Chapter Text

Hi Dr Langdon,

I don’t know if you remember me, but we worked together the day of PittFest. I was the one with the braid who had a slight breakdown in the break room with a dog, if you recall. I’ll also be honest and say I don’t really know why I’m writing this letter, other than feeling alone here and missing your mentorship.

Dana gave me the address of where you are. I looked it up. It looks like a really nice place. For what it’s worth, I won’t tell anyone. There’s a couple of rumors that went around in the early days after you left, but the rumor mill has shifted to Samira and Jack.

Things remain pretty much the same here. I blend into the background and go where I’m needed. I like helping the patients, but it’s hard to feel so invisible. Halloween shift was crazy, but somehow today was even worse. You told me that day we met that this place needed sensitive people. I’m really trying to remember that.

If this letter is weird, out of line, an invasion of your personal space, bad for your recovery, or anything of the sort, please disregard and perhaps burn after reading (I’ve been watching more movies besides Elf lately since Becca moved to the center full time).

All the best,

Melissa King

(But everyone calls me Mel)
