“Why…are you like this?”
ENA’s breathing became more labored and her trembling more tense. She grabbed her sweating body and began to take deep breaths.
Sure, she was used to it, but this was different. What caused it was something else.
Even though this was her and Coral’s first time being intimate in their relationship, it isn’t ENA’s first like how it’s for Coral.
Before getting with Coral Glasses, she had very few sexual encounters with clients that were strictly out of business instead of an act of genuine connection. Along with being left behind to take care of herself.
When Coral was told this, it made her feel uneasy. Wondering whether to cry or hurt the ones who would objectify her. This led to her secretly promising that they will both take care of each other after they finished having intercourse with one another. Being acknowledged and benefited instead of caring for oneself after being abandoned.
When ENA managed to calm herself down from her panic attack, she left the bathroom and headed towards the closet. She began to put her pajamas on before she was interrupted by the switch of the lamp.
Coral yawns. “What are you doing?”
“Damn it! Could you dim the lights?!?”
“Sorry, sorry.” Coral then proceeded to dim with the switch. Afterwards, she continues her interrogation.
“Why are you getting dressed?”
ENA turns back around and stares at the wall. That question ended up becoming a debate in mind, pondering on what to say. She wanted to lie but knew that the businesswoman wouldn’t let it slide.
Even though ENA hasn’t given out an answer, Coral still suspected what it was, thinking back to their conversation about their agreement to copulate and her partner’s past experiences. However, Coral decided not to push her any further to avoid making her more distressed.
She sighs while fiddling her thumbs. “Come here.”
ENA was hesitant at first but eventually made her way over to bed after putting her pajamas back.
The businesswoman pulled the saleswoman closer to her body with their nudity making it feel warmer and safer. Coral squeezes her body tighter, making sure she doesn’t let go of her. Not that she was going to as long as she didn't let it happen.
“You didn’t have to-” Before ENA could finish her sentence, Coral shushes her.
“It’s fine. I don’t mind.” Coral then kisses her temple.
While ENA relaxes her body, Coral continues to question the existence of the species. She always wanted to learn more about them but wasn’t sure if her partner would be ready discussing it.
“Umm… ENA-”
“I can hear your heartbeat. It’s… soothing.”
The businesswoman was surprised but didn’t protest. She starts to stroke her hair and enjoy the silence of the room. A few minutes later, ENA lifts her head up and asks her a question.
“You need to say something?”
Coral put some thought into it before answering. “Actually, it can wait when you’re more comfortable.”
ENA nodded then laid her head on her chest again. Both of them begin to drift off to sleep when Coral turned off the lamp after she puts her glasses down.
