Chapter Text

I woke up to hear the
beeping of my clock blearing in my ears. Today is the last day of finals in school. My name is Lin Sky. I sat up and looked at my desk. My homework and study notes were all over the desk. I put the homework in my bag then put on a black shirt, blue jacket and red pants. I slung the bag over my shoulder and walked out of my door, in the hallway I heard my younger brother, Marcus, getting ready. He opened his door wearing a white shirt with a green jacket and brown pants. He used a messenger bag for school. I always said it was weird but Marcus didn’t listen. Just like how he didn’t listen to our mother when he dyed the tips of his hair red even though she said not to.
We walked down the
hallway into the kitchen, where our mother was making breakfast she had messy black hair, like mine but far longer, and more pale then my dark obsidian like hair that was barely past under my ears. The table had four chairs and four plates but we're a family of three, and have been for one year… me and Marcus exchanged a look of pity and sadness and without telling mother we moved the fourth chair and put away the plate while she made purple pancakes. It was our traditional style for pancakes. I went to the front of the house and put on my black shoes. Then I went back to the dining room and sat down with my brother and mom. Marcus and Mom were talking about art. It was their thing I never understood, it was like me with axe throwing. They never understood axe throwing. The only thing I understand is that Marcus loved art more than our mother whose an animator after Marcus ate he rushed to put on his gray shoes then me and Marcus walked to their bus stop and Marcus asked me, “Which finals are you having today?” I simply said, “algebra and biology.” Marcus said, “oh cool.” We got to our stop and waited five minutes til the bus came. When we got on we had a silent agreement to pretend to not know each other. I sat in the middle of the bus Marcus sat at the back, I noticed a forest that wasn’t there the other day while I looked out the window. When we get to school and off the bus we still pretend and Marcus practically runs to his friend Parker. I walk with my friends Maya, and Kelly.
