We would be married, wouldn't we?" Yoongi shakes his head and smiles at him. "If you want me to refer to you informally, we have to get to know each other better, don't you think?" Yoongi has opened the door, but keeps facing Jimin. "Good night, Jimin-ssi."
Jimin stays there looking at the closed door, shakes his head, and goes inside. Taehyung is going to have a field day with that one.
"How come you never mentioned Yoongi-ssi to me?" It's the first thing out of Jimin's mouth the next day at the studio. Hoseok looks at him with his mouth open.
"How do you know Yoongi-hyung?" Jimin is again annoyed that they can treat each other so comfortably while Jimin can't.
"We are next door neighbors, now answer the question." Jimin starts stretching before the little kids get in.
"We met in college, we were roommates. And why would I mention him? I don't go around mentioning every person I've ever met, do I?" Jimin grumbles something incoherent and focuses back into his exercises. They stay silent for a couple of minutes. Then, Hoseok says: "You know, I always thought you two would make a good couple, but you weren't single so." Jimin squeaks so loud he leaves an echo behind and almost face-plants into the floor. Jimin vows not to tell Taehyung anything and that him and Hoseok can't see each other again or they will start plotting together.
Jimin still tells Taehyung because he can't keep a secret from him. Taehyung just looks at him and asks: "I've booked three hotels in spring, one of them has a waterfall, want to take a look at them?"
Jimin has mission: befriend Yoongi. It's going to cost him money, time and cookies, but Jimin is sure it'll be worth it. First step: buying the prettiest stool he can find at the store. He's not going to lose the battle of the pinkest stool. No way. Except, he can't find a stool in pink, but he does find one that comes in lilac. That will do. Not that it even matters, most of the time they catch outside their doors before Jimin can even deposit his box.
Then: cookies. More like different type of sweet treats, really. Jimin makes everything he can think of: yakgwa, rice cakes, dasik, hotteok for a more traditional approach. Then, he goes international: lemon curd cookies, apple pie cookies, creme brulee cookies, raspberry cheesecake cookies.
Yoongi is always grateful, smiling like wants to say something else, but thinks better of it. He also always opens the box in front of Jimin, much to his dismay, and smiles again, eyes crinkling. He goes back inside and brings Jimin his own box of food. After three and a half weeks, he's still feeding Jimin.
One morning, Jimin gives him chocolate-dipped tangerine slices because he isn't able to make anything more elaborated, but he still wants to make something for him.
"Thank you Jimin-ssi… this are—" Yoongi stares at the box intently. He's never seen him speechless before. The pink box clashes a little with Yoongi's attire. He's wearing all black again. He mostly has black work clothes, apparently.
"You don't… like them?" Jimin feels nervous. Yoongi usually thanks him, smiles and they both go about their day.
"No! I do, too much. They're my favorite fruit. Did Hoba say anything?" Yoongi takes one of the tangerines and eats it right away. Jimin gasps, that also the first time he's seen him eating the snacks.
"No, no. I just… I was in a hurry, but wanted to make you something either way…" Jimin feels silly saying it.
"Well, I really like them. I appreciate it." Yoongi takes Jimin's hand and gives it a squeeze. Jimin almost falls to his knees. Yoongi then gives the bag of food to Jimin and says goodbye. Jimin is left standing there, leaning into the door, wondering why he feels so much from a simple hand gesture. Later, Taehyung says he's living his own pride and prejudice movie scene and Jimin argues that that's not even how the scene goes. Jimin rolls his eyes, he's already late for work, all over some silly hand gesture. They're nice hands, okay?
One evening, Jimin is entering his apartment when Yoongi calls out his name. Jimin whirls around so fast his neck start hurting.
"Yes?" Jimin inquires.
"Do you want— do you want to come in for a cup of coffee, Jimin-ssi?" Jimin feels a thud from inside his own apartment and two voices whispering loudly to each other.
"I— Yes, give me a minute? I have to… I have to. No, let me leave the bag inside and I'll go to your apartment, OK?" Yoongi nods, tells him the door will be open and goes inside. Jimin is yanked inside by two strong hands and there are other two that are cupping his face.
"You have to go and put on make-up. Now, now!" Taehyung tells him urgently. Jimin tries to break free but its futile. Jungkook is too strong and Taehyung too intense. "You need to change too, wear the blue jeans I got you for your birthday, they make the ass look superb."
"I can't change clothes, Tae! I told him I would come here just to leave my bag. Oh my god, I can't go inside his apartment. What if I embarrass myself?" Jimin pushes Taehyung's hands away and puts his own on his face, it feels too flushed.
"I think that ship sailed when he cleaned your shoes, but sure." Jungkook mutters under his breath. Taehyung elbows him and yells not helping! All while Jimin's freaking out.
"OK, you are going to go there and… and frankly? Just be yourself, Chim." Jungkook nods while Taehyung keeps talking. "You're perfect, Hwan was an asshole that didn't deserve you. If Yoongi is smart, he'll see all the good things you have to give." Taehyung kisses him noisily on the forehead, Jungkook pats him on the butt and both of them push Jimin out the door. Before the door closes he hears Jungkook telling Taehyung they need to look into flower arrangements. Jimin huffs, no wonder they're together.
Jimin straightens his clothes, before softly knocking on the door. "Yoongi-ssi?" He might be going into the guy's apartment, but he hasn't been given official permission to treat him informally yet.
"Come in." Jimin steps into the apartment and finds himself in the same layout of his own apartment. Yoongi has musical instruments lying around his living room. There's a piano in the corner and an electric guitar by the couch. There's… a kid's drum set by the window. What Jimin finds more surprising is that Yoongi is kneeling by the kitchen floor talking to a…cat? "You'll be on your best behavior, you hear me? No funny business, no yelling, no nail filing into his pants."
"You have a cat?" Yoongi jumps around and his eyes are comically wide, like he didn't remember asking Jimin to come inside. "You have a cat and you didn't mention it?" Oh my god, Yoongi has a cat. Of course he does.
"Um, this is Tang or Tangie. He's a boy. He likes to steal socks and bite toes, so be careful." Jimin kneels by Yoongi's side and offers Tangie his hand. The cat sniffs a couple of times, rolls on his side and starts purring.
"Oh, this is the best day of my life. My god." Jimin starts petting Tangie, the cat jumps into his lap and starts snuggling. If it wasn't for the uncomfortable position, Jimin might let him stay there forever.
"Don't let him fool you, he's a menace. He scratched my arm yesterday because I wouldn't let him have tuna." Yoongi stands and pats his knees. He extends his hand for Jimin to take and helps him get up. He lets go of his hand and goes to put on the coffee machine. Jimin doesn't really like coffee that much, it gives him a headache, but he shouldn't complain, right? He a guest and wants to leave a good first impression. "Do you like sugar or milk with your coffee?"
Neither, he wants to answer, but he's a bit scared to say it. Hwan always told him he needed to be more grown up and mature people drank coffee. They also cheat, apparently. Taehyung always said to him that it was such a bullshit take, that adults were supposed to drink coffee and only coffee, when there were so many delicious things to drink. Hwan is just a pretentious dimwit and Jimin is inclined to agree. "I…"
"It's okay if you don't want coffee, I don't really like it either, I just need the energy boost. I also have tea or sodas."
"You don't mind?" Jimin insists shyly.
"Of course not, you like what you like. So, what will it be?" Yoongi smiles at him and Jimin feels something unclench from his stomach. Maybe there are people that can accept Jimin for who he is and not who they want him to pretend to be.
"What kind of sodas do you have?" Yoongi opens the fridge, insisting on Jimin taking whatever he wants. Jimin takes a ginger soda and smiles at Yoongi gratefully. Yoongi stares at him for a couple of seconds, then clears his throat.
"Make yourself comfortable, Jimin-ssi. I'll go change in the bedroom. You can wait on the couch if you want, but I should warn you, Tangie will jump into your lap." Yoongi loosens his tie while walking into the room. Jimin nods belatedly and takes out his phone, it's been buzzing non-stop since he came into the apartment.

"I'm not going to ask him if he prefers a march or april wedding, Kim Taehyung, what the fuck." Jimin grumbles.
"Who is having a march wedding?" Jimin jumps at the sound of Yoongi's voice and pockets his phone.
"My best friend, current roommate and future dead man." Jimin says with a fake smile. Yoongi looks at him and smiles nonetheless.
"Looking forward to the funeral then." Yoongi walks to the kitchen, grabs a cup and pours the coffee. He adds milk and too much sugar and sits beside Jimin. Tangie jumps in the couch and settles between them.
"I'll give you a card with the date." Jimin starts petting Tangie on his pink belly. His mother always told him he was too allergic to have a cat, and truth to be told, he is, but he persisted. And started taking medication. The goal was to adopt a cat with Hwan, but he always complained about cat hair. Imaginary cat hair. "So, what's with the kids drum set?" Well, he might not be as brazen as Taehyung, but he's still his friend for a reason.
"Nothing gets past you, Jimin-ssi." Jimin sulks while Yoongi just chuckles. "It's my niece's. She's six and really wanted to learn, but her mother was scared the neighbors would complain since they live in an apartment too. They'll moving soon to a house so I offered to keep it here so she can practice if she wants."
"Aren't you scare the neighbors here will complain?" He takes a sip of his ginger soda and hums happily.
"Not really, no. I mean, she hasn't come since I moved because she has to many hobbies already and to be honest, I'll probably move soon. This was just something temporary." Yoongi puts the cup on the coffee table and looks back at him. Jimin feels a bit gloomy, he likes having Yoongi around, giving each other food and teasing one another. He helped him forget about his heartbreak, and even if something never happens between them, he'll still miss him. Jimin decides to just nod his head in understanding.
"Why do you keep calling me Jimin-ssi?" He decides to change the subject. Better not to dwell on things he can't change.
"I told you, we don't really know each other, do we?"
"What do you mean? I know you leave for work at 7, I know your favorite fruits are tangerines, I now know you have a cat and a niece and I know you work for… Actually, what do you do for work?" He guesses Yoongi is right, they only know surface level information. Jimin will try to fix that in the time they have left living next to each other.
"I'm an architect."
"See, we're practically best friends already."
"I don't think your current roommate agrees with that statement."
"You are right, Taehyung would kill me. But you can be my… Yoongi— I mean my Yoongi-hyung." Yoongi shakes his head and laughs out loud. It's a nice sound.
"You have to earn it to be able to call me hyung, don't you think?" He teases while Jimin glowers at him.
"Do you have a power exchange kink?" See, this is exactly why him and Taehyung are friends, both of them know how to put their foot where their mouth is.
"Now, don't you think that's information that someone that knows me closely should know?" Yoongi keeps teasing him and Jimin feels a thrill he hasn't felt in a long time. Long before he was cheated on, he doesn't even remember if he ever felt it with Hwan. He was just conveniently there one day and Jimin just kept going with the motion of their relationship.
"I will get the information out of you, one way or another." Jimin huffs.
"Looking forward to it, Jimin-ssi."
After that, Yoongi invites him to his place pretty regularly. Jimin might have insinuated that he wants to see Tangie as much as he can and Yoongi nodded and told him to come over whenever he felt like it. Jimin is not as bold as he would like to be, so he usually waits until they catch each other on the hallway to ask to see the cat.
"He really likes getting into his carrier, which is weird. But if you put his carrier in the couch, he goes crazy. He also really likes going outside. When he was little I use to carry him around in my pocket and took him to the park, but I was too stressed thinking a dog might get him, so we started going out in the carrier." Yoongi is dicing onions and grilling some meat. Jimin is sitting by the counter with Tangie in his lap. The cat is nibbling at Jimin's fingers and hugging his arm while he kicks at it with his hind legs.
"Where do you go now?" Every time Jimin comes into the apartment, Yoongi starts cooking food for both of them. Instead of waiting for the morning to give him his box, Yoongi gives him in the evening when it's fresh. If they feel like it, they eat dinner together. They are usually too full by Jimin's sweets to manage dinner though.
"I take him to my friends Namjoon and Jin's house. They have a backyard that Tangie loves to play in. Also, Jin-hyung is a chef, he's always making snacks for Tangie. The cat always throws a fit when we have to leave." Jimin looks down at the cat and he starts purring loudly.
"That's funny, I'm sure he starts howling." Jimin ponders for a minute. "What's Jin's last time?"
"Kim, why?" Jimin can't believe it.
"He's Jungkook's cousin, I think. He has a boyfriend named Namjoon. They are having a wedding in May, aren't they?" That's where Taehyung got the damn wedding book. Apparently they're all done with the preparations or Jungkook just stole it from him.
"Wow, what a small world, Jimin-ssi." Jimin just sniffs moodily. He will not give Yoongi the satisfaction of making him annoyed. Even though, he's already smiling after looking at Jimin's face. "They are having a wedding in May, I'm Namjoonie's best man."
"Now you're just rubbing it in my face, Yoongi-ssi." Jimin snarks back. Well, so much for not giving him the satisfaction. So what if he wants to be Jiminie? He likes it when people call him that. He likes nicknames in general. Jungkook is the only one that calls him by his name and he usually does it because he enjoys being an annoying little shit. But Taehyung compensates by calling him Chim or Chiminie. "I think you like begging, is it related to the power exchange kink?"
"Why can't you ask me normal things like my age or hopes and dreams? You always go straight to kinks." Yoongi goes to the fridge, gets a cold matcha can and he puts in front of Jimin. He takes it gratefully and happily starts drinking it. He likes that Yoongi knows little things about him too.
"I already know you are older than me because Hobi-hyung told me you met in college. I don't need you to tell me because I know you are…. twenty… seven?" Yoongi snorts and shakes his head.
"Oh, so close, twenty eight. You don't fool me Jimin-ssi, you think you can get away with anything because you sport that pretty face. I will not fall for it." Jimin stares wide-eyed at Yoongi's back. It's a pretty wide back too. But that's not the point. His cheeks feel warm and a shiver runs down his spine.
"How can you say we're not close if you think I have a pretty face?" He asks bravely.
"It's objectively a pretty face. I can say the sea it's pretty, the moon, the sky. I'm not close to either of those, am I?" Yoongi smirks and gives Jimin the box for tomorrow's lunch.
"You are not making any sense. See if I give you any dessert tomorrow." Jimin knows he will. Yoongi knows he will too. Taehyung will mock him and call him whipped while making him choose those damn appetizers.
"Jin-hyung is more like an annoying older brother. He's always on my case about something for the wedding. Just because I'm Namjoon's best man, he thinks I need to participate more, but every time I give him my input he says I'm loud and wrong and that he doesn't know why he puts up with me. He says he's always right and I should know better. I mean, he is always right, but I will not tell him that."
"He's like that with Jungkook too. Do you think it's weird we didn't meet each other sooner?"
"No, I think we met at the right time."
"We could be at first name basis by now, if we met sooner."
"You don't know that. You could have found me despicable."
"Why would I have found you despicable?"
"I was— very different before. I was not who I am now."
"Why don't you tell me, then?"
"Someday, not today. But someday."
"OK, Yoongi-ssi."
"Hoba says you wanted to be a professional ballet dancer, why didn't you?"
"I tried it, but touring wasn't for me. I missed my family too much. Then I met Hwan and he thought it was a waste of time to pursue that dream. He didn't even like that I danced in general, but at least he found teaching worthy, even if he thought I was teaching young kids to have a hobby."
"Sounds like a keeper, that guy. There's nothing stupid about following an unusual career path."
"I know that now, but it doesn't matter. He's not my boyfriend and I didn't pursue that dream."
"It's never too late, you're young."
"Not that young."
"You are twenty five, you're still a baby. Why are you blushing, do you like it when I call you baby, Jimin-ssi?"
"Are you close with your family?"
"Only with my brother, niece and sister in law. You?"
"I am close with all of them. But my mother, father and brother live in Busan."
"It must be hard, not being in the same city."
"It was, but I have Tae, Kook and Hobi-hyung, they're my family too."
"You can ask you know, I'll give you as much of an answer as I can."
"Why aren't you close with your mother or father? You never speak of them."
"They weren't good, growing up. So once I was adult enough, I left."
"It must have been hard."
"It was, but I had my hyung's support. I didn't need anything else."
"I know you must have a hyung kink, that's why you are so hellbent on not letting me call you that. Don't laugh at me, you know it's true!
"Have you ever dyed your hair?"
"Yes, in college, Hoba went through a phase where he thought being a hairdresser was his calling so I was his guinea pig. The last color I had was mint green."
"I would pay good money to see pictures."
"I'm sure Hoba will let you see them for free, just to embarrass me. How about you?"
"Yes, in college too. Tae and I liked changing every 6 months, it was so painful to the scalp. I miss it though."
"Why don't you dye it anymore?"
"Hwan… he used to tell me it didn't suit a grown man to have colorful hair."
"Well, he's not here, is he? I think blond would look pretty on you."
"Do you have a baby kink? Wait, that came out wrong. I didn't mean that."
Jimin is worried. Not like worried worried, but like— no, he's worried worried. He hasn't seen Yoongi in three whole days. He doesn't have his number and feels silly to go knocking on his door just because he's anxious. The last time they saw each other, Jimin brought over a tangerine tart that was a big success. Yoongi even had a second serving. The older man told Jimin it was the best dessert he had ever tasted and Jimin preened under the attention.
"Why don't you just go over, knock and see if something happened? You are driving me crazy with all this pacing around the room, oh my god, quit it." Taehyung wraps his arms around him and makes him sit by his side on the couch.
"What if he thinks I'm overreacting?" Jimin squirms in place, tries to get up, but Taehyung smacks him on the back of the head.
"Jimin, you've seen that man almost every day for the past three weeks. It's understandable to be anxious, he'll understand that you care and are concerned. Just please, go. And ask him if he prefers lilies or tulips." Jimin rolls his eyes, but says tulips. Taehyung grins his boxy smile and goes back to choosing things from the wedding book.
Waiting outside the apartment, Jimin takes a big breath and goes to knock on the door. A minutes pass and nothing. He knocks again, hears a loud meow, a thump, and a curse. Then, the doors opens slowly.
"Jimin… ssi," Yoongi adds the honorific belatedly. "What—" sneeze. "What—" sneeze again. "What are you doing here?"
"I was worried, I haven't seen you in days and I don't have your number." Now that he says it out loud, he could have asked Hoseok, but was too distress to think clearly.
"Sorry, I got the flu. I've been festering in my own sickness for three days."
"Have you taken anything?" Yoongi shakes his head and goes back inside, leaving the door open for Jimin to follow. Tangie runs up to him and starts rubbing himself into his pants. Jimin bends down to pet his little head and the cat purrs happily.
"Usually Jin-hyung takes care of me and brings me medicine, but I forgot he was out of town for the week with Namjoonie, so I've been waiting for it to pass." Jimin just stares at him like he has grown three heads.
"You— you have the flu and have done nothing about it?" He almost yells the last part.
"Please, don't speak so loudly, my head hurts. Also, I may have a fever, I'm not really sure you're here. Are you here?" The older man turns around and falls face first into the couch. Jimin would like to yell some more, but there will be time for that later. He goes to crouch by Yoongi's head, hesitates for a moment, and then starts rubbing his scalp with soothing motions. He guesses Yoongi is too out of it to remember.
"You silly man. Yes, I'm here. Jimin-ssi will take care of you, OK?" He nods against the couch and Jimin swears he hears a faint Jimin-ah, but he can't be sure. He decides he needs to go back to his apartment first to look for some medicine. He makes sure Tang has enough food and water, gets him inside the bedroom so he can leave the front door open, before bolting down the door.
"Did you find him?" Taehyung is still sitting in the couch, but now Jungkook has join him and he's wrapped around Taehyung like a snake. Taehyung looks way too comfortable in that position.
"Yes, that stupid man is sick with the flu and hasn't taken any medicine. Do we have anything?" He starts rummaging through the bathroom cabinet for something.
"Yes! It's in my bedroom, Kookie felt sick last week so I have medicine there."
"How come I didn't know that?" Jimin asks after finding the pills he was looking for.
"You were too preoccupied with hottie across the hall, and planning the wedding, of course." Taehyung smiles at him, but Jimin feels guilty nonetheless.
"Jimin-hyung, don't be silly. I wasn't really that sick and Tae took care of me. Just go give him the medicine and we'll make some chicken noodle soup for him to eat, okay?" Jungkook looks at him with his big doe eyes and Jimin feels himself nodding. He goes by the couch, smooches Jungkook on the cheek and hugs both of them.
"You two are the best, OK? I could never live without you! Now gotta go, I'll come back for the soup later. Thanks, bye!" Taehyung yells: I'll use the first time the groom got the flu in the wedding speech! Jimin laughs and enters Yoongi's apartment. He goes to the bedroom first and lets Tangie out.
"Hey, you asleep?" He crouches again by the couch and starts rubbing his hand down the man's upper back. Yoongi hums, but otherwise stays motionless. "You need to sit so I can give you some pills, OK?"
"'Kay." He tries to push himself upwards, but he seems to be too weak and falls face-first again into the cushion. He grumbles and complains, but stays pressed into the couch. Jimin laughs and decides to grab him by the shoulders and make him sit up.
"Yoongi-ssi, stay here, I'll go to the kitchen for a cup of water." He goes to move when Yoongi grabs his arm. "What is it?"
"Yoongi-hyung. Just call me hyung, you're taking care of me when you don't have to, you can call me hyung." Jimin stares at him with his mouth open for a couple of seconds taking Yoongi's hand on his own.
"OK, hyung," The older man smiles faintly and murmurs something incomprehensible. "But I'll need you to say that after the fever is gone, got it?"
"Of course, Jimin-ah, I'll tell you whatever you want." Jimin wants to ask a million questions, but it feels like taking advantage. Also, Yoongi starts sneezing again so he figures there are more important things to worry about. And that includes Taehyung's question about wedding flowers.
The day passes around a blur of snot, tissues and fever. At some point, Yoongi's fever spikes so bad, he starts hallucinating about his mother. He calls out for her, but looks afraid every time he thinks she's coming closer. Jimin becomes so concerned, that he asks Jungkook for his cousin's number.
"I don't know what to do, he seems to calm down when I'm close, but if I leave for a second, he freaks out and calls out for his mother again." Jimin says down the line. Yoongi's face is pressed into his thigh where he's lying his head as Jimin keeps stroking his hair out his face. He's still too flushed and his body is shaking even with the blanket Jimin arranged around his body like a cocoon.
"His fever usually doesn't last more than a day," Jin says while telling Namjoon to pack their bags quickly. "But that's when he eats and takes his meds, which he hasn't done because that foolish man didn't bother to call me. He knew I would have gone home immediately."
"You don't have to rush home, I can take care of him. I don't work tomorrow. If you tell me what to do I can help." Jimin is trying to get the older man to drink water. So far he's manage a couple of sips from a bottle with a straw. Jungkook brought the soup that's cooling down on the kitchen counter.
"OK, I'll trust you. We were leaving tomorrow anyway. Joonie, stop packing. You need to feed him, he probably hasn't eaten in two days. He needs to go to the bathroom once the fever has gone down, sometimes he forgets about it because he doesn't drink water. But his kidneys need to function so, bathroom. You can take him, leave him to do his business, then help him back into the bed." Jin is listing all the instructions in rapid succession. "There's nothing to do about the hallucinations, just keep comforting him. If he stops fussing whenever you are near, it's because he feels safe. So, just keep going."
"OK, I'll call you once the fever is broken."
"Yes, keep me updated please, if you don't answer I'll call Kookie. Thank you for this Jimin-ssi, he's a fool but he… he doesn't have anyone to take care of him because he doesn't like to worry his brother. He says his hyung has enough with his niece and deserves to live a normal life. So, I'm usually in charge… but it's easier knowing he has you now." He feels like tearing up. There's so much he doesn't know about Yoongi, but he deserves people to look out for him.
"Yes, he has me too, I'll look after him."
The fever spikes once more, it gets too high again and Jimin almost gives in and takes him to the emergency room. Jungkook reminds him that Jin told him to put wet cloths on his forehead, neck and pulse points. Yoongi still shakes, but reaches out for Jimin's hand every time he's conscious enough. He manages to take some pills and after two hours, the fever goes down. Jimin makes him drink some soup in bed.
"Jin-hyung says you have to make him pee." Jungkook announces to the room. Taehyung has been basically useless since he spotted the cat and hasn't stopped cuddling Tangie on the couch.
"OK, Yoongi-hyung, time to pee-pee." They're both in bed. Jimin is by the headboard and Yoongi pressing his face into the pillow by Jimin's lap. Even though the fever stopped, the older man still clings to him. And Jimin doesn't mind, it makes him feel useful, to give him comfort.
"Jin-hyung is going to rip me a new one when he comes back." Yoongi complains into the pillow.
"Yes, he is." Jimin laughs as he runs his fingers through Yoongi's sweaty scalp. It's gross, he knows, but every time he stops, Yoongi pushes his head into his hand like Tangie does when he wants to be petted. So, Jimin powers through. "And if it wasn't because you made me so worried, I would be scolding you too."
"Sorry, Jimin-ah. Didn't mean to, thought it would pass on its own."
"Well, it didn't, so know we must follow the instructions. Pee-pee time. Do you feel like taking a shower too?" He helps him sit up on the bed and closes the bedroom door. Jungkook and Taehyung are still playing with the cat before the leave for the day to be in their apartment with their dogs.
"Yes, but I don't know if I'm strong enough, I feel a little queasy. I think I'll wait until tomorrow." The older man stands and sways on the spot. Jimin grabs his arms and steadies him. "And before you suggest it, no, you can't help me shower. It doesn't matter if we dropped the honorifics. Let me keep a little of my pride."
"May I remind you, you watched me sob about my ex while I was covered in kimchi stew? As far as embarrassing stories goes, I think I take the crown." Before Yoongi can answer, they hear Jungkook yelling he's right, nothing can top that. Yoongi bursts into laughter. "YAH, weren't you going to see Bam and Yeontan?" They hear a collective bye, then the door closing.
"You should give me their numbers, so I can thank them for the soup and keeping Tangie entertained." Yoongi takes a couple of sips of his water bottle before walking to the bathroom door.
"You don't even have my number and you want theirs?" Jimin pulls a face and sulks. "Next thing, you'll let them call you hyung too."
"You're right. Phone's on the table, code is 2029. Send yourself a message and add your number, I'll go pee-pee. I can feel Jin-hyung's rage all the way from Iksan." The older man closes the door and suddenly Jimin feels too powerful. He unlocks the phone and stares at a photo of baby Tangie wearing a black collar with a tiny chick danging from it. He coos at it thinking he will ask Yoongi to send him the photo. He opens the contacts list, adds himself first, sends a message to his phone and saves the number on it.

Yoongi opens the door and looks a little better. He appears to have washed his face. He looks flushed, but it's healthier than before.
"Did you save your number?" Yoongi goes to the closet and picks up a clean shirt.
"Yes, but don't look until I leave, please?" Jimin looks at him innocently and the other man arches a brow. He sighs, pulls a pair of sweats and clean underwear from the closet.
"Whatever you want, Jimin-ah. Now, go to the living room. I want to change and sleep the rest of the sickness away. We can watch a movie if you want as I pretend I'm not sleeping."
True to his word, Yoongi ends up sleeping most of the movie. Jimin doesn't mind, it just feels nice to have Yoongi's comforting weight against his side and Tangie's warmth on his lap. Every time the older man is awake, Jimin makes him drink more soup. The fever seems to be gone for good, so he's making sure he gains his strength back.
"Than you for taking care of me, you didn't have to." Yoongi's head is resting into Jimin's shoulder while he holds his chicken noodle soup bowl in his hands.
"No need, I wanted to. You helped me after barely knowing me. Of course I would help my hyung if he needed it. I just wish you told me sooner." He wants to reach out and take the others hands into his own, but is not sure if it's appropriate or not.
"It's hard, asking for help. For a long time it was just me and my brother, then he had a family. I try not no bother him with silly things. Even though he has a whole different life now, he still calls me almost every two or three days, making sure I'm good. Guess he'll never stop worrying about me." The older murmurs eyes strained on the TV. He leaves the empty bowl on the coffee table. "Then, Jin-hyung came along and he doesn't let me feel like a burden, he's there, always, pushing me and still— it's hard, letting people care for me without feeling like they'll eventually… leave, so it's better not to reach out for help."
"Yoongi-hyung I want to be here, by your side, helping you, being with you, I want… so much, but I know it's soon, too soon, I don't want you to feel like you are a rebound because you are not. And I don't even know if you feel or want—"
"To be honest, I like you and I would want to be with you, but I don't know if I can trust yet that whatever you feel it's… just because you like me and not because you want to stop hurting. I don't want to be just a distraction for you." Jimin reaches out and takes his hand. "A huge part of my life was really complicated, but I am finally at a stage where I'm good and happy. My life feels stable, I don't want to jeopardize that by jumping into a relationship with someone because he's heartbroken."
"You are not a distraction, you are someone I care for. I know me saying it actually means little, but whatever I feel for you, it's just because you're you. Since the cheating I've come to realize Hwan was… not good. Tae always told me that, but I was to stubborn to listen. But Hwan made me feel insecure, he didn't support me, he never went along with whatever silly thing I wanted to do. None of that has anything to do with what I feel for you. You came along and brought joy into my life making me realize… I wasn't even that sad to end up that relationship. I was just sad for the time I lost." Yoongi grips his hand, he looks at his face like he's trying to find the truth in his expressions. He must find some honesty in his words because his shoulders drop and sighs, releasing some tension from his body.
"I think we should keep getting to know each other like we've been doing for now." He sags against Jimin's shoulder again. "We now know there's something here and can build something from this point on."
"Sounds reasonable. Can we keep cuddling though? I like this part." Jimin moves his shoulder up and down to jostle the older man.
"Yes, we can keep cuddling, I like this part too." Yoongi starts playing with Jimin's fingers as he fights yet another yawn. "The code to the door is the same as the phone, you can come over whenever you like and cuddle Tangie too."

The next couple of days are uneventful, but they are Jimin's favorite. They spent almost every evening together. Sometimes with Jungkook and Taehyung, although they are spending more time at their own apartment. They think Jimin is doing better, so Taehyung has been spending most nights there.
However, every time they do have dinner together, Taehyung brings that damn wedding book. He's making it his mission to embarrass him every chance they get.
"Jimin told me you are planning a wedding." Yoongi mumbles one night around a mouthful of Korean chicken. Jimin chokes on his soda, looks pointedly at Taehyung and make an aborted hand gesture to him.
"Why, yes, Yoongi-ssi, I am." There's a dangerous glint in his eye and Jimin needs to put a stop to it before he overshares.
"Yes, Tae, how is your wedding coming along?" Jimin ask sharply. It's Jungkook time to choke on his kombucha. Taehyung looks like a deer caught in headlights for a second, but recovers much faster than Jungkook who is still coughing. Taehyung rubs his back absently.
"Yes, Jimin says you are thinking of march?"
"Yes, that's exactly what I said. You will be invited of course, you can even wait by the aisle with Jimin during the ceremony. We'll be family after all."
"Wanna go to a coffee shop with me?" They are hanging around Jimin's apartment for a change. Tangie is staying with Jin and Namjoon for the weekend, so they decided to change locations and watch a movie here instead.
"You know I don't like coffee." Jimin replies sullenly. Maybe he's exaggerating, but Hwan always brought up plans that included things Jimin didn't enjoy, he did them anyway because it was expected of him as his boyfriend.
"I know, Jimin-ah. They sell other things too, you know. You can get a Chai Tea or something sweet." Yoongi settles beside him on the couch bringing an arm around his shoulders.
"Sorry, hyung." He feels silly now. He shouldn't have said anything.
"Why are you apologizing? You did nothing wrong." Yoongi squeezes his shoulder, comforting. Sometimes Jimin gets too into his head. He gets the feeling Yoongi will leave if he doesn't do or say the right thing.
"It's just— I don't like feeling like I'm disappointing you by not doing whatever you want." The older man takes his hand and threads their fingers together.
"If I ever want to do something and you don't want, we'll do something we both want. Now, for example, I want coffee and you don't like it. So we'll go somewhere that sells something sweet like you want, OK?" Jimin nods shyly.
"It's hard. I'm not use to feeling like what I want matters too."
"Well, it does, as much as what I want matters. Just don't shut down and apologize, let' talk and we can decide, what do you think?" Jimin nods again and smiles at Yoongi. The older man kisses his knuckles and stands up, bringing him along. "Now, let's go before Taehyung-ssi gets home, last time he saw me, he asked me about my free time to go suit fitting. Let get out of here."
Things were so good, that Jimin forgot about the ghost in the closet. On Monday evening, Jimin arrives home and finds Taehyung waiting for him on the couch as Jungkook makes some food in the kitchen. Jimin takes off his shoes and leaves his bag by the door.
"Chim, come here." He goes to the couch and sits beside Taehyung.
"What is it? Why are you taking my hand like something bad happened? Did you break my favorite mug again?" He inquires, eyes narrowed.
"Chim, I need you to remain calm, yeah?" Jimin nods and Taehyung takes a deep breath. "Hwan texted me this morning, he said he's coming back to the country next week and he's coming to the apartment. He wants you back."
"What?" He croaks out.
"He didn't say when, just that he was coming back." Taehyung keeps talking but Jimin feels numb and scared.
"How can he— not, it's not true, he's saying that to mess with me. He hasn't tried to contact me." Jimin knows he has him blocked, but he still could have tried harder if he really wanted to get in touch with him.
"He has tried, he's been texting me every week, but I just ignored him. I didn't want to tell you because you've been doing so good, but this feels real, Chim. I don't think he's lying." Jimin's breath is shallow and fast, so fast in fact, he doesn't think any air is actually getting into his lungs. He thinks he hears Taehyung yell something, then there are hands wiping his tears and he's suddenly sandwiched between two bodies.
"Oh my god, this can't be happening now. Everything with Yoongi is working out and he's so nice to me and he doesn't— What am I going to do?" Jungkook is using all his force to squeeze him and it works a little, he can feel his panic subside a notch.
"There's nothing to do for now, just wait it out. We'll be staying here everyday until we're sure he will not be come, we'll bring Bam and Yeontan, and Kookie can punch him if he comes near you."
"Yes, Jimin-hyung, you know I work from home, he'll never see me coming." Jungkook nuzzles into his neck and stays there holding him tightly while Taehyung keeps petting his hair. Jimin feels good between them, but he still feels a bit numb.
"You need to tell Yoong—"
"No, I can't! He'll think I'm nervous because I want him back, he can't know." Jimin rambles on. Yoongi will worry, will think Jimin was playing with him, he can't know anything until they know for sure.
"Jimin—"
"No, maybe he wont come, maybe he's just saying that to piss me off. Please, let's not tell hyung." He feels himself panicking again. He grips Taehyung hand tightly.
"It's okay, Jimin, fine— we'll wait and we wont say anything. Please take a deep breath." Jimin nods against Taehyung shoulder and sags against him.
"Hyung, your phone is buzzing." Jimin manages to take his phone from the coffee table and see a couple of texts from Yoongi and feels like crying.

Jimin doesn't see Yoongi soon. As a matter of fact, he stars actively avoiding him. Every time he thinks about the elder, he feels a hole open up in his chest and starts freaking out. Yoongi texts him, and Jimin tries to seem like his cheer self every time, but he knows the older man can feel something is wrong. He doesn't ask what's happening and he still brings him food every two days, which he leaves on the pink stool by the door.
Jimin tells himself that it's for the better and not because he's a coward that's to afraid to face the fact that Yoongi will not want anything to do with him because Jimin is complicated and comes with a baggage in the form of an ex that wont leave him alone.
"OK, enough moping, it's been five days, you need to go shower now." Jimin whines, but Taehyung is far stronger than he looks. He's able to pick him up and put him in the bathroom by the toilet seat. "You are going in there, shower and make yourself squeaky clean because I love you, but you smell and neither Bam or Yeontan want to go near you. So get your pretty butt naked and shower, now."
Jimin grumbles the whole time, but feels a lot better by the end of it. Bam and Yeontan actually do cuddle with him by the time he goes back to sulking on the couch.
"I miss Tangie." He says into Yeontan's fur.
"It's not like he moved across the world, as a matter of fact, he's right there." Taehyung points to the front door and Jimin scowls at him. "Jimin, why don't you talk to him. You know hyung will understand."
"And since when do you call him, hyung?" He asks moodily.
"Since you haven't seen him in five days and barely text him back. He's worried, he's been texting me and asking me how you are." Taehyung sits beside him hugging him sideways. "Why won't you talk to him?"
"What if I disappoint him?"
"Why would you?"
"Because he wants something simple and I'm not. I have an ex that won't leave me alone after cheating on me." He complains into his hands. He doesn't know how to be the simple man Yoongi deserves.
"And how is that your fault? Hyung knows this about you and you haven't seen him run away, have you?" Jimin shakes his head. "Then, give him the benefit of the doubt. He's a mature man, maybe he'll need time, but he'll understand. And he's not Hwan. He's not trying to mold you into a perfect man, he likes you because you're you, silly."
"You really think so?"
"I know that he'll understand why you've kept your distance. Also, it's not like you are planning on going back to Hwan." Taehyung insists as he hugs him closely.
"OK, I'll talk to him, but can I mope for a couple more days? I'm still scared." Taehyung huffs, but nods nonetheless.
"Fine, fine, you have until Sunday, then, you are knocking on his door and fixing this. We have to pick a wedding cake."
Taehyung allows him one more day of pouting after Sunday. On Monday morning, he jumps into his bed and tells him he has until the end of the day to go over because tomorrow they're going wine tasting and he needs Yoongi's input. Jimin rolls his eyes, then goes to get ready for work. Hoseok had allowed him one week vacation, but he knows the dancer must have been cramped without him.
The kids are excited to see him and for a while, he's able to forget about the conversation waiting at home. The kids shower him in compliments and he almost feels normal. By evening, the dread is back in full force. He enters his apartment dragging his feet. Taehyung and Jungkook are there already.
Taehyung gives him a stern look and looks pointedly at the door. Jimin sighs going back outside. He gathers all the courage he can, goes to knock on the door when—
"Jimin." He turns around and finds Hwan coming out of the elevator. Jimin freaks out and tries to bolt to his own door, but Hwan is faster and grabs him by the waist. "Don't run, we need to talk."
"There's nothing to talk, let me go." He pushes at him with fists into his chest, but Hwan was always stronger, he pulls him closer and traps his arms between their bodies.
"No, I don't think so. You put fucking glitter into all my clothes and let my mother deal with the mess, we are fixing this now." He's still trying to break free, but Hwan doesn't allow him much movement. He feels tempted to yell, but doesn't want to make a scene in a very public hallway.
"Well, you cheated on me, I think what I did was mild at best."
"Now, honey, that was just a misunderstanding. I did no such thing. That asshole that sent you the video was always interested in you, so he recorded me dancing with that guy, but nothing else happened." Hwan brings one of his hands to his neck and keeps it there.
"What do you mean nothing happened? I saw you dancing with that guy. You were kissing his neck." Jimin splutters. He pushes him again, but Hwan is like a brick wall.
"It was nothing, we were just having fun and dancing, nothing more happened." Doubt creeps up at Jimin suddenly, did he overreact? Everyone who has heard the story told him Hwan was an idiot, but what if the story he knew was a lie?
"Really?"
"Yes, really, you know I love you."
"No, I don't— you don't— you need to leave before…" Hwan grabs his waist with more force and the grip on his neck goes to his face and tilts his head upwards. Jimin mind goes blank, he thinks if he just lets it happen it'll be over sooner. He closes his eyes tightly when he hears the elevator door opening. He looks to his right and sees Yoongi's face going from happy when he sees Jimin to vacant in a second. Something pulls tightly into his chest.
"Yoong—"
"Oh, you're the neighbor, right? I hope you looked after my Jimin here." Jimin flinches and pushes Hwan away. Yoongi looks at him without any emotion etched into his face nodding once at them. And it hurts too much. Jimin wants to reach out, takes his hand, explain.
"Hwan-ssi, Jimin-ssi." The older man puts the code into his apartment and enters without looking back. Jimin feels his heart shatter, fear creeps up on him.
"No… no. Leave, you need to leave now. I don't want to see you again, leave!" He raises his voice, but it's not enough, Hwan is still trying to pull him in so Jimin starts knocking into his own apartment door. Hopefully Taehyung or Jungkook will hear him.
The doors opens and Jimin almost falls on his ass, but Taehyung catches him and holds him while Jungkook steps over both of them. Yeontan starts barking nonstop, Bam growls by Jungkook's hip. The younger man keeps a hand on Bam's head while shooting daggers at Hwan. Taehyung arms come up to hold him by the waist and Jimin trembles in his arms.
"Leave, now." Jungkook tells Hwan, livid.
"I just want to talk to Jimin—"
"I'm not asking again, leave or I'll make you." Hwan looks back at Jimin, but he turns around hiding into Taehyung chest. Taehyung holds him tightly and murmurs soothing words into his hair. Jimin shakes his head, he feels cold all of the sudden.
"Fine, I'll leave now, but I'll be back, we're not over yet, honey." Jungkook starts pushing at Hwan while Bam stays guarding the door. Jimin silently weeps into his best friend's arms with Yoongi's expressionless face in his memory.
"What am I going to do? He hates me now, I'm so stupi—"
"Hey, don't say that about my best friend." Taehyung exclaims as he watches Jimin pace around the room. It's been an hour, he hasn't stopped panicking once, his anxiousness is so bad he feels like vomiting.
"But I am, Tae, I am. I should have told him what was happening, now he thinks I'm getting back together with that asshole, oh my god, I need to go talk to him now." He's about to bolt to the door, but Taehyung tackles him to the couch.
"Jimin, you are in no state to go to hyung's apartment. You need to cool off and explain everything calmly. Yes, you fucked up and only if you had listen to me," Jimin glares at his friend even though he knows it's true. "Nothing would have happened, but what it's done it's done. You need to give Yoongi-hyung some time alone."
"But Tae—"
"Jimin, you ignored the man for a week and the first time he saw you, you were in your ex's arms. How do you think that looks? Let him rest, talk to him tomorrow."
"Are you sure? Fine, okay, I'll wait, but I hate it, I hate myself so much. I was so stupid." Jimin buries his face into the couch pillows and screams.
"Everything will work out, don't worry. You will not be left at the altar under my watch."
Jimin barely sleeps that night. It gets so bad that he goes into Taehyung room, slips into the middle of the bed and stays between him and Jungkook for the rest of the night. At one point Bam and Yeontan join them and it feels suffocating, but it's better than the fear that's been constantly nagging him since yesterday evening.
When he does wake up, Yeontan is licking his face and it makes him laugh softly. He's glad his friends and friend's dogs are here. It makes him feel less lonely.
"Rise and shine, pretty bird." Taehyung comes in wearing his pink apron as he holds a food tray. Jungkook snuffles faintly into his back.
"Thanks for making breakfast, Tae—" Jimin sits on the bed and sees store bought sandwiches on the tray. He raises an eyebrow at his friend. "What? You know I can't make food, did you want a burnt breakfast? Didn't think so." By now, Jungkook is in the process of waking up and mumbles a quiet food, rolls around and sits with his eyes still closed.
"Well, thanks anyway, I didn't feel like cooking."
"Yeontan, down. Yes, I figured as much. Today is getting your shit together and getting your man back day, so I thought it would be best to have breakfast in bed this morning. Kookie, c'mon, open your eyes, you have to work in twenty." Taehyung goes to Jungkook's side and kisses his cheek noisily. Jungkook complains, but smiles either way. Jimin feels a pang of jealousy and longing, and has to look away.
He hopes he can fix whatever mess he made for himself.
The day drags along slowly. The kids are an appreciated distraction again, but he still feels sad. Hoseok for the most part has been civil with him, but Jimin thinks he knows more than he's letting on. By lunch he's completely exhausted. He wants to go home and take a nap, but he still has two more classes to go.
"Are you okay, Jimin-ah?" Hoseok walks up to him and puts his lunch tray into the table. Jimin has barely touched his food.
"Just tired, Hobi-hyung." Hoseok narrows his eyes, but says nothing more for a couple of minutes.
"You know, Yoongi-hyung… he's not a man of many words, as you might have come to realize. But he is a man of actions, he shows what he feels by lending a helping hand. And he deserves the truth, about whatever is happening with you." Jimin is about to reply, but Hoseok holds up a hand. "He hasn't said anything to me, but I saw him briefly yesterday, and he seemed… troubled. Hyung's world is not huge, he keeps the ones he loves very close to him, so it's not hard to figure out where the trouble might be."
"Hyung, I messed up, and I'm so sorry—"
"It's not me you should be apologizing, Jimin-ah. And I'm not scolding, you two are adults and I still think you're good to each other, OK?" Jimin nods feeling miserable. Hoseok taps his knuckle against his chin and smiles warmly at him. Something eases inside his chest. "Now, go home, sleep, I'll take your classes for the day."
"But Hyung—"
"But nothing, take the day off and cuddle those cute puppies or maybe you can snuggle Bam and Yeontan if they let you."
By the time he gets home, it's later than he intended to, but he went to the flower shop and got a bouquet of orchids. Neither Taehyung, Jungkook or the puppies are home, so he figures they must be at the park. It's still early, Yoongi might still be at work. So, Jimin decides to take a scalding shower. He almost faints because he's stays longer than he should have and it reminds him that he should eat something too. He puts on a nice light blue sweater, his most comfortable pants, takes the bouquet and goes to knock on Yoongi's door.
Yoongi should be home by now, he almost always arrives at six. So, he knocks once and nothing happens. Knocks again and everything stays silent. He knocks for a third time starting to fidget, gets nervous, says fuck it, and puts the code into the door. Yoongi might get angry at him for coming unannounced, but he needs to fix things.
Tangie doesn't come to greet him like he usually would, which worries Jimin. The apartment is silent, except for the humming sound of the fridge.
"Hello?" But there's no answer. He goes to the bedroom and sees that the bed is still made. Yoongi told him once that he preferred making the bed before going to sleep at night because he was always too exhausted in the mornings he has to work to do it. He goes to the kitchen next and finds a note.
"There's kimchi stew inside the refrigerator, help yourself to it."
Jimin opens the fridge, takes the kimchi stew and puts it in the microwave. He waits a couple of minutes and puts it into a bowl that takes to the couch. He eats it while silently crying as he looks miserably to Tangie's favorite toys.
"Why don't you just call him?" Jimin is lying down on the living room floor. Jungkook is moving around the kitchen making dinner for the puppies. Taehyung looks at him sadly from the couch where he's hugging Bam. Yeontan jumps down from the couch settling by his armpit on the floor.
"He doesn't want to see me. He's staying God knows where because he can't stand me." He hugs Yeontan to his chest and sniffles, morose and pathetic.
"Don't be so negative. Just text him, he left you food, he cares. If you don't do it, I will." Taehyung gets up, goes to Jimin's bedroom and unplugs his phone from the outlet. He bounces back and says: "Your call, pretty boy. Reach out and see what happens."
"Alright! But you have to cuddle me all night after he ignores me." He grumbles and begrudgingly takes the phone. Taehyung quietly replies I was going to cuddle you either way and rolls his eyes.

"He hates me!" He bawls into the floor. Bam gets down from the couch, starts snuffling around his hair and licks his ear, but he doesn't care. He just want the floor to swallow him and end his misery.
"Don't be so dramatic, oh my god. He doesn't hate you, he wouldn't have replied if he hated you." Jungkook grabs a blanket from the couch pulling it over Jimin and the dogs. It's too cold for them, he mutters and goes back to making their dinner.
"He hates me, he's never talking to me again and I'll never see Tangie because I'm stupid and hyung will never forgive me. I'm staying here in this floor forever. None of you can make me leave it!"
Jimin is not allowed to live on the floor like he wanted to. Taehyung makes him get up, and take the puppies to relieve themselves. He says Jimin need a task so now he's in charge of poop duty. Twice a day, he has to take them to the park so they can run around for a couple of minutes.
With the help and nagging of Taehyung, Jimin gets through the motions and tries to be a functional adult. He wakes up when he's told to, he showers when he's pushed into the bathroom and goes to work because Hoseok can't keep covering for him.
On the fourth day after Yoongi went to Jin and Namjoon's house, he runs into him face first when he has to dart into the elevator with both puppies sprinting ahead of him. It's Jungkook's damn fault, he makes them race to the elevator so they can burn the excess energy, so now they're conditioned to it.
So, Jimin enters the elevator sweaty and out of breath, holding onto both his knees and says: "Fifth floor, please."
"Sure." He stands up so fast he gets dizzy with the motion. Yoongi is not looking at him, he has crouched by the dogs height and is petting them soothingly. Yeontan keeps jumping around his legs while Bam is licking his face. The older man closes his eyes smiling kindly at them. The elevator starts moving and Yoongi stands up without making eye contact. "Jimin-ssi."
Jimin sucks in a quiet breath, tearing up. He just nods, looks at his shoes and stays silent while the elevator goes to their floor. Yoongi nods once when the elevator doors open, walking out of the small place. He's already by his door when Jimin manages to speak up.
"Wait!" He drags the dogs along, opens the door to his own apartment and ushers them inside. "I…" Yoongi is looking over his shoulder to the closed door of Jimin's apartment, but at least he's not leaving. "How… how are you?"
"I'm okay. You?" The older man is so polite again. There's no trace of the warmth he used to have around his crinkled eyes when he smiled at Jimin.
"I've been better… How's Tangie?" Jimin asks while biting the inside of his lip. The action draws the attention of Yoongi, but he looks away almost instantly.
"He's good, napping probably. Listen, I have to make dinner, so I'll leave—"
"No, wait, just wait a minute. We have to talk, about what you saw the other day—." He starts rambling on.
"No, we don't really need to. I'm tired, Jimin-ssi. I told you, I don't want to be in the middle of you and— I might have been okay with you ignoring me, but what I saw here? It just— it's better this way, don't you think? I won't be in the way anymore, so. Have a pleasant evening, yeah? Maybe if Hwan-ssi allows it, you can come visit Tang in the future." With that, he puts the code into the door and steps inside his apartment. It feels exactly like the last time they were here, except now, he can't blame Hwan for it.
Jimin is again trying to morph himself into the floor. Yoongi keeps leaving boxes of food on the pink glittery stool every two days and Jimin leaves a simple tangerine by Yoongi's door. The older man once said it was his favorite, so even if Jimin can't be something simple for him, maybe he can give him simple desserts. Maybe he'll be remembered as the neighbor that just gave him fruits and not the over-complicated man that didn't keep his promise.
Of course, they don't let him live his new life as a cockroach on the carpet in the living room. They stop him, again. Jungkook picks him up, hauls him into his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and drops him on Taehyung's bed. Then, he follows suit and lies down too.
"You are giving a bad example to the puppies. They'll start thinking they can be carried around everywhere too." Jimin groans and tries to hide behind the duvet. Jungkook stops him before he can become one with the bedding. "You know, you weren't this sad when you found out about Hwan."
It's something he's been thinking too. With Hwan, he was annoyed at best. He thought he loved him, but maybe he was just used to Hwan just being there. With Yoongi, everything was exciting and fun. Yoongi gave him confidence to be himself, and Jimin never got to feel what it was to fully… love him. And that bothers him, because loving him might have been the greatest feeling ever, but now he'll never get to experience it because he fucked up. And worse of all, he'll never get to feel how Yoongi loves and that's so deeply distressing, he doesn't know how to cope.
"You know how you use to tell me you always wanted to have at least one love that made you feel what people in movies seem to feel, even if it didn't last?" Jungkook hugs him and nods by his shoulder. "I didn't even get to love him, not completely at least… and it could be like, yeah, whatever, I could move on from a relationship not working out. But thinking about not experiencing being loved by him? We weren't even in a relationship, we didn't even properly begin. He was everything I always dreamed of having, he gave me everything even though we were nothing and he's slipping through my fingers. I just wanted to feel his love and I wanted it to last."
"Hyung, come on, it's not over. You haven't even tried to explain it to him. The only time you saw him was in the elevator and you are too chickenshit to go over and clarify what hyung needs to hear. He's hurt because you still haven't told him you're not going back to Hwan. Why are you so scare of fixing things if you want him to love you so much?" Silent tears are going down Jimin cheeks, he sniffles wetly.
"What if… what if I'm not enough? What if I don't deserve his love?" That's the truth, isn't it? He thinks he doesn't deserve to be loved by him even though he wants to be burned by it.
"That's dumb, you are deserving of the love anyone wants to give you. I swear, Hwan made you so insecure when you are so good and kind. He never deserved you, but Yoongi-hyung does. He's not a perfect man, and neither are you, but of course you are worthy of his love, because he's worthy of yours too."
"I'm so—so scared."
"I know, you just need time to work out on your courage. I believe in you, and Taehyungie does too. Just… don't let that asshole decide your future, OK? He doesn't deserve that kind of power. I swear, I wanted to punch him so bad. But Tae would have gotten mad if I hurt myself, but if I see him again I'm knocking some teeth out of that ugly mug." Jimin chuckles and thanks the younger man.
He's not really sure how to fix things, everything is too muddy in his head, but he thinks that if he's worthy of his friend's love, which is all-encompassing and loyal, he can be deserving of Yoongi's love too. A scary kind of love, but a love that for the first time, might be real.
The week goes by and they don't see each other again. They still leave food in their stools by their doors. Jimin decides to pick up more classes at the studio in an effort to keep his mind out of things. For the most part, it works. At least until he gets to his apartment and hears Tangie meow through the closed door.
Hoseok tells him one day at the studio that he'll be celebrating his birthday on Saturday and that him and the puppies are invited. Jimin nods, then hesitates. "Is he…?"
"Is he going to be there? Yeah, at least for a little while, hyung's not big on parties, but Jin-hyung is making him go. He says it'll be the last time they'll be able to party as single men. Even though Namjoonie and him have been together for 6 years." Hoseok rolls his eyes and goes back to putting away the kid's shoes. Then, he looks at Jimin again, "You know, he'll never be mean to you, if that's what's worrying you."
"I know he'll never be mean, but I don't want to make him uncomfortable." Jimin thinks back at the elevator, when Yoongi wouldn't even look at him.
"Well, he needs to deal with it because I want you there. Also, we are all tangled in a way, us being friends and Jin-hyung being Kookie's cousin. You two need to learn to be around each other even if it's uncomfortable at first."
"Alright, hyung. We'll be there. Sorry if I put you in an awkward position. I want to fix things, but I don't feel brave enough yet." Jimin tells him as he sweeps the floor.
"It's okay, take your time, but not so much either. Hyung already thinks he's gotten the closure he needs, he'll move on if you don't tell him what's going on. I know you haven't told him the whole truth yet." Jimin nods and stays silent. He need to get his bearings sooner than later, he doesn't want to lose Yoongi over a misunderstanding, but the lingering fear hasn't left him yet. "For what is worth, I still think you two make a good couple. I'm rooting for you, Chim."
"Thanks Hobi-hyung."
Taehyung makes him wear the blue jeans he got him for his birthday, tight on the butt, and lose on the calves. He says it make his silhouette looks delicate like a flower you can't help to want to eat, whatever that means. He works in fashion anyway, Jimin thinks he knows what he's talking about. He pairs it with burgundy silk shirt, transparent at the back, and heeled boots. He puts on make up because even though he feels like shit, no need to look like it too. Taehyung and Jungkook are wearing their going out outfits, so Jimin wouldn't stand up if it wasn't that kind of party.
Hoseok's apartment is not far away from their building, but they decide to take a cab anyway due to the cold night. Jimin is squished between Taehyung and Jungkook in the back seat, both of them holding his hands. He's sure the driver thinks they're some type of poly couple, but he couldn't care less. He's on edge thinking of seeing Yoongi and his blank face. Taehyung keeps telling him that they can leave whenever he wants to.
Jimin hands over the money to the driver and they get off the car. Taehyung is holding him close, pushing his cheeks together making him look like a duck.
"It'll be okay, don't worry." Jimin nods belatedly. "Hyung will never be mean, not on purpose. He might be overly formal or distant, but never mean. Even so, if you feel like leaving, tell us and we'll go back to the apartment." Jungkook holds his hand and squeezes it tightly.
"Thanks guys, I don't know what I would do without you. Let's go in, I don't want anyone to see us standing here like villains plotting something." They enter the building, tell the doorman the apartment they are going to and take the elevator to the tenth floor.
The party is in full swing when they arrive. There are around fifteen people inside, which is a lot for the space. But, everyone seem to be having a good time. Hoseok spots them and bounces over to them embracing them all in a group hug.
"Jimin! Puppies!" Hoseok looks a little flushed, maybe he drank too many cocktails already.
"Hi Hobi-hyung." Jimin greets him while holding out his gift bag to Hoseok.
"Hi hyung." Jungkook hugs him again and Taehyung gives him the gift they bought together.
"Thank you, thank you! Gotta go, there's drinks by the kitchen, help yourself." Hoseok darts of to the living room and start jumping around from group to group talking to them. Ever the social butterfly.
"I could never do a party with all the people I know from different places, it seems tiring." Jungkook tells them while he takes Jimin and Taehyung's hands and starts pulling them in to the kitchen.
There are less people in there, but Yoongi's there too. There's a tall man fussing over him, brushing his hands over his clothes, moving around his hair, complaining about his posture. "Don't slouch, stand up straight." Yoongi rolls his eyes, mutters yes, mother and earns himself a swat to the back of his head. "That's right, I birthed you, now listen to me—"
"Jin-hyung!" Jungkook drops both their hands and rushes to his cousin who turns around just in time to catch him in a hug.
"Jungkookie, I missed you. When are you coming over the the house? You never visit anymore." Jimin has seen pictures of both Jin and Namjoon by now, so he's somewhat familiar with them, but he's never met them in person. He's sure Taehyung has though, but he's still choosing to remain by Jimin's side.
"Sorry, we've been staying with Jimin, so it's a little away from your house now. We'll try to go soon, you know the dogs love it." Jimin feels again that he's just inconveniencing them by making them stay in his apartment. Before he can dwell on it, Taehyung wraps his arm around him.
"I know you, so don't. We want to be there, now smile, they are looking our way." His friend mutters into his ear. Jimin looks up and sees four pairs of eyes staring at them. Jungkook beckons them closer.
"Hyungs, you know Tae already." Taehyung waves the hand that's not holding Jimin's. "This our friend Jimin." Jin looks at him judgmentally up and down for a couple of seconds, before Yoongi elbows him on the ribs and mutters something quietly to him.
"Yes, Jimin-ssi, we've heard so much about you. It's nice to meet you." Namjoon has a deep voice and kind eyes. When he smiles, his eyes disappear and dimples appear instead. He extends his hand for him to shake and Jimin thinks his words are genuine.
"Nice to meet you both." He bows slightly. Yoongi is still whispering to Jin, elbows him again and pushes his shoulder in Jimin's direction. Jin rolls his eyes, but complies.
"Nice to meet you. We've spoke on the phone once, that was fun." Now it's time for Yoongi to roll his eyes. Then, they settle on Jimin and he feels all the hairs in his neck stand up. They stare at each other for a couple of seconds, then he looks around the room.
"Hi, guys. Good to see you again." Yoongi smiles politely at them, excuses himself and goes to the living room to look for Hoseok. Jimin sighs, he wants to go home already.
"Come on, Chim. Let's get something to drink, Kook can stay here with his cousin." He says the last part with a little animosity. He grabs Jimin's hand taking him to the far end table where all the bottles are.
"Don't do that, don't be mean to Jin. He hates me already, he doesn't need to hate you too. You'll be part of his family eventually, you know how Jungkook loves him." There was a time when Jin was all Jungkook had, specially after he started dating Taehyung. He looks at Taehyung meaningfully.
"Well, I know how important he is and what he's done for Kook, but you are important to me and I'll defend you even if it means never speaking to Jin again." Taehyung hands him a glass with something pink in it and starts drinking from his own cup. Jimin thanks him and sighs. It's going to be a long night.
Jimin tries to engage in conversations with some of the people at the party, but he thinks he fails miserably. Still, he gets to know some of Hoseok's friends and former colleagues. All of them are nice, it would be hard to be a mean person and be a friend of Jung Hoseok. So, even though he feels anxious and stressed, he manages to engage in small talk. Taehyung stays by his side every moment, shooting daggers at Jin if he so happens to look wrongly at Jimin. Jungkook just rolls his eyes at both of them and tell Jimin not to worry, they are always butting heads.
Much like Jimin, Yoongi stays glued by Namjoon's side. He seems to be done with Jin antics, every time Jin starts stars fretting over him, Yoongi stands up and moves to the other side of the room. After a while, Jin gives up and goes to bother Jungkook who seems to glow under his cousin's attention. At least it's nice feeling that Yoongi is escaping from someone other than Jimin himself.
Yoongi looks nice, too nice in Jimin's honest opinion. He's wearing a white sleeveless shirt under a dark blue blazer and black slacks. He hasn't been able to stop looking at the older man, that's how he knows the shirt is sleeveless. Every time he moves, he can see a sliver of his shoulder and it drives Jimin mad. He could be kissing that spot, but like Jungkook said, he's too chickenshit to fix things. So, he looks from afar.
He's not even trying to be subtle anymore, he just looks at the older man. Taehyung gave up a long time ago and has stopped trying to making him be more discrete. So, Jimin just looks sadly at him. Sometimes, their eyes catch, and Yoongi smiles politely at him and breaks eye contact.
Since he's been staring at him, he sees when a petite lady starts speaking with Yoongi. He smiles warmly at her, eyes crinkled at the corners. He stands up to give her a hug and speaks to her animatedly. Jimin feels a strong pang of jealousy, so he closes his eyes and tries to take deep breaths. She's clearly interested, touches his arm a lot, twirls her hair around her finger and smiles coquettishly every time he's speaking. Jimin wants to yank him away from her and hide him where she can't touch him. So, he stands up, tells Tae he's going to the bathroom and leaves before he can do something stupid.
He passes by the kitchen and finds Jin alone making himself a drink. Jimin tries not to be seen, but it's too late and Jin stops him with a single look.
"You know, I thought you could be good for him." Jimin thinks he might be a little tipsy, Jin's words are a little slurred around the edges. Jimin goes to answer, but is interrupted by a raised hand. "Instead, you made him unhappy, why would you do that?"
"I—" Jimin doesn't know how to reply, he doesn't think it matters what he replies either way. He has no excuse. And Jin… Jimin was prepared to be mad at him for being mean to him, but Jin looks earnest, so deeply concerned and upset about Yoongi, that he can't even be angry at him. Jimin is also mad at himself for not being able to fix things. And now, Yoongi will move on with her or with someone else and Jimin will forever wonder about the what ifs. "I didn't mean to."
"The worse part is I know you didn't because Jungkook looks up to you so much, he could never be friends with someone evil or cruel. At least not deliberately, but Yoongi deserves better than someone that plays around with his feelings. Intentional or not." Jin takes a long sip of his drink before continuing: "I don't want you to get close to him again, you don't deserv—"
"Jin." Namjoon appears by the door with a serene smile and extends his hand for Jin to take. Jin goes to him without questioning anything.
"Joonie, I was just—"
"I know. But we promised. Jungkook is looking for you, he's in the living room. Go there, yeah?" Jin looks back at Namjoon, sighs, kisses his cheek and goes out the door. Namjoon stays and smiles at Jimin again. "Sorry about him, he's too protective. I love that about him, but sometimes he doesn't know when to stop."
"It's okay, I deserve it." Jimin takes a small sip of his drink and puts it on the table, he doesn't feel like drinking anymore.
"You don't." Jimin looks up at him. "You don't deserve to be mistreated by people that don't know the full picture or don't know you. You don't strike me as someone heartless, Jimin-ssi. On the contrary, I think you feel too much, but you seem… insecure. And while I'm not in the business of meddling like my fiance is, I do think Yoongi-hyung deserves something consistent and more than that, I think he's looking for someone that chooses him. But you didn't hear that from me." Namjoon smiles his dimpled smile at him and Jimin feels marginally better.
"Is he… did he move on already?" It's what's been bothering Jimin the most. Is he too late?
"He likes to think that he has, but he hasn't. But again, you didn't hear that from me." Jimin chuckles despite the heaviness of his heart. "But don't take that for granted either because when hyung decides to let go, there's no coming back. Don't look so discouraged, though. He still feeding you, isn't he?"
"Yeah, he is." Jimin smiles as he thinks about the pink glittery stool and how there's always something for him on it. "Thank you, for your kind words. I would have understood if you acted like Jin did, I know how much Yoongi means to both of you."
"He means the world to anyone who has the pleasure of being close to him. I know you felt that too, because it's impossible not to. And I trust that you'll be able to fix whatever it is that's stopping you. Because I've watched you all night looking at him, you don't even try to hide it anymore. And I know what Yoongi-hyung saw that day, but there isn't just guilt in the way you look at him, it's like you are pining over him, like it hurts you to be this close and not close enough. Now, that doesn't seem like someone who has gotten back with his ex should act, don't you think?" Jimin nods numbly. Namjoon is… exactly what everyone says he is. Too damn perceptive.
"You are precisely what I had picture when everyone described you." Namjoon chuckles as he grabs two cups from the kitchen counter filling them up with water.
"I'm rooting for you, Jimin-ssi. Jin-hyung is too, even if he doesn't show it. I hope to see you at the wedding." Jimin smiles at him and nods eagerly. "Now, if you excuse me, I need to give these to my boyfriend, otherwise, you'll be forced to sing songs about forgiveness while stripping. Ask Jungkookie, he can tell you more about it."
They sing happy birthday to a red-cheeked Hoseok that laughs so much during the night, that at one point he silently cackles and is only able to move his hands. Jimin stays glued to Taehyung's side resting his head on his shoulder, while trying not to look at the corner where Yoongi is still talking to the pretty lady.
"Tae, I think I want to leave." Taehyung grabs his hand, helps his stand up and goes to retrieve their coats.
"Sure, go tell Hobi-hyung we'll leave, I'll go get Kookie." Jimin nods and goes to the kitchen where he last saw Hoseok. Once he gets there, he finds Hoseok alone for the first time since the night began.
"Hobi-hyung, we're leaving." Hoseok grabs him and starts pressing kisses all over his face, thanking him profusely for his gift and coming to his party. Jimin laughs heartily and hugs him tight.
"You're leaving?" Jimin steps out of the embrace and finds Yoongi by the door.
"Yes, Tae went looking for Kookie and our coats." Jimin hugs Hoseok again and starts walking to the living room.
"Let me take you." Jimin stops in his tracks and looks back at Yoongi. "All of you, we live in the same building, I can take you, I drove here." Jimin hesitates, but thinks better of it. He's too tired to be in his presence anymore, it's been an emotional night.
"It's okay, we already called a cab. You should stay, that lady is waiting for you." Yoongi frowns and looks like he's about to tell him something, when they're interrupted by the lady calling over to him from where she's sitting. Jimin smiles politely, even though he knows the smiles doesn't reach his eyes. He bows once, and goes to look for his friends. The last thing he sees is Yoongi's hand stretched towards him as he's drag along by someone over the couch.

Goodnight (Sunday 01:27)
Jimin fusses over Yoongi the rest of the night. He's squished again between his friends and the dogs and it's not enough to calm down his anxiousness. He dreams of Yoongi and the pretty lady, of them marrying, of Jimin standing all alone in a room. He buries his face into Taehyung chest trying to calm down his racing heart.
He wakes up with a headache, goes to the bathroom and then plops himself into the couch. At some point the puppies join him and when Jungkook wakes up, he bundles the three of them into the blanket they keep in the couch. Then, he goes to make breakfast for all of them.
When Taehyung wakes up, he doesn't say a word either. He walks by the couch, drops a kiss on top of his head and heads for the kitchen. His friends bring him breakfast, the five of them eat quietly. Taehyung and Jungkook whisper to each other from time to time, but for the most part, they stay silent. At some point, Jungkook takes the dogs to the park, and it's just Taehyung and him for an hour.
His friend goes around the room cleaning, organizing and putting together their grocery list. Jimin stays on the couch, at some point he lies down and watches TV mindlessly. Then, promptly falls asleep. He wakes up by Yeontan jumping into the couch and Bam licking his face. He snuggles the dogs in the couch as Jungkook decides they'll order some food because he doesn't feel like cooking.
Jimin hasn't done much, but feels drained. Even after his nap, he wasn't able to rest, he still saw the pretty lady everywhere. He feels more exhausted than before. Jungkook announces to the room that the chicken will be there in twenty. Jimin nods, but says nothing. Taehyung joins him on the couch, hooks his arm around his shoulders and tucks him close to his body. They stay like that until the food arrives.
He barely eats, but Jungkook keeps insisting on feeding him, so he complies. He feels too full after a couple of bites and decides to take another nap on the couch with his friends comforting presence around him. The puppies join him again and he sleeps most of the evening away.
By the time he wakes up, it's around eight, but he's too tired to exist. So, he goes to the bathroom, brushes his teeth, and drops into his friend's bed, falling asleep almost immediately.
The next day, Jungkook wakes him up and tells him to take a shower to get ready for work. The morning is slow and tiring, he's still not in the best of moods. However, he thinks seeing the kids will make him feel better.
Well, it doesn't. The kids are cranky from waking up early on a Monday morning, don't listen and get cranky whenever they have to do what they are told. Jimin has been sporting a headache since yesterday and his patience is running thinner and thinner as the day drags along. By lunch, he scolds little Bominie and she starts crying and then he feels himself tear up. Hoseok intervenes and tell him to go home, again. Two times in less than two weeks.
"Jimin, just go, OK? You are in no state to teach today. Take tomorrow off too." Hoseok tries to be nice about it, but Jimin can tell he's actually annoyed at him. Jimin bows regretfully, grabs his things and goes out the door. He decides to walk home, to see if he can get his mind out of everything. He stops by a ice cream parlor to make him feel better. He gets the biggest strawberry ice cream and for a couple of minutes, it works and he feels a bit better. But then, a kid runs into him and makes him drop his ice cream into the floor it falls into his own shoe. Jimin yelps, tries to move his foot, but it's too late, the stickiness it's already slipping into his sock.
He almost starts crying, but doesn't give into the feeling. He will not be one of those people that cries in public places.
By the time he gets home, Jungkook and Taehyung are already there, standing by the kitchen and whispering to each other, looking worryingly in his direction. Jimin doesn't even bother to take off his shoes, he just gets inside, sits on the couch and squints at them.
"What is it?" He croaks out.
"Nothing." Taehyung says immediately. That's not suspicious at all. Jungkook glares at his boyfriend and looks nervously at Jimin.
"Tae, he has to know."
"Jungkook." Taehyung sighs shaking his head.
"Taehyung, what is it? Nothing could be worse than this day, just spit it out." Jimin is too tired to care about anything, to be honest.
"Jimin… I don't think you want to hear this." Taehyung goes to the couch, sits by his side and takes his hand.
"Please, I don't care anymore, just tell me." He sighs resting his head into the back of the couch.
"Alright… when Jungkook went to put the trash bag into the garbage chute… he ran into Yoongi— and that lady he was talking to Saturday night. They were leaving the apartment. Jungkook said hello and ran back inside." Jimin bobs his head up and down for a while but says nothing else.
Suddenly, all the emotions he's been pushing into the back of his head for the past two days come to the surface and he feels so much so fast, he starts to shake with the force of it. Oh, he cares, he cares so much. In fact, he cares so deeply, that before he knows it, he's opening the door and bolting to the hallway.
Yoongi is watering his plants. Last week had felt too long and he wasn't in the right state of mind to care for them. He sighs deeply, he feels too tired already. He shouldn't have stayed so late Saturday night, he still feels haggard, but after Jimin had left, he hadn't felt like coming to the building. So, he stayed until everyone left and helped Hoseok cleaning up the place.
He sighs again. Tang meows loudly once, demanding attention and food. He puts the watering can by the windowsill crouching down to pet the cat's little head. He meows again.
"I know you miss him. I do too." The cats starts purring and rubbing his face into his knees. The truth is Yoongi hadn't wanted to come back to the building because every time he had closed his eyes he had seen Jimin sad puppy eyes looking at him. At first, he tried to hide it, but after a while, he just stared at Yoongi while being tuck in next to Taehyung. And Yoongi had felt… some kind of hope. That whatever it was that he saw, actually meant nothing. But then, Jimin never said anything denying it, so Yoongi tried to move forward.
Jin went into protective mode that night Yoongi went to stay at their house. He kept threatening Jimin with vague words that Yoongi knew would never come true. Still, it was nice that Jin had his back. On the other hand, the day of Hoseok's birthday, he was outright rude. Thank god for Namjoon and his calming energy because Yoongi thinks he would have snapped otherwise.
Namjoon had told him afterwards that he had talked to Jimin and that he seemed like the person Yoongi had described. A bit shy, a bit insecure and a lot endearing. He kept it vague, but he told him not to give up, to wait a little for Jimin to pull himself together. And well, he trusts Namjoon's judgment better than he trusts his. When Jimin went to say goodbye to Hoseok, Yoongi had felt that need to take care of him, of making sure he was safe, but Jimin had looked so heartbroken when he rejected his offer, that he hadn't tried to push. But that look and those words stayed with Yoongi the rest of the night. Why would he care about Misun talking to him?
Yoongi keeps stroking Tang's fur as he sighs deeply again. That's until he's interrupted by a strong bang against his front door after it clashes to the wall. Tangie runs to the bedroom before Yoongi can do anything about it.
"Hyung, please, you can't— Tell me you didn't… I need you, please. I can't do this anymore, you wont look at me, I need—" Jimin is already crying. He's not making much sense and his cheeks and nose are tinted pink. Yoongi still thinks he looks beautiful.
"Jimin-ss—" Yoongi starts to say only to be interrupted by Jimin.
"NO! Stop calling me that. I'm Jimin-ah now! Please, I was just surprised when Hwan came in and he's so good at manipulating me and please—Yoongi, it hurts, and Hoseok scolded me today because I'm distracted and I snapped at the kids and little Bominie cried and then I almost crie—" Jimin starts rubbing his eyes with his fists, looks so small and distressed. It pulls at Yoongi's heartstrings.
"Jimin-ssi please breathe, you are making yourself pani—" He tries to use his most soothing tone, but it doesn't seem to work, because it gets Jimin more agitated. He goes to take his hand, but Jimin starts pacing around the room as he takes shallow breaths. It makes Yoongi worried, he seems to be to close to panic attack.
"Stop calling me that! And then Hoseok told me to get myself together and not to come tomorrow because it was affecting the little kids and— and— I tried to cheer myself up by getting an ice cream and it fell into my shoe and sock and I had to walk all they way here with a sticky sock and my shoe—If you don't want us to be friends anymore I understand but I can't keep— I need to know if you are moving on with that lady. I just need you and miss you and please, please, just— You keep bringing me food and you are so good to me and I don't deserv—
"Jiminie!" Yoongi grabs Jimin's face and holds it. Jimin is a babbling mess, he cries even harder when Yoongi holds him with an arm around his waist and a hand at the back of his neck. "You are okay, we'll be okay, but please stop crying, it's breaking my heart and making me scared for you. Breathe with me, okay? You're okay."
Jimin buries his face in his neck and holds him for dear life. He keeps mumbling please, please, please. Yoongi holds him, kisses his temple and rocks him slightly, trying to soothe him. At some point, Yoongi goes to put some distance to see Jimin's face, but he doesn't let him. Yoongi chuckles against his skin. He kisses his temple again and stays there, just holding him. They stay like that for a while longer, but then Jimin starts swaying on his feet.
"Jiminie, you need to sit down, you're about to fall down."
"No-uh. I don't want to, you'll stop holding me." Yoongi starts walking backwards until he hits the edge of the couch pulling Jimin with him. Jimin falls half on top of him and the other half between the back of the couch and Yoongi. He pulls the blanket over them, he can feel Jimin trembling in his arms. He doesn't think it's from the cold.
"Better?" Jimin nods, snuffles into his chest and hugs him tightly. Tangs meows jumping over the couch and settling on the other half of Yoongi's stomach. "He missed you, you know?"
"I missed him too," Jimin starts petting Tangie's head and the cat purrs loudly against Yoongi's chest. "I cried that afternoon I ate the stew you left for me while looking at his mouse toys." Jimin sniffles again as he rubs his face against the fabric of Yoongi's dress shirt. He holds him tighter and kisses his hair. They stay silent for a couple of minutes, just holding each other and absently petting Tang.
"You know we need to talk, right?" Jimin stills in his arms and looks up at Yoongi's face. He starts rubbing his hand up and down the younger man's back, comforting him. "Not now, one emotional rollercoaster was enough for the day, but we have to."
"I know." Jimin begins to settle and his breathing gets even. He starts nodding off against his shoulder.
"Jiminie, you'll fall asleep." He mumbles something unintelligent and his body gets heavier against Yoongi's. "We can't fall asleep like this. I'm wearing a button down and slacks. Let's change into something more comfortable, okay? Wanna go back to your apartmen—?" He's interrupted by a loud and petulant No! And gets hugged tighter. "OK, I'll lend you some clothes. Let's go to the bedroom, yeah? No funny business, I promise." He smiles at Jimin and kisses his cheek after they sit up. The younger man looks down, looking a bit shy.
"Alright… but I want to be the little spoon." Yoongi laughs, takes his hand and drags him to the bedroom. He give Jimin his comfiest pair of pajamas bottoms and an old t-shirt from college that's too small on him. Then, he gives him a spare toothbrush pushing him into the bathroom.
Yoongi takes his time getting ready for bed. Goes to the guests' bathroom to brush his teeth. After changing, he gets inside the bed where it's warmer. He waits patiently as Jimin gets ready in the bathroom.
Jimin comes out looking sheepish and tells him: "I'm sorry, I can go back to my apartment and stop botherin—"
"Jiminie, just come here, it's been a long day and I'm tired and want to hold you. Just come, okay?" Jimin runs into the bed, gets in, complains about cold feet and rests his head against Yoongi's shoulder. Yoongi touches his face, traces his puffy eyes.
"Your eyes will be so swollen tomorrow." Yoongi tsks and shakes his head.
"It doesn't matter, I'm not working tomorrow."
"Are you sure? I can get you one of those cooling eyes masks, I have some of them in the freezer. Jin-hyung always stacks them in there, he complains that I don't sleep enough. I can go get it." Jimin shakes his head and presses his face against Yoongi's chest.
"No, don't go, let's stay like this, please?" Yoongi sighs and settles again in bed. He starts rubbing his hand up and down the younger man's back. Having Jimin in his arms feels great, after what they went through. Like he can breathe a little easier. At some point, Tangie jumps into the bed and lies down by their feet. Jimin starts squirming after a couple of minutes.
"What is it?"
"Wanna be the little spoon." Yoongi laughs quietly changing their positions. Yoongi decides it's better if he puts a pillow between Jimin's butt and his crotch. Jimin starts cackling.
"What? I'm not God's strongest soldier. We need a barrier here. It's a really nice butt." Jimin laughs and scoots closer still, even with the pillow between them. Yoongi remembers they didn't even eat dinner, but figures it doesn't matter for now. He'll make something quick for them in case they wake up in the middle of the night.
Yoongi brings his arms around him and kisses the back of his neck. "Let's sleep. We'll be okay, yeah?" Jimin nods, holding onto Yoongi's arms around his waist very tightly. Tangie stands and starts walking closer to them, settling by Jimin's stomach. After days of uncertainty they fall asleep in a mess of limbs.
Jimin feels like he slept for days. After two weeks of emotional turmoil, he finally feels like his body rested. Still, he pouts, Yoongi is not in the bed with him. There a nice smell in the air though.
"Hey, you're awake." Yoongi is walking through the door holding a food tray. He leaves it on the night table. His hair is a little damp from the shower and he's already wearing work clothes. So, Jimin pouts harder. Yoongi crouches by the bed brushing Jimin's hair away from his face. He puts his hand by the side of his face, chuckles and kisses his cheek. "Don't sulk, I have to go to work." Yoongi kisses his temple too and Jimin feels a lot better. "I made you breakfast, you are welcome to stay in here with Tangie all day if you want."
"Really?"
"Yes, Jiminie, there's lunch in the fridge too." Jimin smiles blindingly.
"Do you have to leave right now?"
"I have twenty minutes, why?" Jimin starts pulling on Yoongi's waist until he complies and lies down on the bed. The older man sighs, fake put out. Jimin scoots closer and lies down half on top of him and half on the bed. He can hear Tangie nibbling on his food by the kitchen. It feels nice, being together like this, just enjoying each other. Yoongi runs his fingers through Jimin's hair and he thinks he could fall asleep like that again.
"Don't fall asleep on me. I have to leave in fifteen minutes." Jimin glowers at him and the older man chuckles.
"Why can't you stay?"
"Normally I could, but I have a big meeting with a client. You can stay here and we'll talk after I come from work or I'll go looking for you at your apartment, okay?" Jimin nods and looks down apprehensively.
"OK." He mumbles quietly.
"Don't do that. You worry too much, it'll be difficult, but we are okay now and we'll be okay then after we talk." Jimin nods again feeling a little better. He smiles and goes to kiss Yoongi's cheek. The older man moves his face and the kiss lands in the corner of his mouth. It feels too good, to be this close to Yoongi. So he says fuck it, takes his face in his hands and kisses him square on the mouth. Yoongi adjusts his hands against his waist, breathes hard and deepens the kiss.
They both gasp into each others mouths and Yoongi takes the opportunity to push the tip of his tongue against Jimin's. Jimin whines, Yoongi groans and they break the kiss, both panting against each other.
"You really are trying to make stay here, aren't you?"
"Is it working?" Jimin starts peppering kisses along his jaw and neck.
"Yes, but—" Yoongi groans again when Jimin suck a little bit on his jawline.
"No buts." Jimin is panting still, way too worked up from a couple of kisses. It only gets worse when Yoongi flips them and ends up with Jimin's tights bracketing his hips. Jimin take advantage of their position and crosses his legs behind the other's back and holds his face again and kisses him for all his worth. He moves his hands to the back of Yoongi's hair and pulls a little.
Yoongi moves his hands from where they were staying against his hips on top of the bed, putting them inside the shirt Jimin is wearing. He moves them against the ridges of his torso and Jimin whines again when he feels the older man's thumb against his ribs. Yoongi pinches him once, Jimin yelps and the older man stands up as fast as he can from the bed. Jimin goes to take a hold of him again, but Yoongi exclaims: "Get back, you demon!"
"But hyung…" He whines and pouts as hard as he can. Yoongi looks debauched. His hair is a mess, his clothes are askew and his nose and cheeks look a little too rosy, he looks a bit drunk.
"Oh, my god. I should have known that cherub face was a facade. You are wicked." Yoongi exclaims, panting. Jimin stands up and goes to hug him before Yoongi can say no. "Don't pull your dirty tricks on me, Jimin. I really have to go. And now I need to go to make myself presentable, again."
"Fine, but you owe me kisses later."
"Whatever you say, baby." Jimin preens under the nickname and pecks Yoongi innocently. He kisses him again. And again. Yoongi gets a little into it, but by the time Jimin is pressing in his tongue, the older man grabs his hips and pushes him back in bed. He narrows his eyes, shakes his head and says: "Behave, Jiminie. By the way, check you phone. Taehyung blew up mine last night after you didn't answer him."

"Sorry you had to deal with him, I know how he can get." Yoongi has put on his coat by now and is standing by the bathroom mirror trying to tame his hair.
"It's fine, I knew what I was getting into, he's not very subtle. I don't mind, I like that they are protective. I couldn't even be mad when he threaten me." Yoongi muses absently running his finger through his hair.
"He threaten you?!" He's going to kill Kim Taehyung.
"After telling me I was the best for taking care of you, measuring my neck for my wedding tie and asking me about wine preferences, sure, he told me to never break your heart or he'll break my jaw. Jungkook didn't even say a word, he just looked at me and flexed his arms, body builder style." Yoongi chuckles as Jimin worries, he doesn't want Yoongi to feel pressured by his friends. After a couple of seconds, Yoongi gives up with his hair and takes Jimin hand, pulling a little until they're closer to each other. "Jiminie, it's fine. I don't care. You should hear what Jin-hyung had to say." Yoongi kisses him and he lingers for a while.
"I know, he was mean to me, but I deserved it." Yoongi shakes his head and hugs him close by the waist.
"You didn't, but his heart was in the right place, still he shouldn't have. I'll talk to him, yeah?" Jimin nods against the older man's shoulder. Yoongi kisses his temple. "Now, I really have to go. I'm late and look indecent, thanks to you. I'll see you later, baby."
Jimin spends most of the day rolling around in bed with Tangie. They nap, a lot. The pillows smells like Yoongi's perfume, so every time he buries his face in it, he feels himself nodding off. He eats what was left for him and naps again. Around three in the afternoon, he showers at Yoongi's apartment, but forgets he doesn't have any clean clothes, so he decides to go back into his apartment wearing only a towel. He opens the door, looks to both sides of the hallway and bolts down to his place.
"Well, well, well. If this isn't a walk of shame, I don't know what is." Taehyung is waiting by the kitchen counter while Jungkook drinks some lemonade. Jimin decides to ignore them and runs to his bedroom. "Don't think you can run away from me, I'm getting all the details." He tries to close the door, but Taehyung is faster and puts his foot in. Jimin huffs, but decides to get dress either way.
"At least let me put on some underwear." He grumbles.
"Nothing I haven't seen before, but fine. Now that you are a taken man, I'll allow you some privacy." Taehyung moves from the closet to the bed and drops on top of it. Jimin gets dressed as fast as he can, he wants to go back to Yoongi's and wait for him there. He goes to the bed and lies down by his friend's side. Taehyung snuggles him immediately. They hear the front door closing, Jungkook must have taken the puppies to the park. "How are you?"
"I'm happy." He answers truthfully. He hasn't really been able to process everything, but that much he knows is true. He feels ecstatic.
"Did you two talk?" His friends runs his fingers through his hair.
"Not really, we'll talk after he comes home from work. I kinda freaked out in front of him, babbled and cried, but I think the important part came across. That Hwan is not in the picture, at least not as he thought." He'll make sure Yoongi knows everything, but especially that part, it was the root of all the misunderstanding, after all.
"That's good. Did you do the nasty?" Taehyung squawks when Jimin pinches him. "The people want to know Jimin."
"No, we didn't. We did kiss though." Jimin thinks back at their kiss and blushes. It was a great kiss, he still feels his lips tingling. He likes the feeling of Yoongi's lips against his. "I really like him, Tae. I don't think I ever liked Hwan in the way I like Yoongi-hyung. He makes me feel safe and taken care of, like I can be myself. That he'll like me even when I don't like myself."
"Oh, Chim. I'm so happy for you. I know you two need to talk, but I know everything will be fine. Last night, you were passed out, but Kookie and me went to his apartment and we talked. He's good, and he cares for you in a way Hwan never did. And I feel at peace, when I know he's with you, he'll never let anything bad happen to you, not on purpose." Jimin nods and tears up. Taehyung and Jungkook have been with him every step of the way, they know how bad it was sometimes.
"I'm glad you like him. And I know you threatened him." Jimin pinches Taehyung again and he doesn't even bother to look guilty. He shrugs his shoulders.
"What did you expect? Of course I did. But don't worry, he's good, we'll go wine tasting in two weeks."
Jimin decides to wait at Yoongi's apartment. He initially wanted to read a little, but ended up falling asleep again when Tangie jumped in bed with him. The cat is just too soft and warm. He wakes up by Yoongi pressing kisses into his neck as he snuggles him from behind.
"Hi, baby. Did you sleep well?" Jimin nods and turns around. He cups the older man's face and kisses him softly.
"Mm-hm. Tangie and I took a lot of naps." Yoongi chuckles and pecks him.
"I'm glad. Want to eat dinner? Let me change and I'll make us something."
"Why don't I order food? You should rest today so you can hug me instead." Jimin pouts teasingly at him.
"Fine, let me order something then." He goes to grab his phone, but Jimin is faster than him.He picks up his phone and orders fried chicken before Yoongi can argue.
"You always cook, let me get this for you." Yoongi rolls his eyes fondly, but doesn't argue. He kisses him on the forehead and gets up to change his clothes. After taking a shirt, a sweater and some pants from the closet, he enters the en-suite bathroom. Jimin plays nervously around in his phone. He knows there's nothing to worry about, but still, he can't get rid of the nerves altogether.
With Hwan, every conversation felt like walking into a mine field. He was constantly belittled for thinking and wanting different things. He wasn't allowed to have an opinion, he just went along with whatever he was told to do. It was the main reason Taehyung and Jungkook hated him so much, his ex made Jimin be a different person. Jimin was too scared to lose him to act like he wanted. Yoongi has never made him feel like that, but there's this underlying feeling of unease that will not leave his mind.
"How long until the food gets here?" Jimin jumps a little, startled. Yoongi walks into the room wearing a worn out black sweater and gray sweatpants. He leaps into the bed and lies down on top of Jimin. Jimin huffs but brings his arms around the older man's shoulders and starts stroking his hair. Yoongi kisses his chin, then pushes his face into Jimin's neck.
"Fifteen minutes, I think. Wanna watch a movie while we wait?" Jimin asks absentmindedly. Yoongi hums, but shakes his head.
"We should talk, don't you think?" He goes to stand up, but Jimin tightens his arms around him. Yoongi goes down again. "Jiminie, it's okay. Nothing will change."
"I trust you, but I'm still scared." He pauses for a few seconds. "Can we talk like this? I think it will help me with the anxiety." Yoongi moves up to hover a little in front of Jimin, he looks at him in the eyes, smiles sweetly at him and kisses him softly for a few seconds. He kisses his cheek and goes to lie down in the previous position.
"Whatever you need, Jiminie. I'll even start asking the questions if it helps you." Jimin hugs him close and nods against his temple. He rubs his hands up and down the other man's back in a soothing motion. Although he thinks he's mostly comforting himself. "First, I just want to know something. Did you know Hwan was coming back before I ran into you two in the hallway?" Jimin nods his head.
"Yes, about a week before he sent Tae a message saying he was coming to fix things, since I have him blocked. I freaked out, that's… that's why I stopped coming and replying to you. I was scared you would leave and in the end I made things much worse." He answers sadly. Yoongi nods against his neck.
"I mean, yes, I think you could have handled things a little better, but I don't want you to feel guilty about things that are already done, I just want to know the missing pieces, OK?" He nods and takes one of Yoongi's hands by his chest and starts playing with his fingers. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was afraid I was going to disappoint you." He replies truthfully. "You deserve something uncomplicated and here I was bringing my ex into something that was just… beginning."
"Maybe it never crossed my mind that your ex would try to win you over, but it's not like I didn't know he existed. I know I told you I wanted things to be simple, but that doesn't mean I don't expect problems. I just meant that I want us to communicate." Yoongi brings Jimin hand closer and kisses his palm. "I like you, messy ex and all."
"I understand that now. I want you to know that what you saw in the hallway, it has nothing to do with what I feel for you. He kept pushing me, pressuring me, telling that I was exaggerating and he was forcefully trying to kiss me and I think my mind just went off. I wanted him to get it over with, I feel overwhelmed and then you came out of the elevator and it was much, much worse. You looked at me— even when we were strangers from across the hallway, you never looked at me like that and it made me so sad, but there was this part of me that thought that I deserved it." Jimin doesn't realize he's crying until he's moved to his side and Yoongi cups his face rubbing his thumbs across his cheeks.
"What do you mean?" Jimin buries his face into Yoongi's chest and the older man holds him close.
"There this voice in my head sometimes, when things get difficult, that says that I'm not enough. I'm not good enough for someone like you, especially when I bring problems to your life. So, it's easier to hide, that's why I didn't explain things right away, because I was scared you would agree… with me. And I couldn't handle that. In the end, everything I kept bottling up ended up exploding and I ran in here yesterday."
"Jiminie, I don't want you to think of me as some perfect man, because I'm not. There's a lot about me you don't know and I'm not saying I was evil, but I've made mistakes, some worse than others. I don't want you to be afraid of talking to me, of explaining when something bothers you or makes you sad. Just talk to me, maybe I'll get mad sometimes, that doesn't mean I don't want to be with you." Jimin nods and hugs him closer. Yoongi presses kisses into the crown of his head until he stops shaking.
"I'll need a lot of reassuring." Yoongi laughs quietly.
"It's okay, I don't mind reassuring you. Anything else you want to know?" Jimin looks at Yoongi's eyes and pouts.
"Who was the lady that was at your apartment yesterday?" Yoongi looks at him for a couple of seconds, then bursts out laughing. "Yah! Don't laugh at me!"
"I'm not, I swear. It's just that you look very cute right now, you're wearing your angry brows." Jimin grumbles as Yoongi grins, gums showing. It's hard to be mad at him when he smiles like that. "She's Misun, just a coworker. I had to do a presentation with her today at the company, that's why she came here."
"I don't like her, she was flirting with you on Saturday." Yoongi shakes his head and kisses his pout away. It's really hard to be mad at someone when they kiss you like that too. "Don't try to kiss away my concerns."
"Is it working?"
"Yes, but I still don't like her. She kept touching you and twirling her hair around her finger, she was corny." Yoongi starts to kiss his neck and Jimin's resolve crumbles. He's pushed against the bed again, Jimin threads his fingers through Yoongi's head and holds him close. After weeks of heartache and anxiousness, nothing beats how pleased he feels right now.
"Jimin, I don't like her, I don't want her. I cook for you almost everyday, do you think I do that with everyone else? You can ask Jin-hyung, he keeps pestering me about cooking privileges and how he should have them because he carried me in his womb. Don't ask about that, he thinks he's funnier than he actually is. The point is, I don't care what she wants, to be honest, I didn't even notice. I was too busy looking at you that night. You looked very pretty, did I tell you that?" Yoongi slips his hands inside Jimin's shirt as he kisses his jaw.
"You didn't."
"Very, very pretty. My pretty Jiminie." Jimin squirms and brings one leg around Yoongi's hip. He feels a rush of pleasure at those words.
"You looked beautiful too, I had never seen you in a sleeveless shirt, that's why she was pissing me off. She was too close and I was sad and away and—" He's interrupted by Yoongi kissing him. He pushes his tongue inside Yoongi's mouth immediately and Jimin moans unabashedly. Yoongi breathes heavily bringing them impossibly closer together. There's nothing soft about the kiss, just pent up energy. Yoongi sucks on his tongue and Jimin almost loses it, he's about to brings his other leg around the man's hips when the doorbell rings. They pull apart with a wet pop and Jimin whines. "Why did I had to order food?"
"This is why I wanted to cook. Now I have to answer the door with a boner."
They end up eating the chicken on the couch as they watch TV. Tangie jumped into Jimin's lap the moment he sat down and is napping away. After they're done eating, Yoongi brings his arm around his shoulders and brings him closer. He touches Jimin's hair around his nape and pulls it a little.
"It's getting so long. I like it, you look lovely, it suits you so much." He gets closer and kisses Jimin's cheek. He smiles wide and happy.
"Would you ever tell me if you didn't like anything I wore?"
"What? Why would I not like anything? Don't be silly. You could wear trash bags and it would look good on you." And Jimin feels a surge of feelings so strong, he doesn't know what to do with it, so he kisses Yoongi.
"I'm really glad I met you, hyung."
"Do you want to go on a date with me?" Jimin asks one evening, a couple of days after the big blowup. They're eating the dessert Jimin brought for the evening. They still haven't done the nasty, as Taehyung keeps reminding him. He's been teased relentlessly by his friends for having blue balls, even though it's been less than a week. They haven't even sleep together again in the same bed since that night. Jimin's been trying to be a gentleman like his eomma taught him and Yoongi hasn't asked him to stay either, he thinks he's following along to whatever pace Jimin sets. Which is nice, too nice even.
Jimin knows he's being silly, if he wanted he could ask him to stay, to spend the night, but he's still a bit insecure about himself. He's working on it, but for now, he needs reassuring. So, plan B it is. A date.
"Of course, Jiminie. When do you want to go? I'll look for reservatio—"
"No! I mean, let me look for a place. You're always doing things for us, I want to do a nice thing for you, OK?" Yoongi smiles, eyes crinkled and cups Jimin's face in his big hands and kisses him hard. Jimin gulps once and relaxes his shoulders a little. He brings his hands to hold Yoongi's wrists. He didn't even realize he was tense.
"Yes, that's okay. Tell me when and where." Jimin smiles and pecks him again.
"On Saturday, I'll pick you up at seven."
"Want me to drive?" Jimin thinks about it and nods.
"Sure, I'll make sure the restaurant has a parking lot."
"How formal are we talking about? Do I need to ask Taehyung for the suit he told me he already has for me?" Jimin scowls and shakes his head.
"Nothing that formal. More like what you wore for Hobi-hyung's party. It looked really good on you." More than good, even through the sadness he felt that evening, he hasn't been able to get the sleeveless shirt-suit jacket combo out of his head.
"Now, baby, is there another kink I should know about? Is it like when people like it when women keep the heels in bed? Because I could be down for that."
Taehyung makes sure Jimin looks his best. He brings Jimin a dark and tight button down sweater that puts inside a pair of black leather pants making his waist look cinched and his ass stand out.
"You are definitely getting laid tonight, my Chim." Taehyung compliments him while Jungkook just nods from where he's perched against the kitchen counter and tosses two small packets at Jimin.
"No party without a hat." He singsongs. Jimin rolls his eyes, but keeps the sachets inside his jacket's pocket, just in case.
"Be careful and if you come back to this apartment, I'm tossing you out." Taehyung kisses both his cheeks and pushes him out the door, complaining to Jungkook that there's still so much to do before tying the knot. Jimin rolls his eyes, Taehyung has sure kept the joke going for too long. He supposes he's not harming anyone either way. He knocks on Yoongi's door and waits a couple of minutes.
Yoongi comes out and Jimin almost swallows his tongue. He's wearing black slacks and black shoes, but that's not surprising. What is surprising is the sand color sweater he's wearing, with a big open V-Neck in the middle. He's not wearing anything underneath it. Jimin can see his collarbones. Yoongi kisses him, but Jimin doesn't really respond. He's still too preoccupied with all the skin he can see. Oh, this is worse, much worse than the fitted tank top he wore to Hoseok's birthday.
"Jiminie?"
"Hold on, I can see your collarbones, I need a moment." Yoongi gives him his best gummy smile and catches his chin in his hand. He forces him to look up. Jimin gulps.
"I'm going to kiss you and you are going to kiss me back, yeah? No more collarbones for you unless I say so."
"I knew you had a power kink—" Yoongi shushes him and gives him a wet fat kiss that lingers. Jimin sighs and brings his hands to cup the older man's face.
"Hi, hyung." He kisses him again, just because he can.
"Hi baby, ready to go?"
Jimin gives Yoongi the direction of the restaurant and he puts it into the car navigation system. He had made Jungkook ask Jin about Yoongi's favorite restaurant and after Jungkook had threaten to share about the time he had a rash in his ass from fucking Namjoon on the bushes outside their dorm in college, as part of his wedding speech, Jin had cave in and gave the name. Namjoon had been listening and graciously told Jungkook to let Jimin know that Yoongi's favorite dish was bulgogi.
So now, they're on the way to the restaurant. Yoongi puts on low music as they wait in traffic. Jimin reaches out and takes his right hand from the driving stick resting their joined hands on top of his thigh. He runs his thumb against the back of Yoongi's hand, waiting for the light to turn green. The older man brings his hand to his lips and kisses it before grabbing the steering wheel again. Jimin smiles and caresses Yoongi's nape for the rest of the drive.
When they arrive, Yoongi parks the car and goes out the door before Jimin can unbuckle his seatbelt. He opens Jimin's door and extends his hand for Jimin to take. He smiles gratefully, Yoongi smiles back, kisses his cheek and closes the car door as he pulls Jimin into the restaurant.
They give the hostess the name for the reservation and are lead to their table. A waitress arrives soon to take their order. Jimin choses for both of them before Yoongi can protest. Yoongi shakes his head fondly, then he gives a nod. They waitress takes their orders and bows down before leaving.
"Who did you bribe to get this information?"
"What do you mean, hyung? I only pay attention to everything you say, like a good… friend would." Yoongi narrows his eyes and looks teasingly at him. "Fine, I asked Jungkook to call Seokjin-ssi and he told me about the restaurant. Namjoon-ssi mentioned the bulgogi, though."
"How did you convince Jin-hyung to tell you?" The waitress comes back with their drinks and leaves again.
"I didn't. Kookie blackmailed him with a toast at their wedding and he caved in immediately. Namjoon-ssi did it without being asked." Yoongi chuckles taking a sip from his soda. He had told Jimin that since he was driving, he would not drink, he didn't want to put Jimin or anyone at risk. So, Jimin decided to drink a mock-tail.
"Yeah, that checks out. He's very stubborn, he wouldn't have given you the information willingly."
"He really hates me, doesn't he?" It's something that worries Jimin from time to time. Jin is one of the most important people in Yoongi's life, he doesn't know how things could work out if Jin doesn't come around.
"He doesn't. I think he's upset about being wrong, because he actually likes you a lot, he has since you took care of me when I was sick. But he doesn't like being wrong, so when that whole Hwan situation happened, I think he blamed himself for trusting you too easily. Now that things are good again, he doesn't want to be wrong for a second time, so he's being a toddler instead of just giving up the pretense of not liking you." Jimin nods, he can relate a little to Jin, he would be upset too if someone hurt Taehyung, Jungkook or Hoseok.
"Do you think he'll ever be okay with me?" Jimin bites the skin around his thumb. Yoongi tuts, takes his hand and rests them on top of the table.
"Of course, you just have to bring him some of those desserts you make and he'll cave right away. I'll even tell you his favorite. Why do you think he became a chef? He's a foodie, nothing can beat a good dessert." Yoongi pauses, smiles and continues, "How do you think Joonie won him over? Both of them gained five kilos when they started dating. After that, Jin-hyung made Namjoon promised to keep the desserts for their anniversary only."
Jimin laughs and shakes his head. "If you're sure…"
"Hey, Jin-hyung knows what I feel about you and he will not be a problem. He might be annoying at times, but that's it." Jimin nods and Yoongi cups his face with one hand. He brushes his thumb against his cheek and smiles at Jimin. "Enough about Jin, this is our date. Wanna walk along the river after dinner?"
Yoongi praises de bulgogi like he never had eaten in the restaurant before. They're walking along the river, holding hands. Jimin's thin jacket does nothing to protect him from the cold, just makes him look good, but he tries to forget about it, he's having a nice time walking together. For all the time they know each other, they haven't really spend time together outside their apartments. Still, he's cold to the bones.
Yoongi doesn't seem to notice at first, talking animatedly about the Holly, the dog he used to have with his brother, but once he moved out, he decided it was best he's stayed with his hyung. He missed him so much, a couple of months later he decided to get Tangie. Jimin nods along, decides to sneakily put their joined hands inside Yoongi's coat pocket and sighs at the warmth as he shivers. Yoongi turns around frowning at him. He looks adorable wearing a beanie and a scarf too.
"Why haven't you said anything about the cold?" He scowls and shakes his head. Jimin decides to hide his face in Yoongi's scarf and is welcomed by his perfume and his pleasant heat. Yoongi opens the button of his long coat hugging him inside it. "Jimin-ah, you need to tell me when you are uncomfortable. I don't want my boyfriend to be cold."
Jimin stiffens and mumbles, "I'm your boyfriend?"
"Do you want to be my boyfriend?" The older man asks as he rubs his palms along Jimin's back.
"It doesn't really sound like you are asking me to be. It's like you are asking me if I want to be your boyfriend." Yoongi laughs and holds him closer.
"That doesn't really make sense, you know."
"It does too. Ask me properly!" Jimin whines into his neck and stomps his foot. Yoongi takes his face in his warm hands making him look up. Jimin juts his lower lip.
"Jimin, you are the most wonderful man I've met and my life's been a lot happier since. Cleaning your shoe was the best thing I've ever done. Would you like to be my boyfriend, baby?"
"Of course I want to be your boyfriend, but why did you have to mention the shoe? I will never hear the end of it from Jungkook, he lives to make fun o—" He's interrupted by Yoongi's lips against his own. They feel warmer than usual in the freezing cold of the night, but Jimin doesn't mind, he's too content to care. He hums happily and keeps kissing Yoongi. Eventually, he shivers again from the cold. Yoongi rolls his eyes, takes his coat and makes Jimin wear it. He keeps the hat and the fluffy scarf. "Hyung, you'll get sick."
"It's a short walk to the car, we're going home. Don't sulk, we'll do this again and you'll be wearing appropriate clothes. Don't get me wrong, you look beautiful, but I rather you be warm. Let's go."
When they get to the building, they're both warmer from the car's AC. They stay pressed together inside the elevator, for body heat related reasons, obviously. When they arrive at their floor, they stay on the hallway just looking at each other. Jimin huffs and complains, "Well, aren't you asking me over?"
"Please, I am a gentleman. I don't put out on the first date." Yoongi hugs him and Jimin crosses his arms around his shoulders. The older man presses smalls kisses on his neck.
"Don't play coy, now. I felt little Yoongi before, you know?" Jimin teases. Yoongi gasps, offended.
"There's nothing little about Yoongi Jr, take that back!" The older man squeezes his waist making Jimin giggle.
"Why don't you show me, then?" Jimin takes his face in his hands, kissing him hungrily. He thinks he hears a cheer from his own apartment, but can't be sure as he's pushed against the older man's apartment door.
"You play dirty, baby. I should have known." Yoongi whispers into his mouth as he puts the code in the door. It opens with a click and Jimin almost falls to his ass, but Yoongi catches him and hauls him up by the waist and Jimin wastes no time in crossing his legs around the older man. He loses the coat he's wearing, hums and nips at the other man's neck as he carries him around the apartment to the bedroom.
"You're surprisingly stron—" Jimin breaks his sentence when Yoongi grabs his butt and squeezes him. The movement make him rub his crotch in front of the other man's pants. He moans and goes move again, but he's suddenly dropped into the bed. Before he can complain, Yoongi follows him down and puts one of his legs between Jimin's. He pushes down and Jimin moans again.
"I don't think that's the compliment you think it is, baby. But I'll allow it for now." Jimin nods taking Yoongi's scarf and hat off. He latches his mouth against the pale skin of his collarbones, like he had wanted to do since he saw him in the tan sweater. Yoongi groans in pleasure and starts unbuttoning Jimin's back sweater. After he gets it open, he touches his abs reverently. "I've felt them before, but seeing them... You are unreal."
Jimin blushes down to his chest, but he's too turned on to care. He starts unbuttoning Yoongi's sweater before giving up and pulling it up the other man's head like a shirt. He flips them and ends up with Yoongi on his back between his hips. He tosses his own sweater and rubs the palm of his hands on the milky white skin in front of him. He's so broad, the clothes he wears hide the real span of his shoulders. Yoongi puts his hands on the upper part of his thighs and strokes them, before moving them to his hips. His hands are also large, so the tip of his fingers are able to grab most of his butt in the process.
"You need to wear more fitting clothes, why are you hiding all of this? Oh my god, I think I came a little just by looking at your chest. Don't tell Jungkook." Yoongi huffs a laugh shaking his head. He sits in bed and hold Jimin close. He takes the opportunity to move his hands along the naked skin of his shoulders and starts kissing the place his hands touch. "Seriously, I'm raiding your closet and throwing out every loose shirt you own."
"Like you're one to talk, you have abs Jiminie, plural. You know how unfair that is?" Yoongi grabs the back of Jimin's head and pulls it to the side and mouths wetly at his neck. Jimin moans and buckles his crotch seeking friction. Yoongi doesn't make him wait and grabs his ass and pulls him against him. "Jimin, I need to know of you think we're doing this too soon or not, because if your not sure, we need to stop right now."
"Yoongi, I've been waiting for this since you cleaned up my shoe. We're not doing this soon enough." The older man doesn't waste time and flips them again and starts pulling at Jimin's tight pants. He grunts and pulls and doesn't get very far down with the garment.
"How the hell did you get this on?" Jimin grins, turns around and drops on his stomach. He pulls the pants down his ass, but leaves the rest for Yoongi to drag down. He looks over his shoulder and sees that Yoongi is looking at him with his mouth open. Jimin wiggles said butt and whines.
"Help me hyung." He whimpers and that seems to get Yoongi to move. He slaps his hand on Jimin's ass, he hears the older man suck in a breath. Jimin groans and asks him to do it again. Yoongi's face looks flushed and there's a wild look in his eyes. He complies and smacks it again. After that he tugs the pants down until they're completely off his legs. The older man opens his belt buckle dropping his pants on the floor. Jimin was lying when he talked about little Yoongi, there nothing small between his legs. He's once again turned around and Yoongi falls between his opened legs. He wastes no time and crosses them behind the other man's back.
They start kissing again, more tongue than dragging of lips. Both of them are breathing hard into each other's mouth. Yoongi gasps and moans when Jimin starts rolling his hips against his. Yoongi slows down the kiss to match the pace of their hips. Every time they roll into each other, the older man slips and moves his tongue inside Jimin's mouth. Sometimes it's fast paced, but most of the time is slow. He maps inside the younger man's mouth like he has all the time in the world. Jimin feels out of control, he tries to swallow, but it's hard when he's so delirious with need. Yoongi's hands have slipped inside the bottom part of his underwear and are touching bare skin. The only thing Jimin is able to do is grab at the older man's back and run his blunt nails on the skin. It's seems like Yoongi likes it because the next time he does it, he shivers and moans into his mouth. Jimin doesn't think he'll last if they keep going like this, the front of his underwear is already wet.
"Yoongi, please. Please fuck me, it's driving me crazy. I need you, please." He begs. The older man kisses him hard one more time, before getting up and going to the bedside table. Jimin takes the opportunity to ogle at his rear and takes off his underwear off while he's at it. He's starts to slowly jerk himself off, without any real purpose. He just needs to take the edge off a little, he's been too aroused for too long.
"Baby, that's my job. Drop the hands." Jimin goes still, but listens and drops his arms by his side. Yoongi tosses the lube and a condom on the bed and he falls between his legs again. "I'm gonna open you up. Tell me if you want me to stop."
"Yoongi, please touch me, I can't take it—" He cries out when he feels a lubed warm finger on his hole. His body locks up against the intrusion, but he moans again when Yoongi mouths at the tip of Jimin's dick. He starts slow, same pace as the finger. If his finger gets deeper, he takes more of Jimin into his mouth. When he pulls out the finger and twists it a little, he mouths at the tip again. Jimin trashes against the bed, but Yoongi's other arm keeps him in place. He lets out frantic little please, please, please. Yoongi takes the advantage of his state adding a second finger and keeps the same speed with his mouth. He twists his fingers again and Jimin whimpers in pleasure. "Can I… Can I hold your hair? I need—I need something to hold on."
Yoongi pulls out with a wet pop. "Of course, baby. You can pull as much as you want." Jimin doesn't need to be told twice grabbing the strands and fists his hands around them. He groans when Yoongi goes down again adding a third finger. Jimin thinks he will come like this, if Yoongi keeps going. He hasn't even touched that bundle of nerves inside him, but he's too overwhelmed with pleasure from his mouth alone. When Yoongi hollows out his cheeks and goes down as deep as he can, Jimin is done for.
"Shit, Yoongi— move, I'm not gonna las—" If anything, Yoongi goes wild, he drools and groans too, like it give him pleasure to have Jimin twitch in his mouth. Jimin looks down and sees Yoongi's nose touching his pubic bone and he comes with a shout. Yoongi keeps him inside his mouth and laps at his skin when Jimin comes down from his high. He's seeing starts from the intensity and whines a little from oversensitivity when Yoongi keeps mouthing at his skin. He pulls the older man's hair, he comes up without protest. Before Yoongi can asks if it's okay, Jimin hauls him up and kisses him dirtily. He tastes salty, he moans thinking how he made him come mostly just his mouth.
"Are you okay?" Yoongi nuzzles into his neck and drops small kisses into the skin of his jaw. Jimin nods and holds him close. He need to feel him near. He's still shivering from the intense pleasure. Yoongi drops on his back and pulls him into his chest. He hugs him close with an arm around his back, the other man holds his hip and draws smalls patterns into the skin.
Jimin moves his leg, he feels Yoongi's very hard dick straining the boxers he's still wearing. Now, that just will not do. He wasn't just stretch within an inch of his life and not put his hole into good use. He goes to grab the other's man crotch, when he's stopped with a hand around his wrist.
"You don't have to, Jiminie." Jimin pouts. He decides to take matters into his own hands.
"But I want to feel you inside, hyung. I wanted to come and feel myself around you, squeezing you. Yoongi Jr deserves to feel all that, don't you think? Don't you want that?" Jimin take the boxers off before he can be stopped again. Yoongi looks at him, searches his face and nods. Jimin grins and kisses him sloppily, too much tongue and little coordination. Yoongi goes to take the condom when Jimin stops him now. "We could do it without. I know I'm clean, I got tested."
"Yes… yeah, yeah, me too, me too." He tosses the condom to the floor, Jimin grabs the bottle of lube and drops a generous amount to Yoongi's cock and spreads it evenly. He then pushes his fingers against himself and opens himself up. It takes almost no effort. Even though Yoongi is not small, he wants to feel the stretch inside him. He pulls his leg around the other man's waist, grabs his dick from behind, lines himself and pushes the tip into his rim. Yoongi is already breathing hard, his hands spasm against Jimin's waist and then hold hard. Jimin knows he'll bruise after. Jimin clenches around the tip and Yoongi's eyes roll back. Jimin is not doing any better, he's already getting a little hard against his stomach, so he pulls both out of their misery and starts pushing down.
He cries out, Yoongi is indeed a lot to take in, but the pleasure is building rapidly again. Inch by inch he goes down, until his butt is flushed to Yoongi's skin. Yoongi has been quiet until that moment, but moans shamelessly when their skin meet each other. He sits up and holds Jimin close as he gets use to the girth inside him.
"God, you feel incredible, baby. I could have you in my lap all day, just like this. Not moving, just holding you." Jimin bobs his head, whimpers and tightens around Yoongi. He likes that idea too much. He keeps clenching, thinking about having Yoongi inside as the older man works on his computer. Both of them moan the next time Jimin does it. Yoongi moves them until the older man's back is against the headboard. Jimin gets the hint and grabs onto it and starts fucking himself on Yoongi's dick.
There's little to no grace to the way he's moving, he jumps and grinds and moves in a way that's desperate. Yoongi smacks his hand against his ass, Jimin clenches and they both moan into the kiss they share. He slaps it again and Jimin is starting to lose focus. Even though he's a dancer, his muscles are burning. Before he can complain, Yoongi pushes him into his back and pushes in the next movement. He grabs his legs, puts them on his own shoulders and dives into him again and again. This time, he touches the right spot inside with every thrust and Jimin makes a high pitch sound in the back of this throat.
Jimin tries to hold on, but the pleasure he's feeling it's too much. Yoongi's movements have become frenetic and erratic, but he keeps hitting where he needs him the most. Yoongi seems to be close too. The other man kisses him hard, pushes his tongue into his mouth, grabs Jimin's dick and jerks him off with the rhythm of his thrusts. Before he knows it Jimin is coming and squeezing himself around Yoongi's dick. Yoongi swallow his wails thrusting in once, twice and by the third time he comes with loud groan. Jimin holds him as best as he can, but he's still coming down from his second high. He strokes his hair as Yoongi drops all his weight into him. Jimin kisses all the places he can reach. His forehead, his nose, his brow, his temple. He feels too much and while it might be to early to confess, he thinks he can put everything he feels it into a concrete action.
Yoongi holds him in place dragging his hand against his ribs. Every now and then he shudders and kisses Jimin's shoulder. After a couple of seconds, Yoongi moves a little and forces himself up without jostling Jimin too much. They're still joined together and Jimin feels a little too sticky. Yoongi kisses his brow once.
"I'll be right back, let me get a cloth to clean you up, yeah?" He goes to pull out, but Jimin refuses to let go of him holding him by the shoulders. "Baby, I swear, less than a minute, okay?"
"Okay, but kiss me first." Yoongi smiles, his eyes disappearing. He kisses him tenderly, with a hand around his chin. He kisses his cheek once, then he pulls out slowly. Jimin wants to whine, but decides against it. He lies down on his side and waits for Yoongi to be back. True to his word, he comes back with a warm wet cloth and cleans him as best as he can. Jimin's still too sensitive.
Yoongi lies down and Jimin moves closer hiding his face in his neck. Yoongi lazily starts caressing his naked back and murmurs sweet words into his skin. Jimin sighs and hugs him closer.
"That was so good." Jimin says shyly. Yoongi hums and pulls the sheet and the blanket of the bed to cover them both. Jimin snuggles closer and Yoongi turns off the lamp.
"I loved every second of it. You are amazing." Jimin smiles and giggles into the other man's chest. Yoongi cups his face, smiles and kisses him tenderly. After they pull apart, Yoongi brings him closer and pulls him into his chest as he lies on his back. They are quiet for a couple of seconds, before Jimin gets an idea.
"Hyung… about that think you said about keeping me in your lap… did you— do you like that?"
Yoongi huffs a quiet laugh and pulls his face up and pecks up again. "Of course, I would like to try everything with you." Jimin was always too shy to ask Hwan about certain… things. He thinks Yoongi might be okay with some of them.
"And do you like it… when people wake you up by doing stuff?" Jimin can feel Yoongi grinning against his forehead. He grabs Jimin's hand and kisses the palm.
"As a matter of fact, if you want to combine the two, I wouldn't complain."
Jimin stirs awake at some point in the night. He really needs to pee, but he's too comfortable to move right away. He's being spooned, Yoongi's arms are wrapped around him in a protectively. He can feel puffs of air against his neck and the warmth of his torso through both of their shirts.
Before falling asleep Yoongi had complained that it was not practical to sleep naked: What if there's an earthquake and tsunami, Jiminie? he had asked before getting up and bringing Jimin the same shirt he had used the other day. Nevermind that the city only had a river and earthquakes were scarce. He gave him some underwear because apparently a naked Jimin was too much of a temptation to leave without bottoms on, so Jimin was forced into a pair un boxers. Jimin had complained, but liked to be cared for either way.
Jimin decides to turn into the other side to watch his face carefully. Yoongi is deeply asleep, his mouth hangs a little open, there is a slight furrow on his brow. Jimin presses a kiss into the bone there and that seems to settle and relax him. He sighs heavily snuggling into the younger man's neck. Jimin giggles against the ticklish sensation of a cold nose being pressed into the skin, but hugs him closer at the same time. Yoongi is a partially uncovered from the blanket, most of his butt and legs out of the covers. So Jimin simply holds him close and wraps them better to fight the cold of the night.
Tomorrow is Sunday, so neither of them have to work. He hopes they stay all day like this, just enjoying each other's presence. He starts to drag the tip of his fingers on Yoongi's back and that softens him further, most of his body weight against Jimin.
The weeks leading up up this moment have been hard. He hasn't really had a time to think of them, his feelings all over the place. Yoongi had managed to take a huge part of his everyday life in so little time, that when he didn't have him, he spiraled and got too lost into old feelings. Things that had nothing to do with Yoongi, but he projected them anyway. He needs to work on that, he knows he can trust him, but it scares him because in such a short period, he became even more important that Hwan ever was. He'll try everyday to learn to trust his words and not the memories that keep telling him he's not enough.
He sighs, now he really need to pee. He moves slowly as to no wake up Yoongi and manages it barely. The other man stirs a bit, but falls asleep again. Jimin goes to the bathroom quickly and looks himself in the mirror. It may sound like a cliché, but he thinks there's a healthy glow on his skin. He huffs a laugh and shakes his head. Then flushes the toilet and goes back to the room to find Yoongi sitting up in bed with his eyes barely open.
"'re did you go?" He croaks and clears his throat. He doesn't even try to opens his eyes though.
"I just went to the bathroom, go back to sleep." He wants to check on Tangie before going back to bed.
"No…" The older man pouts and stays sitting up.
"Hyung, don't be stubborn, I just want to go see Tangie." As if summoned, the cat appears on the door, rubs himself on Jimin's calves and jumps in bed laying down at the bottom of the mattress. Yoongi extends his arms and Jimin snorts before walking down to bed. When he gets inside, he's pulled by two strong arms around his waist. Before he can complain, he's tucked in Yoongi's shoulder, the older man pulling the covers to both their necks.
"Much better…" The older man mumbles. Jimin rests his cheek on his shoulder hugging him by the waist.
"It was just a couple of minutes."
"Doesn't matter. Need you here…" Jimin doesn't think he's even aware of what he's saying. Jimin pulls at his arm until the other man obeys and tucks his face into his neck again. He starts petting his hair as Yoongi brings him closer by the waist.
"Sleep hyungie." Yoongi nods and his breathing gets deep and even really fast. Jimin decides then and there that he'll do whatever is in his hands to keep whatever it is they are building together.
At some point, Tangie gets up from the bed and lies down by their heads. He nuzzles into Jimin's hair, licks him a few times and starts purring before falling asleep as well. Yeah, he'll definitely keep them forever.
The second time he wakes up, he's fully laying on top of Yoongi. The other man has one hand hidden in Jimin's hair while he looks mindlessly on his phone. Every now and then he lets out a small laugh and continues scrolling on his screen.
"What are you watching?" He murmurs. Yoongi startles slightly, but otherwise stays unmoving, he presses a kiss into Jimin's hair and moves the phone so he can see.
"Jin-hyung always sends me cat videos and tells me 'that's you'. I pretend not to watch them, but they're always funny." There's a cat on the screen that's rubbing himself along the owners legs, like he wants to be petted, but he has airplane ears and ends up biting up the man's leg anyway. Jimin smiles into his shoulder, then kisses the skin of his neck. "Are you hungry? I'll make us breakfast."
"Yeah, but lets stay like this for a while." Yoongi agrees, brings his hand down Jimin's waist and squeezes. Jimin hums, they continue watching the videos on the phone for a while. Jin seems to send him a lot of cat videos. Yoongi starts moving his hand up and down, eventually moving even further down and griping his ass before moving upwards again. Jimin squirms every time he does it, seeking friction between his legs. He slips his hand inside the older man's upper body touching the naked skin there. He moves his leg between Yoongi's adding pressure between their bodies.
Yoongi puts down the phone and it falls between the covers, he uses both hands moving Jimin until he has his legs either side of him. He grabs his butt, slipping his hands inside the material of his boxers and Jimin grinds down. He's about to kiss the other man when his stomach growls. Yoongi laughs, but kisses him either way.
"How 'bout that breakfast?" Jimin shakes his head, he can feel the hardness between his ass and decides to press himself against it.
"No, this first, breakfast later." He takes the opportunity to grab the bottle of lube, pours some on his fingers and pushes them in without much preparation. He's a little loose from last night, he doesn't need much.
"Fuck, Jimin." Yoongi turns them until Jimin's back ends up on the bed, the he pulls off the boxers from both their bodies. He already has two fingers inside when the older man pushes his hand away as he rubs himself with some lube, he pushes in the tip of his cock next. The two of them moan as Yoongi presses inside with small movements. Jimin grabs the back of his head bringing him closer to kiss him.
Yoongi is all the way in when Jimin clenches around him whimpering from the stimulation. The older man already knows where to press in and finds that spot right away. Jimin keeps tightening, not allowing much movement. "Baby, you need to relax a little, you're gonna make me come right away."
"I don't care." He pouts, but tries to relax his body. Yoongi kisses all around his face for a couple of seconds before pulling out and pressing back in. Neither of them will last very long, he can already feel the edge of his climax rolling in small intervals. "Yoongi." He moans brokenly.
"Jiminie, baby, you're so good. So good for hyung." He whispers into the air between them. Yoongi's movements are erratic, but he can tell he's trying to extend their pleasure by slowing down his movements as much as he can. Jimin doesn't want that, he wants to be closer still, so he brings his arms around Yoongi, kisses him with too much tongue and tightens around him.
"God, you feel so good inside. I'm made for this, for having you in me." The older man gasps loudly, moves one of his hands to fist Jimin's dick and starts hammering in and out bringing them closer to the edge. Jimin was already too stimulated to last much longer. He comes as he scratches Yoongi's back with his nails.
"Jimin…." He chokes on his name. Yoongi rams into him a couple of more times and comes grunting into his neck at a particularly long squeeze of Jimin's body as he rides the aftershocks. He moans again when he feels Yoongi's come inside him. They are both panting and sweaty, but Jimin feels too good to care about anything else. Yoongi falls on top of him, he trembles as he comes down from his high. Jimin allows him to move to his side pulling out slowly from his body. The older man gathers him in his arms immediately covering them with the thin sheet. "Jesus, Jimin-ah."
"Mmm." He mumbles sleepily. He thinks he could fall asleep again.
"Oh no. We're taking a shower and I'm feeding you. Food. I'm cooking." Jimin pouts at him giving him his best sad and mopey eyes. Yoongi tsks, shakes his head and sits them in bed. "Your puppy eyes will not work when I'm looking out for you. Up we go."
Yoongi picks him up, holds him by the waist and drags him to the bathroom where he opens the shower door and the water faucet, then he takes them both inside. Jimin decides to be annoying and holds on for dear life to his body, but Yoongi does not budge. He moves the showerhead so both of them get sprayed with warm water. "Save your tricks, we're getting clean and then I'm feeding you. I do not want Taehyung on my ass if you pass out. Close your eyes, I'm shampooing your pretty hair."
"Do not pout at me." Jimin is pretending to be mad at Yoongi because he wasn't allowed to go down on him on the shower. Something about fainting from the combination of the fatigue and the steam from the water. Even though he might be technically correct, Jimin feels like sulking. He just wanted a little taste. Either way, Yoongi is putting up with him as he plates some eggs, avocado and toast into a bowl. He brings Jimin a green tea putting it all in front of him.
"Thank you, hyung." The small gesture of giving him tea instead of coffee brings a smile to his face. He grabs Yoongi's shirt before he can leave to get his own coffee and kisses him noisily on his mouth. The older man smiles into the kiss and pecks him again. Then he goes to get his own breakfast.
"What do you feel like doing today?" He sits beside him on the kitchen counter resting a hand on his Jimin's thigh.
"Nothing much. I'm kind of tired and a bit sore." Yoongi frowns at him and starts rubbing his hand on Jimin's back.
"I'm sorry, maybe we shouldn't have done it again in the morning. We should have given your body time to rest." Jimin shakes his head and takes Yoongi's hand.
"No, I wanted to do it. Don't regret anything, don't worry. But if you want to make it up to me, you should cuddle me all day and carry me around." Yoongi smiles, he looks a little worried still, but he kisses his temple nonetheless.
"Sure, Jiminie. We'll stay in and watch movies, how about that?"
"Yes, I'd love that." Jimin kisses his cheek and smiles at him. He wants to feel this kind of contentment for a long time.
They stay on the couch most of the day, cuddling with Tangie when the cat feels like it or alone when he's napping under the sun that falls through the window. Either way, they stay glued together. Jimin thought about trying to get into the older man's pants again, but being like this feels too nice and he's too comfortable. He also doesn't think Yoongi would be down for that, he's still making sure Jimin is not too sore. It doesn't matter, if Jimin gets what he wants, he'll have enough opportunities to do the nasty, as Taehyung always says.
Speaking of the devil, he's been bombarding his phone with messages since this morning. Jimin thinks Jungkook might have been able to control him yesterday, but there's only so much a man can do and that man can't do nothing against a singled-minded and determined Taehyung.
"Why don't you answer him? You know he wont stop. He's about to barge in here, I can feel it in my skin, like when Namjoon breaks something in my apartment when he looks after Tang." Jimin laughs. The phone keeps buzzing on the coffee table. He's just too comfortable to move, laying down on the couch with Yoongi resting on top of him with his head on Jimin's chest. Jimin likes to thread his fingers through his long dark hair before massaging his scalp. Yoongi was almost close to purring before Taehyung started texting him nonstop.
"Fine, but only because I know he's thinking about it." Jimin complains reaching out to take the phone, but he's unable to grab it. He whines in what he hopes is found endearing and not annoying. Yoongi rolls his eyes fondly taking the phone with his much longer arms and hands. Jimin kisses him in thanks and unlocks his phone.

Jimin snorts and tosses the phone back on the table. Yoongi was a about to fall asleep again and startles at the noise. He makes a humming sound settling down again. Jimin takes the blanket from the back of the couch and drapes it on top of them.
"Sorry, Yoongi-hyung. Tae was being annoying, as usual." He strokes the side of the older man's face dropping a kiss to his brow.
"It's okay, I don't mind. You should always have people at your back. If I mess up, I like knowing that you have them." Yoongi mumbles into his shirt. Hwan hated his friends, he said they always put weird ideas in his head. He wants to ask why he would mess up, but then he remembers the conversation they had when Yoongi told him he was not a perfect man. Both of them might make mistakes, but at least they'll know there's no malice in their actions.
Yoongi's falling deeper into his slumber and Jimin holds him tighter as he continues to watch TV. There are these words at the tip of his tongue, but he feels it's too soon to express them. So, he stays quiet and wraps the blanket closer to Yoongi's body. He hopes some part of him already knows how Jimin feels.
After eating lunch and dinner, taking a lot of naps in between and sharing kisses, Jimin decides it's time to leave. He doesn't want to, but he has classes to teach tomorrow and he needs to rest, especially his ass. He doesn't think he'll be able to do that with Yoongi tempting him just by existing. The older man makes him take a box with leftovers to eat lunch tomorrow, then kisses him repeatedly by the door of his apartment.
Jimin arrives at his own place on cloud nine only to be interrupted in his daydreaming by Taehyung. Jungkook seems to be passed out on the couch with both dogs laying on top of him.
"You harlot."
"Excuse you? I am a taken man. Everything that went down in that apartment was blessed by God himself." Jimin enters the apartment with his dirty clothes in one hand and the box with food on the other. He's still wearing Yoongi's clothes, he doesn't think he'll be giving them back.
"Oh, please, nothing sacred happened in that place. You have the glow of someone that went back for seconds after the main dish. Don't run away from me, I can see you limping." Jimin drops the food on the kitchen counter walking as fast as he can to his room. Clearly, there no point in running away from Taehyung, but at least he wants to be laying down for the interrogation. His butt aches a little, but in a very pleasant way. It reminds him of what they did and what they'll do in the future.
"You're one to talk, I know why Jungkook is dead to the world on that couch. You wore him out." Jimin drops the clothes on the desk chair and falls face first into the bed.
"Well, you didn't answer me and I needed a distraction. Now out with it, give me all the details." Taehyung lies down next to him, stroking his hair.
"It was… the best Tae. He's so, so amazing. Not just the sex part, but he cares in a way that makes me feel safe. I've never felt that." Taehyung hums as Jimin turns to face him. Taehyung smiles at him with a big boxy grin.
"I'm so happy for you. He's the best and I'm not just saying that because you look blissed out. It's just… when you stopped talking to him, he asked me and Jungkook every day how you were. He cares a lot about you, might even love you to be honest, and wants you to be okay, even when you're being a brat." Jimin snorts and shakes his head.
"I hope I can make him as happy as he makes me."
"Of course you do, silly. You're the greatest of all time and you'll be so, so happy together. We should all have dinner next week." Jimin nods before Taehyung continues. "Now, tell me. How long was the architect's steel rule? Did he spank you with it because you were naughty? Ah! You're getting flushed, I'm getting close. Tell me, tell me, tell me".
In the end, he doesn't tell Taehyung about Yoongi's proportions because that belongs to Jimin and Jimin alone. He does tell him that he's a lot bigger than Hwan though and that brings a Cheshire cat smile to his face. Taehyung had the unpleasant opportunity of seeing Hwan's… thing once when he came earlier to pick up Jimin and went into the apartment using the door's code. He found Hwan laying on the couch. Butt naked.
Needless to say, Jungkook had almost burst into the apartment to beat the crap out of his ex when Taehyung had told him about it, but Jimin was able to control the situation. It was decided that Taehyung would not be going back to the apartment alone. Jungkook said never, period. Alone or not. Jimin always thought Hwan had forgotten about Taehyung picking him up, but now he's not so sure.
So, Taehyung knows first hand what an upgrade Jimin was getting in that department alone. Either way, Jimin appreciates and is thankful for the difference, but it wouldn't matter either way because the way Yoongi makes him feel is enough. But he's thankful, very much so.
The next days are simple and easy. Jimin teaches, has dinner with Yoongi, brings desserts and makes out with Yoongi against any surface available. There have been many, many hand-jobs in their lives because Jimin is still a little sore and Yoongi is too careful and apprehensive. Jimin really appreciates it and hand-jobs are nice either way. Yoongi has also been very against Jimin giving him a blow job.
"If I'm having your very, very plump lips around my dick I will want to fuck you or rim you and we need to take care of your very, very plump ass so enjoy my hands or nothing at all." Jimin had rolled his eyes, argued about both of them getting blow jobs, but gave up anyway. Next time he'll make sure he's prepped enough to be fucked for a week straight.
"Hey, Taehyung wants the four of us to have dinner together, are you okay with that?" Jimin asks on Thursday. They're watching some comedy show while they eat dinner.
"Sure, do you want me to cook?" Jimin shakes his head.
"No, Jungkook is actually great at cooking. He had to learn to feed me and Tae in college. He said he'll be in charge of dinner." Yoongi nods and hums around a spoonful of rice.
"OK, great. When?"
"How about tomorrow?"
That's how they find themselves at Jimin's apartment with both dogs in their laps. Yoongi had decided to take Tangie to Jin and Namjoon's place because it made him sad to leave him for an evening while they cuddled other pets. Jimin had nodded, kissed him and told him he was a good cat dad.
"Dinner's ready." Jungkook calls from the kitchen. Taehyung had shooed away both of them telling them they were guests even though it was Jimin's apartment. Jimin didn't mind, he much rather snuggle the dogs and Yoongi. Jimin puts Yeontan on the couch and stands up, giving his hand for the older man to take. They walk to the kitchen and sit down. Jungkook made some type of pasta dish with shellfish. It smells delicious.
"This smells incredible, Kook-ah." Yoongi says as both his friends take a seat. Jungkook smiles toothily, scrunching up his nose.
"It's my favorite." Taehyung adds as all of them start digging in. It's delicious, creamy and a bit spicy. Jimin is sure Taehyung's plate has no spice whatsoever. The room fills with small chitchat while they keep praising Jungkook's food. He looks a little bashful at the compliments. Taehyung decides to fill their glasses with white wine and proposes a toast.
"I want to toast for the wedding… that's happening on April 7th next year." Jimin rolls his eyes.
"Tae, come on. Give it a rest." He snorts into his glass. Yoongi looks a little bit confused.
"What do you mean?" Yoongi asks as he takes a small sip of his wine.
"There's no wedding, Tae was always teasing me because he knew I liked you and when you helped me clean my shoe, he decided that he was going to start planning our wedding. The joke is over." Jimin shakes his head watching as Jungkook takes Taehyung hand and squeezes it. Taehyung gulps nervously before speaking again.
"Jiminie, there is a wedding… just not yours." Taehyung looks anxious and a bit sweaty. He stares wide-eyed at Jimin.
"You mean…" Jimin feels at a loss for words. Does that mean that they…? "You—"
"I asked Kookie to marry me the day before we saw Hwan's video. We were coming here to tell you the next day, but then everything happened and you were so unhappy, it didn't feel right to tell you at the moment." Jimin looks to his friends and thinks to himself oh, they're getting married before bursting into tears.
"Shit, Jimin. We didn't mean to hide it—" Taehyung begins to justify, but Jimin shakes his head hiding behind his hands. Yoongi starts rubbing his hand down his back.
"I don't care about that! My best friends are getting married. I'm so happy." He wails again and hiccups. He gets up from his seat, falls into both of their laps and hugs them by their necks. Jungkook is also crying, but Jungkook cries at everything. Taehyung is trying to hold down the fort, but he is failing terribly. "Every time you made me chose…?"
"I was actually choosing for my wedding. We wanted you to be involved, but you were so sad. I wrote down everything you told me and it's being used for our wedding." Jimin weeps against Taehyung's shoulder. He has the best friends in the world. "You're my best friend and best man, of course you were going to be part of the decision making for our wedding."
Jimin nods and kisses both their cheeks before standing up and pointing a finger at them. "I want to see the wedding book and the choices you've made so far, there's so much to do!" He tries to look put together, but knows he's not convincing anyone, especially himself. Taehyung laughs wetly and mutters yes sir! before both of his friends go back to their room to get the book. Jimin sits again and hides in Yoongi's chest.
Yoongi holds him close kissing his temple. "Were you really planning our wedding every time you gave an answer?" Jimin laughs and shakes his head.
"I was just giving answers thinking of a nice wedding for someone I liked. I had no one specific in mind, it was just like seeing a board and choosing whatever looked nicer. Now that I know is for them, I want to see what he kept and change some of them if I think there's a better option."
Yoongi hums and cups his face. The runs the pad of his fingers on his tear tracks. His eyes look a little misty as well. "So, we have complete freedom for our wedding?"
Jimin chokes a little and laughs. "You would want that… with me?"
"Jiminie, I want everything with you."
They spend the rest of the evening going through every decision Taehyung has made regarding their wedding. Jimin knows most of the choices for the ceremony came from Taehyung and not Jungkook. His younger friend only cares about wearing a full black suit and that Taehyung is there. The rest doesn't really matter to him. Now, only Jimin and Taehyung are in the apartment, Yoongi went with Jungkook to walk the dogs in the park.
"Are you going to tell me how did you propose?"
"It was nothing out of the ordinary, really. He was cooking for me and feeding the dogs and I just... told him to marry me. He cried, of course. I cried too. Even after all this time, we don't even have rings." Taehyung shrugs and turns the page on the book.
"What?! We're going shopping next week. It'll be my engagement present for you." Taehyung smiles cheerfully.
"Kookie will be very happy. He was always complaining about getting rings, but I didn't want to buy them before you knew. Nobody knows about the engagement, not even Jin." Jimin really loves his friends. Jimin nods and tries not to cry again. His eyes are already too swollen, Yoongi promised to get him a mask from his apartment.
"Don't start. I'm this close to crying again." Taehyung threatens. He snorts shaking his head.
"I'll try." He looks back at Taehyung's own wedding book, the one that contains the ideas he has chosen for his wedding. There's a little sticky note by the end with Jimin's name on it and it's marking a page. He checks the small tab and he's left speechless. "Tae... what's this?"
"Mm? Oh. Yeah... sometimes when you gave an answer I thought 'that's something Chim would like for his own wedding', so I wrote it down. I hoped someday you would use it."
Naturally, when Yoongi comes back Jimin is a mess again. He's crying into Taehyung's shoulder trying to clean up his nose to no avail. Jimin hears him sigh deeply, after a couple of seconds he's moved around and engulfed in another hug. "What now?" Jimin shakes his head, bawls again as his friends move around the room. The puppies are yipping by Jungkook's heels demanding food.
"I'm just so happy."
The next day they are hanging out in Yoongi's apartment, when the older man brings the worst news Jimin could have heard in his life.
"Oh, since I'm picking up Tangie from Namjoon and Jin's house, Jin-hyung thought about having dinner at theirs. I told him I would ask you, what do you think?" Okay, maybe he's exaggerating, but he's starting to feel queasy. He must look as panicked as he feels because Yoongi chuckles and moves around the kitchen to hug him from behind.
"I don't know..." Jimin is very unsure about the impromptu dinner.
"I'll let you give me a blowjob if you agree." The older man mutters against the skin of his neck.
"Really?" He asks hopefully. Then, he frowns. Wait a minute. "How's that a prize for me?"
Yoongi smiles, eyes crinkled. "I mean, you've been begging for a week straight."
"I have not been begging." Jimin huffs, annoyed. Because he has, he truly has been begging for it.
"You also very well know that a blowjob means other activities." Jimin thinks it over, it really does sound like a good deal. Still, the threat Seokjin made at the party makes him doubt about the invitation. "I'll never let him be mean to you. I know that he was before because he told me about it. After I scolded him for it, he said that he felt a little guilty. He's trying to make amends even if he comes of a little standoffish at first."
"You promise?" Yoongi nods against his temple and presses a kiss on the skin.
"Yes, baby. Namjoonie is really excited to see you again."
"Okay, but if Jin-ssi is mean to me again, I'll send Taehyung after him. You know he can be scary." Yoongi laughs hugging him tighter.
"Yes, trust me. I know. He's very creative when he threatens someone in your name."
So, Jimin ends up on the front seat of the car holding a big strawberry kuchen that he made from scratch. Yoongi told him to buy something at the store, but Jimin refused, arguing that he needed to impress Seokjin in order to win him over. He had gone back to his apartment to make the kuchen while Jungkook told him excitedly about his room at Jin's house. Jin refused to change the bedroom after he moved out with Taehyung because he would always be welcome there. Jimin had stared at Jungkook and felt a little better about Jin. He was just a caring guy and he would always do the best for those he loved. So, Jimin made the best kuchen of his life and is on his way there.
"You okay?" Yoongi keeps looking at him, a bit worried. "You look a little green."
"Is this what meeting the family feels like? I don't know if I can do this again. Can you call your brother? We might as well get it all over. Don't make me do this again please." Jimin moans into his hands. Yoongi chuckles and takes one of his hands kissing the back.
"Don't worry, my hyung is like Namjoon, he's a very relaxed guy. The only thing he cares about is me having people that take care of me, that's it." Jimin nods and tries to keep his breathing steady. He knows he's freaking out over nothing, but he can't help it.
"Promise me you wont leave me if he still hates me?" Yoongi stops the car as the traffic light turns red. He takes Jimin's face in his hands and presses a kiss to his mouth. It calms Jimin a little.
"He doesn't hate you and I will never leave you." Jimin nods and they start moving again.
Once they get to the house, Yoongi uses his key to open the gate and Tangie comes running up to them. Jimin gives the dessert for Yoongi to take, then he picks up the cat. He rubs his nose along the fur feeling a lot calmer. The front door opens and Yoongi puts a hand on his lower back to push him a little.
"Hyung! Jimin-ssi. So good to see you again. Come, come. Jinnie is starting dinner." Namjoon smiles at them, eyes disappearing. He hugs Yoongi and takes the bag with the dessert from him. Tangie demands to be put down and runs inside the house. Jimin notes the front door has a pet door even though it doesn't seem to be any other animal in the house.
"Nice to see you again, Namjoon-ssi." Yoongi startles him by taking his hand and dragging him to the kitchen. The house is spacious and so is the kitchen. Seokjin is standing on the other side of the counter wearing a pink apron. That fact alone makes him a lot less scarier. Namjoon puts the dessert on the table and goes to kiss Jin's cheek.
"Yoongi-ah, how was traffic? You didn't speed here, did you?" Yoongi rolls his eyes shaking his head. Then, Seokjin looks directly at Jimin. "Jimin-ssi, I'm glad you came. Help yourselves to something to drink." With that, he turns around and starts taking pots from the counter. Jimin sighs, at least he's not being rude to him. Yoongi squeezes his hand, makes him sit as he goes to get him a drink. He kisses the temple before leaving.
Jimin clears his throat. Jin and Namjoon look at him. "Nice to see both of you again and thank you for having me." He makes a slight bow. "I brought dessert, I hope you like it.
"Oh! What did you bring?" Namjoon asks excitedly. He goes to open the bag. "It's strawberry kuchen, hyung. You're favorite."
"Well, yes. Yoongi knows where to buy it." He mutters as he starts dicing the meat.
"Actually, I made it from scratch. Yoongi did tell me it was your favorite though." By now, Yoongi is back with a ginger beer for Jimin and a coke for himself. He sits by his side and pours Jimin's drink in a glass.
"Really?" Jin looks pleasantly surprised. Jimin just nods. "Yoongi-ah, if that kuchen is anything like the one from that store downtown, you'll get get chunky like Tangie."
"They're better, hyung. Jimin is a really good baker." Jimin blushes a little.
"Good, good. You need sweetness in your life to help you with that grumpy face." Yoongi rolls his eyes. Jimin smiles a little, he feels less tense than before.
"What are you making, hyung?" Yoongi asks taking Jimin's hand under the table.
"Bulgogi." Yoongi shows his gummy smile at Jin.
"Jin-ssi, would you teach me? I want to learn to make it for Yoongi-hyung." Jin looks up, surprised and then he smiles. He really is a handsome man, there's no denying it. Jimin figures he needs to make an effort for Jin to like him and that seems to do the trick. He also really wants to cook for Yoongi.
"Really?" Jin asks. Jimin nods and Jin goes to take another apron from a drawer. He brings a baby blue for Jimin to take. "Now, shoo you two. Jimin-ssi and I are in charge of dinner. Skedaddle!"
Jimin learns the basics and he thinks he can make the dish with that knowledge. Jin wasn't kidding when the told the other men to leave and not to come back until they were called. He learns a lot about Jin that day. He has an older brother and they get along well, but he's the only older presence in his life beside his parents. The rest of his friends or relatives he's close to are younger than him. That's why he's so protective of them, he has the tendency of wanting to shield them from the world. Especially Yoongi and Jungkook.
He already knew he was the only person that stood behind Jungkook when he came out to the younger man's mother and father, but he never knew he also stopped talking to them and hasn't seen either of them since. Most of their extended family don't approve them being gay, but at least Jin's parents and brother do and that's enough for him. He also says he's kind of relieved since he wont have to invite unwanted relatives to their wedding. Namjoon's family on the other hand is huge and loving, they welcomed Jin and Jungkook into their family like they were always there. That's enough too, he says.
By the end of the day, Jin insists on Jimin calling him hyung, praises his kuchen and tells him to reach out if he needs help cooking. Namjoon shakes his head fondly, Yoongi hasn't stopped smiling since they sat down for dinner. All in all, it seems everybody won that evening. Especially Jimin that has two new hyungs in his life.
When they get back to Yoongi's apartment with Tangie, Jimin is buzzing with energy. He drank too many sodas because he was nervous and ate too many slices of kuchen. Jimin waits until Yoongi gets Tangie out of his carrier, then he's all over him. He slips his hands under the shirt the older man is wearing and mouths at the back of his neck.
"Jiminie?"
"You promised, lose the pants. Now."
On Saturday, Jimin lets himself into the apartment. He enters, pets Tangie, gives him food and gets into bed to find a snoring Yoongi passed out under the covers. He kisses the back of his neck, slips his hands inside the shirt he wears to bed. His skin is warm from sleeping, but for some reason his feet are always cold. He shakes his head, Yoongi still refuses to wear socks to bed, complains that he loses them either way.
"Hyung, it's twelve thirty. Wakey-wakey."
"No, no wakey-wakey, please." He goes to hid under the pillow, but Jimin lies on top of him instead. He kisses every he can reach from his position. "Mm-hmm. Okay, maybe I'm okay with wakey-wakey now."
He kisses the older man again, slips in his tongue and finds that his mouth tastes freshly minty. "Did you just brush your teeth?"
"Not just now, but I did like an hour ago, I knew you would come in." Jimin grins at him, then gives him a soft kiss on his mouth. Both of the sigh through their noses, Yoongi holds him close by his waist.
"What are you doing, today?"
"I was gonna sleep the day away, to be honest." Yoongi rubs his eye with a closed fist.
"Do you want me make lunch? I know how to make bulgogi now."
As Yoongi drinks a cup of coffee, Jimin prepares the food. He bought all the ingredients this morning with a sleepy Jungkook in tow that whined the whole time, but helped him anyways.
"Are you sure you don't mind eating bulgogi again? I could order something different." He hadn't really realized how many times Yoongi had eaten it until he started dicing up the meat.
"Jiminie, there is a reason it's my favorite food and I will like it because you made it for me." Yoongi gets up from the chair to kiss his cheek.
"Okay, we'll see if you say that after tasting it." Yoongi shakes his head, then leaves for the bedroom.
Jimin makes an effort to remember every step Jin taught him, but midway through he forgets how much garlic he's supposed to add, so he sends the chef a quick message. He says that's one clove is enough, but Yoongi likes it garlicky, so it's okay if he adds more. Jimin nods to himself, lets the meat marinate in the sauce for thirty minutes and begins cooking the rice. That take him no time, even he can make something as simple as rice. So, he has twenty five minutes to spare. He also brought the ingredients to make blueberry muffins, he might as well start at that.
By the time he's finished with the muffins in the oven, the meat is ready to cook. It takes no time for lunch to be ready, he plates everything and calls for Yoongi to come sit down. Yoongi comes out of the bedroom with his hair wet and a white t-shirt that clings to his damp body. Before he can sit down, Jimin grabs him by the waist to kiss him. He pushes his tongue in, fast and dirty. He threads his fingers into the wet strands and pulls a little, Yoongi mutters a curse and puts some distance between their faces.
"What was that for?"
"Nothing, you just look really good." Yoongi goes back to kissing him, but Jimin pushes him back a little. "Hyung, the food will get cold." He pouts and the older man just sighs.
"Fine, fine, let's eat." They sit down side by side, Tangie perches himself in the windowsill by the kitchen. Yoongi takes a couple of bites with an unreadable look on his face before putting down his fork. Jimin frets, thinking it doesn't taste good, but then Yoongi takes his hand under the table resting them on top of his thigh.
"What is it? Does it taste bad? Let me order—" Yoongi shakes his head, then clears his throat.
"I know I haven't told you the full story about my parents. You only know bits and pieces, someday I'll tell you everything, but... for the most part, there aren't that many good memories, except my brother. There is one thing though, only one thing of the top of my head that's not tainted with their... wrongdoings." He pauses, then takes a breath before continuing. "At the beginning of every month, my mother made us bulgogi. It was a simple gesture, I don't think she even realized what it meant for us. For a long time, I've been trying to find the same flavor her dishes had. The restaurant makes a decent one, Jin-hyung's version is incredible, but yours... it tastes like hers. And it's dumb, because after all these years it shouldn't matter, but well— it does because is almost the only good memory I have of her..."
Yoongi looks at Jimin and finds him silently weeping into the palm of his hand. "Jimin-ah, don't cry, it's okay, it's was a long time ago." But Jimin shakes his head and takes Yoongi's face in his hands.
"You deserve everything and I will make sure you eat bulgogi everyday if it make you this happy." Yoongi looks at him fondly, takes Jimin's wrists in his hands and kisses him softly.
"I love you." The older man says simply and Jimin bursts into tears again. He hugs him close to his body hiding his face into Yoongi's neck. "Jiminie, please stop crying, it's okay if you don't feel—"
"Of course I love you too. It's embarrassing how much I love you. These are happy tears, OK? You make me so happy, I just hope I make you happy too."
"The happiest, baby. I will always be glad you had a meltdown in the hallway, it lead us to this." Jimin snorts into his neck. After a couple of seconds, he calms down and kisses Yoongi again.
"I just want you to know, you don't have to tell me everything right now, but I'll hear whatever you want to share with me, even if it's something silly or small." Yoongi nods, but then makes a thoughtful face.
"What if I have to share makes you upset?" Jimin shakes his head.
"Then I'll cry, but my sadness is not more important than you sharing part of your life with me." Yoongi still doesn't look so sure. Jimin frowns, then says: "I... When I was with Hwan... I never use to cry. Ever. He made me feel like I was inconveniencing him by feeling anything, it didn't matter was it was that I felt. You've never made me feel like that, ever. I know that when you don't want me to cry it's because you don't like to see me unhappy, but for him it was a problem. So, I just stopped. When I cried in the hallway, it was the first time I did it in almost a year and a half. Don't worry about making me sad, I think my body is just catching up with lost time." Jimin wasn't necessarily much of a crier before, at least not like he's been crying these past few weeks. There are still some stray tears running down his face that Yoongi catches with the pad of his fingers.
"If I ever see Hwan again, I'm punching him in the face." Jimin laughs thinking his soft-spoken boyfriend could never hurt anyone.
"You have to stand in line, Kookie and Tae called dibs a long time ago."
"Do you like dancing?"
"I don't dislike it, but I don't think I'm particularly good at it. I prefer watching people dance, why?"
"Oh. It's nothing."
"Jimin, what is it?"
"I was just thinking about Jin and Namjoon's wedding. You told me neither of them like to dance that much, just wondered if you do."
"Mh-hm, I mean, like I said I don't dislike it, but there aren't that many opportunities for me to do it, you know?"
"Yes, I get it. Maybe it's stupid, but Hwan and I went to one of his friend's wedding and he hated dancing, he even found the grooms dancing to be stupid."
"Why would he even want to be with you if he hated dancing so much? He's stupid. I'll dance with you, I'll dance with you right now. What? You don't think I will? Let me put I can't help falling in love with you on the computer and I'll dance the shit out of you, you'll see."
The following week, they decide to go out and have a bowling date. Jimin has been wanting to bowl for a while now, so Yoongi decides to take him out. He's been excitedly waiting for their date all week long. Jimin is sitting on Yoongi's couch with Tangie in his lap. The older man had to work late, so he woke up late as well, but didn't want to cancel their date. So, Yoongi's taking a shower and told Jimin he'll eat something later, but Jimin didn't like that so he made him a cheese ham sandwich to go in case he wants to eat on the way there.
"I'm ready." Yoongi says as he comes out of the bedroom. He's wearing a soft looking green sweater and dark jeans. The older man pets Tang absently, before removing him from Jimin's legs and taking his hand to help him stand up.
"I made you a sandwich, it's in my bag." Yoongi smiles, kisses his cheek and pulls him to the door. They put on their shoes, get out of the apartment and Jimin locks the door behind them. Jimin is about to tell him they should take a cab so they can go to get a couple of drinks after, when he's suddenly pushed behind Yoongi. "Yoongi—what?!"
He looks up to see Hwan outstretch hand as he tried to grab him. Jimin freaks out, grabs Yoongi by the waist hiding behind his shoulders. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Hwan says, seething. He tries to grab him again, but Yoongi pushes him with both hands on his chest. "Who the fuck do you think you are? Let me get my boyfriend."
"He's not. And if try to touch him again and don't leave now, I'll fucking punch you, don't test me." Jimin presses closer to Yoongi.
"Get the fuck out of the way." Hwan huffs. "Jimin, come on. Stop being so childish, come here."
"No. I don't want you, I'm not your boyfriend anymore. Leave me alone." He tries to sound firm, but know he sounds scared instead. Doesn't matter, he needs to say these words.
"Of course you're mine. Don't be stupid." Jimin can see Hwan losing whatever resemble of patience he has.
"I'm not yours. I'm not anybody's. I am dating Yoongi now, though." Jimin answers with a big amount of satisfaction. That feeling is short-lived and seems to be enough for Hwan. His face starts getting red, more flushed and agitated. There's no more restraining in his actions, so he goes to grab Jimin again, succeeding in taking his small wrist in his hand and squeezing once, before he's punched square in the jaw and drops to the floor.
Jimin screams taking Yoongi's hand in his own, inspecting his knuckles for any damage. They look a little red, but it was not enough to break skin. Yoongi is breathing hard, he looks like he's thinking about going for a second punch when the door of Jimin's apartment opens. Taehyung takes one look at Jimin and Yoongi, looks down at the floor and kicks Hwan in the stomach as hard as he can. "That was for Jimin, asshole." Then, he comes to stand by Jimin's side, hugging him sideways.
Jungkook will not be nearly as forgiving, Jimin can already tell. He's been waiting almost a year to kick the shit out of him. He grabs Hwan from the back of his neck, looks back at Taehyung who nods once. "And this will be for Jimin and Taehyung too." He punches him once, drawing blood instantly. Then, he pulls him by his clothes to the elevator.
Jimin is shaking, but he needs to check Yoongi's hand immediately. He puts in the code and the three of them enter the apartment. Taehyung goes to the kitchen to put on the electric kettle. He also checks on Tangie who seems to have heard the fight because he's hiding under the kitchen table on top of a chair. Jimin goes to the kitchen, takes an ice pack and a cloth towel to put on Yoongi's hand.
"Jiminie, it's fine. Didn't even hurt." Jimin shakes his head. He can feel the tears prickling at the corners, his lips wobbling.
"It's not." Jimin is again reminded of how much trouble he's bringing into Yoongi's life. "It's not fine."
"Hey, don't overthink it. I wont let you spiral into unnecessary guilt. I'm okay. Let me check your wrist, he grabbed you really hard the last time." Jimin allows him to check his arm for anything he wants. Yoongi says it might bruise as he kisses the bone of his wrist. That makes Jimin even sadder.
"But he will not leave me alone, I can't drag you into this for the rest of your life." He mopes tearfully. By now, Jungkook has come back with red and bruised knuckles, but a blinding smile in his face. Taehyung is fretting over him, but there's this edge in his gaze, Jimin can bet he's a little turned on. When Taehyung feels Jimin's gaze on him, he looks up from Jungkook's hand and both of them turn around. They give Jimin a thumbs up, before whispering to each other again. Jimin rolls his eyes, give it to them to find the best out of a horrible situation.
"Hey, you're not dragging me into anything, I want to be with you. If I have to punch him for the rest of our lives, I will." Jimin chuckles wetly. Yoongi takes his face in his hands giving him a loud kiss in the mouth. He keeps pressing kisses into his face until Jimin giggles again. "I love you, that asshole will not change that, yeah?"
"I love you too. Thank you." Yoongi kisses him again. "I think I need to move from this building, he wont stop coming back. Jungkook might have scared him, but he's not the brightest, he'll forget about getting his ass kicked and will come back."
"Okay, then we'll move." Jimin looks up sharply.
"Yoongi, I can't make you move." He wants nothing more than to be close to him, but he will not be asking that of him.
"You're not. I told you, this place was just temporary. I was always going to move. Let's look for two apartments in the same building, they don't even have to be on the same floor. What do you say?" Jimin nods holding Yoongi close by his shoulders.
"If you're sure."
"Of course I am." Jimin's still shaking. At some point Tangie comes running and jumps into their laps. He purrs and chirps at them, pushing his head into their hands until they pet him. That calms Jimin's trembling hands a lot. "Hey, how about we ditch the bowling plan and go into the petting zoo instead?"
"Really?"
"Yeah, let's invite Kook-ah and Taehyungie too. Let's make a nice memory of this day instead."
"Okay."
Jimin pets so many cows, he loses count of them. They're like cute dogs, with big fluffy ears, that demand cuddles like Tangie does. Yoongi finds an alpaca with a funny looking face and sends Jin a picture telling him "that's you." Jin is, of course, enraged, but doesn't disagree. Taehyung buys animals ears for all of them, putting a pair of cat ears on top of an unimpressed Yoongi. Jimin takes a picture and sends it to Hoseok who in turns sends it to Jin and Namjoon, the former who is not even mad anymore about the alpaca joke. Yoongi is even more unimpressed.
Jungkook is wearing bunny ears because of course he is. He ends up crying at the kits that are huddling together for comfort and warmth. Taehyung buys him cotton candy to cheer him up. Jimin rolls his eyes, like he wasn't just beating the crap out of his ex two hours ago. Yoongi buys him a small cow plushie keychain and he almost cries again. They're just so cute. By the end of the day, Jimin's hands don't shake as long as Yoongi holds them.
Yoongi takes Jimin as his plus one to Jin and Namjoon's wedding. They agree to meet at the venue's entrance to be surprised by their outfits. Jimin can't wait to see which debauchery Yoongi chooses next. So far, he hasn't disappointed.
Jimin is wearing a black suit jacket, closed in the middle, but with nothing underneath and matching black pants. He put on a gold necklace with a big hoop in the center. He's has some light makeup on his eyes and a red lip tint. Taehyung and Jungkook are leaving with him, the first is wearing a dark shirt under a flowery suit jacket while the later is wearing an all black ensemble.
Yoongi is waiting by the venue's door when they arrive. He had told Jimin that since he's part of the ceremony, he would not be showing skin, so to get his mind out of the gutter. It doesn't really matter, he's left speechless anyway. He's wearing a light blue shirt that seems to have two long pieces of fabric that are pulled down his chest. It gives the illusion of having some kind of tie. On top of the shirt, he has a cropped dark blue jacket with matching blue pants. The cut of the jacket at the waist makes him look snatched and his ass sticks out. Jimin's mouth gets dry.
"Oh my God, are you drooling? Pathetic." Jungkook says under his breath. He's pushed by Taehyung in the direction of the door almost face-planting in the process. He manages to catch his footing at the right moment, but Yoongi chooses that second to look at him and laughs into the palm of his hand.
"Hi, baby." He takes Jimin's hand pulling him closer to kiss him chastely. He wants to deepen the kiss, but doesn't want to ruin his make up right away. So, Jimin kisses his cheek, then brushes the pad of his thumb to get rid of any gloss he put on his skin. "You look gorgeous."
"You look so pretty, hyung." Yoongi smiles, blushing slightly. He begins to pulls him inside of the venue where the ceremony will take place. Sadly, the older man wont be sitting next to him because as one of the grooms' best man, he has to stand beside Namjoon. At least he'll have Taehyung with him, Jungkook will be standing next to Jin. They sit after Taehyung. He's worried about Jungkook who is nervous about being front and center. Jimin rolls his eyes, it's not like he's the one getting married. "How long you think the ceremony will last?"
"No more than ten minutes. Jin-hyung doesn't like being the center of attention either so they'll keep it short and simple. Namjoonie read him the long version of his bows yesterday." Jimin smiles, elated. He rests his head on Yoongi's shoulder while they wait for the ceremony to begin. Next year, he'll be standing next to Taehyung as he reads his bows and if he's lucky, Yoongi will be sitting like he is right now. "OK, Namjoonie is freaking out, so I have to go. See you after the ceremony, yeah?"
Jimin nods, kissing him once again. He doesn't care about his make up right now, but keeps it fairly innocent. Yoongi pouty lips have a rosy tint to them now. "See you later, Yoongi."
The ceremony is wonderful. True to Yoongi's word, it's fairly short. Jin walks the aisle with the most elegant stride Jimin has ever seen, but the tip of his ears are way too red. He also hides his face in the bouquet of flowers when he stops by his best man. Then, it's Namjoon's turn. He has a serene dimpled smiled and takes Jin's hand immediately after reaching him with the hand that's not holding his own flowers. They read the bows, kiss and call for everyone to move to the reception room.
Yoongi comes running after him, kissing him slowly. Jimin only manages to stand up for a second before he's all over him. "Hyung, please. There are old people here."
"Well, I'm not making them watch, not really into that. I don't share." Jimin rolls his eyes, but smiles either way, eyes crinkled at the corners. He pecks Yoongi once more before taking his hand and leading him to the next room. Most people are standing around the room as they talk to one another. Hoseok is standing with two older people he doesn't know, but if their handsome faces are anything to go by, they must be Jin's parents.
Taehyung is in a corner with a tearful Jungkook. He had managed to stay composed most of the ceremony, he had told Jimin he would not be stealing his Jin-hyung's thunder, but now that nobody was looking, the tears would not stop. Jimin mouths "is he okay?" at Taehyung who just nods, giving him two thumbs up behind Jungkook's back and goes back to comforting him.
After the married couple join the guests, everyone starts drinking. Yoongi leads him to the bar where he asks for a glass of white wine for Jimin and beer for himself. He told Jimin he didn't want to get blackout drunk in case he had to help any of the grooms. Mostly Namjoon, he had a tendency to break or spill things over himself.
After dinner, the grooms get up to have their first dance as a married couple. Jin's ears are already red, but Namjoon keeps steady hands on his waist as he leads him around the room in practiced steps. After they're done, they ask anyone who wants to join them for a second dance. Before Jimin can say anything, he's already being led to the dance floor.
"Thought you like to watch people dancing, not dance yourself."
"Yeah, but you like it and I love you. So I like dancing if it's with you."
Jin decides that instead of throwing their bouquets, they'll be passing them to whoever they see fit. Namjoon gives his to Jin who then walks to Jungkook and Taehyung's side giving them one bouquet each. Jin looks way too pleased with himself. Jungkook looks astonished, they still haven't told anyone about their engagement. Taehyung instead looks at ease, smirks and says:
"Well, we are already engaged, so I'll be passing these along." Jin bursts into tears almost immediately, followed by his own mother and Namjoon's... grandmother? Jimin watches with fascination as the women run to Jungkook and hug him tightly in their arms. Jungkook looks so happy even with the tears that are running down his face.
Jimin forgot about Taehyung though, who is now standing in front of him, pushing one of the flower arrangements in his arms as he extends the other for Yoongi to take. Jimin frantically whispers: "Taehyung, what are you doing?"
"You're next, pretty boy." His friend then kisses his cheek and goes back to check on Jungkook. Hoseok is now trying to stop Jungkook from messing even more of his makeup to take some pictures with the pretty rings Jimin bought for them. A late engagement photo-shoot.
"I'm sorry about him, Yoongi." He turns to watch as Yoongi thumbs the delicate flower petals. There's a pensive look on his face.
"I'm not." Jimin startles. Yoongi takes his hand giving him a kiss in his cheek, then his lips. "You know we'll get married, right? Not now, not in a year, but it will happen."
"You don't think it's too soon to... know that?" He kisses Yoongi again, he doesn't want him to think that it's not something Jimin wants, because he does, he really, really does. Despite that, he's scared. Their relationship is so new still, how can they be sure?
"Maybe, but I want to have you in my life forever, that much I know. I never really cared for marriage, but I know you might want that. And I told you, I want everything with you. Unless you don't—"
"I do, I very much do. You're so different from what I had before, so it's hard to wrap my head around how honest everything you say and do feels, but I want everything with you too." Jimin smiles, a little watery. Yoongi leaves the bouquet on the table next to where they're standing, cups his face in his warm hands and gives him a lingering kiss.
"Loving you has been the easiest thing to do. I know you don't like to hear it, but I'm really glad you dropped the kimchi stew in the hallway." Yoongi's smile is so big, Jimin almost can't see his eyes. He looks beautiful.
"In my shoe." He pouts. "But me too, I'm glad you were there to fix it."
