Work Text:
1.
Robby raised his brows in surprise when he looked at the display of his phone. When he had made an account to try his luck on a dating app a month ago, he didn't expect to get a message from an account like this. The profile picture showed a man in a t-shirt lying in the greenest grass Robby had ever seen. The head was cut off so he couldn't exactly tell how old he was except from his bio that told him he was born in the 90s. So he must have been in his late 20s to early 30s. Definitely not the age range Robby would've expected to be interested in an old man like him.
The second slide wasn't even a picture of a person but a golden retriever. Big eyes and shiny dark blonde fur. Everyone likes dogs. Must work wonders on dating apps. It worked on Robby at least.
MondayRide: Hey, you appear to be a little young to text me. You aren't catfishing me or whatever you call it, are you?
Instead of a normal text, Robby received a picture a few minutes later. A selfie, again with no face, but who was Robby to blame when he hadn't posted any of himself. It would be awkward if any of his patients recognized him.
This time the man was lying on his bed, showing his torso, camera slightly angled downward on his body, cropped right below his crotch. He was wearing sweatpants that hugged his hips nicely and another shirt that was riding up, casually showing just a tiny bit of skin. His build was slender but soft and Robby would guess he was a shorter than average too. It reminded him a little of Whitaker which left him with a bittersweet aftertaste. On his stomach lay a piece of paper, Robby's user name written upon it.
Bumblebee: That enough to convince you I'm real?
MondayRide: Are you sure about this? Texting me, I mean? I could be your father.
Bumblebee: Didn't it cross your mind that that might be exactly the reason why I messaged you?
Bumblebee: You wouldn't be texting me back if you didn't know what I mean.
Bumblebee: Saw the pic of you at the beach. Where was that?
Damn. Robby ran his fingers through his hair. A nice man wouldn't text someone who was give or take 20 years younger than himself. But he was not a nice man. Noelle didn't call him a seven-week-itch without a reason. And what better to do than just scratch that itch before it became unbearable, and then it would subside sooner or later. It always did. And then he could have his peace.
MondayRide: Thailand. A friend told me it would make me seem more approachable.
Bumblebee: Well your friend was right.
Bumblebee: Wanna tell me more about the pic? :)
MondayRide: Oh, it must have been taken a decade ago by now. Had less gray hair back then.
Bumblebee: Don't be so hard on yourself. The salt and pepper hair would probably look good on you.
Bumblebee: How was Thailand? You liked it?
MondayRide: It was a fantastic vacation. You should try the food over there. A lot better than the knock-off here.
Bumblebee: Oh I don't have the money for traveling outside the states...
MondayRide: How about hitting the road?
MondayRide: Do you like motorcycles?
2.
With a heavy grunt Robby settled on his bed. His back and his feet hurt like he ran a marathon. Robby didn't count his steps at work but it wouldn't be surprising if he actually had run a marathon in the ER. Everyone always needed something from him and he was constantly on the move. There rarely was a chance for a break that was truly his own. But this. This place was his. Well maybe except from the time when Whitaker took care of his bachelor pad. But Robby wasn't home then so that could hardly count.
Robby pulled out his phone. A notification had been waiting for five hours to be opened.
MondayRide: Sorry for my late answer. It's been a hell of a day. I'm so tired.
Bumblebee: I know what you mean. But let's not talk about work. We both had enough of that today.
Bumblebee: So what do you say?
MondayRide: I need to be honest. I didn't get your pop culture reference I'm afraid. I'm old, remember?
Bumblebee: You keep bringing that up. Do you seriously think it's gonna make me less interested in you?
MondayRide: Maybe?
Bumblebee: Do I need to demonstrate how wrong you are?
MondayRide: Alright kid and how exactly do you think you could manage that?
Bumblebee: I bought a new jacket today. If you want to see I could show it off for you...
MondayRide: With the money I sent you last week? Of course I wanna see.
MondayRide: Just remember the rules baby. No faces. No names.
Robby received a picture only a few moments later. He clicked on the square crop-out, a rather suggestive pic of the young man in an oversized dark blue jacket similar to his own - and only in the dark blue jacket. The zipper was pulled down to half his chest, pale and flat, one sleeve almost slipping off his shoulder, that Robby wanted to sink his teeth into. The hem reached far enough to cover his hip, leaving Robby the view on his bare thighs.
It was everything Robby ever wanted to lay his eyes on. Seeing Whitaker in his clothes, his favorite jacket, his skin so close to touch even if it was merely a picture. Only that the jacket was missing the print, that it wasn't his jacket at all and most importantly that this wasn't Whitaker but a stranger on the Internet. A stranger who didn't know where his twisted mind went whenever Robby opened his profile or looked at his photos.
It was fucked up. Deeply unfair to this man, who carelessly made himself so vulnerable to him and unfair to Whitaker who didn't deserve being objectified by a creepy asshole like him. Yes, Robby was a horrible person and an even worse boss. But he couldn't just end it either. He was already in too deep, wrapped up and bound to the few strings of love that remained between his fingers. He was a weak man after all. And the only thing that came to his mind to make himself feel less guilty for holding on was to compensate this beautiful man in some way or another.
Bumblebee: Still tired? ;)
MondayRide: I'm afraid so.
Bumblebee: 😩 Aww
MondayRide: I'll make up for it tomorrow.
Bumblebee: Does that mean I'll get a pic for a change?
MondayRide: Everything you want.
MondayRide: Good night
Bumblebee: Sleep well :)
3.
Bumblebee: Y can't I have u I wnt u so bad
MondayRide: Where did that come from?
MondayRide: Are you drunk?
Bumblebee: Pls turn me down n tlk sense to me I can take it
MondayRide: Are you alright baby?
Robby got a picture instead of an answer. It was a selfie over the young man's shoulder. He was lying on his bed, holding his ass up. Robby could practically feel his need to be touched and filled to the brim. His cute little stranger would probably take him so well if Robby were there.
His eyes wandered over his light tanline to his back, his shirt pulled halfway off, bunched under his arms. He didn't look so fragile from this perspective. More like he worked out from time to time. Robby should probably do some exercises himself. His back would thank him when he stood all day or needed to lift a patient.
MondayRide: You got a nice tan since last time.
Bumblebee: Oh didn expect ud notice u like it?
Bumblebee: I sepnt lot of time outdoors over the weekend
MondayRide: You know that I like everything about you.
MondayRide: But remember to wear sunscreen baby. I want you to stay healthy
Bumblebee: I wouldnt forget it if ud put it on me 👀
MondayRide: With pleasure
Robby blushed with a smirk across his cheeks and looked at the picture again. He had always been a rather tactile person and that something was clearly lacking in their arrangement. He sighed, the smile slowly sinking on his face. The only skin he touched lately, besides that of his patients, was his own and Whitaker's. And there he is on his mind again. Right when he should actually be thinking about the man he was texting.
MondayRide: So how much did you drink?
Bumblebee: Not much!
Bumblebee: Ok thts a lie it was pretty much but it wasn my fualt
MondayRide: So you've been a naughty boy. You promised to take care of yourself.
Bumblebee: Fuuuuck
Bumblebee: Ur killing me here
Bumblebee: Didn't I ask u to reject me?
MondayRide: I'm sure you don't need me to satisfy your current needs.
MondayRide: You've got 2 healthy hands. How about you put them to good use?
Bumblebee: 😭 ur making it worse on purpose I just wnt to feel ur hands on me
MondayRide: Keep your promise baby. Come on. Take care of yourself for me.
He wanted this too. To touch him, to see what he was doing right now. It didn't matter who this man was. The desire seized him and held him in a tight grip.
Bumblebee: Fuck daddy!
Robby's stomach churned. He groaned, dragging his palm over his face. This was his own personal hell.
MondayRide: Just like that. You're doing so good.
MondayRide: Wish I could touch you.
Bumblebee: Close
MondayRide: Then come for me baby. Make it nice and slow.
For a little while there was silence between them. Without the occasional plop of incoming messages, Robby could hear his blood rushing in his ears and he closed his eyes. While he tried to calm his heart down, new messages eventually came in.
Bumblebee: Damn
Bumblebee: I need a shower now
Bumblebee: What about you?
MondayRide: I'm fine. Go get your shower.
MondayRide: And afterward you will eat some soup to get your electrolytes up.
Bumblebee: How do you know that?
MondayRide: Isn't that common knowledge?
Bumblebee: Well apparently.
4.
Robby stretched as he began his break before quickly grabbing a sandwich and then finally heading outside. With his first bite, he pulled out his phone and checked on the two messages he had gotten in the meantime.
Bumblebee: Be careful not to open the pic when your coworkers are nearby ;)
Robby raised his brows and turned to see if anyone from the ER was about to join him. It seemed safe. Everyone appeared to be either busy or they were taking their break in the team room. So he leaned in on the wall, facing away from the door for good measure and opened the chat.
The picture practically jumped at him, the camera angled down, capturing the man's soft stomach and his cock pointed straight up at heaven's gates. Robby went almost blind, quickly opening his keyboard, the pic disappearing half-way in the chat.
It was far from the first nude he had gotten since using this dating app but be had never gotten one at work.
He looked around again but he was still alone, so he risked a second look.
The background was dim, as if the man had drawn a pair of blackout curtains. There seemed to be a gap; his delicate skin illuminated by a beam of warm sunlight that pierced through. From this angle his waist looked slimmer than usual, Robby thought he might be able to put his hands around him and make his fingers touch.
Sunken in thoughts, Robby bit into his sandwich. It was salty, the toast slightly sweet around it. He couldn't help but wonder what his special stranger would taste like. If he'd ever get the chance to see him in person, he'd love to go down on him, make him mewl and come in his mouth. God, Robby didn't even know what his voice sounded like. But he wanted to know how it was to commit his worst sin yet.
MondayRide: Thank you for the treat. Though next time you should keep photos like this to more sensible hours.
Bumblebee: Yes sir. Hope you liked it anyway ;)
MondayRide: Always. Hope you had fun.
Bumblebee: With you on my mind? Always
So eager to please. He should be smiling but Robby couldn't help but feel a little off. Like he was lying to himself and to this pretty boy who deserved so much better than him. Someone who actually liked him, not the idea of who he was in his fantasies.
Robby shook his head.
No, the one he should really forget about was Whitaker. Whoever his new friend was, he was a well-needed distraction. And that feeling was most likely mutual. Why else would they still keep up this "no identity" rule. It's been over two months now. Longer than he usually committed to his girlfriends even.
Jack always told him that he should risk letting his feelings carry him but Robby was sure that his friend didn't mean that he should do it with a stranger that resembled one of their former students, who had just recently gotten a permanent position as a doctor.
Robby turned his wrist to look at his watch. It was time. He finished his now bland tasting sandwich and went back inside. Everything else he wanted to worry about stayed outside the hospital walls.
5.
Bumblebee: I got it!
Bumblebee: I got the package!
Bumblebee: Or packageS I should say.
MondayRide: I hope you're happy about the surprise.
Bumblebee: Oh I didn't look into the second one yet...
Bumblebee: But the headphones are great! I can't emphasize enough how much I needed good noise canceling. My roommate and her situationship are awfully loud.
Bumblebee: Thank you for getting them for me <3
Bumblebee: Is there any way I could return the favor? 😇
Bumblebee: And sorry for spamming ✌🏻 apu
MondayRide: As luck would have it, I know just the perfect way to thank me properly.
MondayRide: Will you look into the other package for me, baby?
Bumblebee: ...
Bumblebee: Omg are you serious about this??
Bumblebee: Do you want me to wear that?
MondayRide: I'd like to of course, but you don't have to. You know I don't make you do things you don't like.
Bumblebee: No! I do!
Bumblebee: I want to. It just surprised me 🫣 I've never worn something like that
MondayRide: God, I would love to see if you're blushing.
Bumblebee: Do you want me to try it on right now?
MondayRide: Whenever you feel ready.
Bumblebee: Give me some time ok? I'm a little nervous
MondayRide: Sure. No pressure.
Robby didn't look at the clock but it must've been indeed an hour before his phone buzzed again. Enough time had passed that he had taken a prolonged shower and got ready for bed. When he heard the vibration on his nightstand, he immediately laid his book to the side, losing the page he was at for good, and grabbed his phone.
He groaned when he could finally see the younger man wearing the set of lingerie he had chosen for him. The light brown of his nipples was peeking through the blue lace bralette.
Robby let his gaze wander south where it looked a little like he had sucked in his stomach which made Robby smile in endearment. He would never understand how a beautiful man like this could ever think he'd need it. Especially not when both of their clothes were straining with want. Robby was hard in his boxers and Bumblebee in the blue satin and lace panties. The base of it was even peaking out like there wasn't enough space. It didn't matter if Robby hadn't known better and had actually bought a set for women or not - he wished he could pull it aside anyway, let his desire spring free. And Robby would just stand in front of him, keep studying him while the man knelt on the bed just like he was doing so nicely in the picture.
The blue lace just looked stunning on his smooth skin. It reminded Robby of the time when he was young and dating in his early medical years as a student. He had always loved a delicate set of lingerie on his partners. Which, to be fair, had all been girls back in the day. And even later, when he had come to terms with his bisexuality, he had never made another man wear anything special for him. So this was a completely new exciting perspective for him.
MondayRide: Amazing, baby. You always manage to astound me.
+1
It was a night between a day off and his next shift and Robby had been irresponsibly drinking with Jack. Not so much that he couldn't walk home but definitely a good amount. He just shut the door and shrugged off his jacket when he could feel the buzz of his phone against his thigh. He smiled in anticipation when he unlocked his screen, already expecting his lovely stranger to send him a late night message.
He'd grown quite fond of him by now, enjoying the habit of texting before bed.
Tonight his boy must've yearned for his delayed attention because the message was a picture and Robby knew what that meant.
First and foremost the photo showed his bare bottom, the man lying in his bed, his legs bent over the edge. Between his delicious thighs sat his balls and his half-hard cock, pressed down and rubbing against the cream-white sheets.
The resolution was a lot lower than usual, as if he had zoomed in a lot. Despite it Robby could clearly see the shiny butt plug between his little round cheeks.
In his bedroom, Robby looked across the room to the mirror on the wall and turned himself around. Bumblebee must be pretty flexible to take this photo. At least more flexible than his own 50+ year old bones.
When he looked back at the picture, he caught something in the corner. A note hanging on the mirror just low enough that Robby could still make out that it was a message from his roommate.
Maybe he shouldn't pry but Robby did it anyway and zoomed in further, the lines on paper blurred and hard to read. The upper part was cut off but the rest said "...in the living room is too loud. Can you fix it with your magic hands - XO Trin"
Wait.
Trin? Like Trinity Santos? Did that mean he had been texting Whitaker all along!?
Robby tapped out of their chat and over to Whitaker's emergency number. He hesitated, not sure if he should send him a message as himself. He closed the SMS chat again and went back to the dating app.
MondayRide: Listen, I don't think we should text like this anymore.
Then he blocked his account, went back to his number and sent him a SMS.
Robby: Whitaker, do you use dating apps?
Whitaker: I don't think I should answer that, Dr. Robby.
Whitaker: Are you drunk?
Whitaker: Or do you need help with your profile? Because I'm sure you could ask Dr. Abbot
Robby attached a cutout from Whitaker's photo that showed Trinity's note.
Robby: I think we should talk about this.
Whitaker: Where the hell did you get this?
Robby could only imagine how pale Whitaker must be right now. The poor boy would probably need some time to let that information sink in. But this was real. Robby and Whitaker had been texting on a dating app for almost three months and that had been the most innocent part of the deal.
It didn't surprise Robby that Whitaker took a while to respond.
Whitaker: Omg that was you!? I'm so sorry! Please don't get me fired. I beg you. I worked so hard to become a doctor.
Robby: Calm down. I won't get you fired. But we need to talk about this tomorrow!
Whitaker: Yes of course.
-
Robby was on his way out from his first patient's room when he grabbed Whitaker by the back of his neck and led him to an empty room. He felt him tensing under his hands as Whitaker pulled up his shoulders and obediently followed.
As soon as the door was closed, Robby let go.
"God. Fuck. There are boundaries!", he said as he pulled the curtains shut.
"Yes. I-I totally agree. Shit, I'm so sorry, Dr. Robby. I've made a big mistake!"
"No, it was my-. I mean yes. What did you even think, sending strangers those photos?", Robby retorted, "Imagine it hadn't been me. It could be so much worse like someone blackmailing you or- or-"
Multiple expressions rushed over Whitaker's face until it settled in a frown.
Robby raised his hands, trying to emphasise his point. "You can't just let people see you like this. You need to have some boundaries, kid."
"Boundaries, yeah? Then you shouldn't have given me your house. ...Respectfully."
"No I probably should not- wait that was over a year ago."
"Yeah..."
"You... since... Oh my God, I'm going to hell."
"Definitely given me a hell of a time being alone with all your stuff." Whitaker almost laughed at it but it died quickly.
"That makes it sound like you didn't have fun housesitting for me."
"No. Yes. I did. But there also was all your touching and I think it gave me the wrong idea. You got my hopes up and then you did nothing about it when you returned from your sabbatical.", Whitaker rubbed his neck.
"It wasn't my intention to lead you on."
"Wait, let me talk. I'm not finished yet.", Whitaker interrupted him and Robby fell silent, "There were some really unreflected decisions on my part after that. I don't know what I was thinking when I texted you in the first place. And everything after that... just kind of happened."
"I don't blame you, Whitaker. You didn't know it was me."
"No, but your profile pic made me imagine it could be you."
"Okay..." Robby took a sharp breath. That must've been hard to admit. "But I texted you back despite seeing your profile too. It's my fault as well."
"Like when you said you wanted me to touch myself?"
"That was really unprofessional. I'm sorry."
"Mhm.", Whitaker hummed. There was something else in his voice then, "And I really shouldn't have sent you those pics."
Something shifted between them when Robby finally caught on. Whitaker's eyes dropped, going over his chest and shoulders and Robby did the same, trying to connect the images to the real physical body in front of him. They both knew how much they wanted this - had been wanting for over two months, almost three.
"Especially not the one in the lingerie. It was wrong asking for it in the first place.", Robby agreed.
"Yes. That one especially."
"Mhm."
"So wrong."
"Yeah. I promise to delete them."
"Is that really what you want?"
Robby scoffed. "Heavens, no."
It took only a moment of silence and them staring wordlessly into each other's eyes before they lurched at each other.
He wasn't a nice man, Robby thought. Most of the time it just sort of happened when he was stressed but sometimes he also wanted to be that asshole who just said and did as he felt. And this was one of those moments. He wanted to make mistakes, not be perfect, not do the right thing. He'd allow himself just this once - to do what his heart desired.
