Viktor stares down at the gold ring sitting in the palm of his hand. Did you know that so many rings from the Middle Ages aren't small just because people were smaller, but because it was common to wear rings on the middle joint? He can't remember who told him that, or even what the context is, but the information is too specific for him to have made it up.
And of course it has nothing to do with the actual ring in his hand. It's his brain's attempt to keep him distracted, to keep him from properly processing that Yuuri's just left him. Got anymore random ring-related facts for me? he asks himself. Only silence answers him.
Christ. Even the voice in his head has abandoned him. But maybe it's what he deserves.
