Prime Time

Summary:

Adoptable fic idea

Work Text:

Transformers Prime Bumblebee grabbed an Iacon relic, but it went off while he was holding it, temporarily stunning him. The Decepticons managed to take it from him while he was distracted and escaped through a ground bridge, leaving the Autobots unsure what they just stole and what it did.

But they quickly find out what, because now Bumblebee's timeslipping, switching between the different versions of him from across the greater aligned continuity.

And that's not all, because the relic also summoned the rescue bots, Team Bee, and the rescue bot recruits. Probably not any human allies though, just the Cybertronians, because it's a Cybertronian artifact.

Also, the rescue bots are from season four, so technically that means there are two sets of rescue bots running around in present day, since the rescue bots show runs concurrent to Transformers Prime.

Bee's very confused, to say the least, especially when he starts switching between different versions of himself. Because it doesn't just change what he looks like, it also changes his memories, so from Bee's perspective he was just fighting Megatronus Prime only to be back at the old Autobot base which should've been blown up already.

When he's lucid, Bumblebee uses his future knowledge and the bots from the future help out Team Prime in defeating the Decepticons. However, this isn't their proper time period, and everyone affected by the relic start glitching. Ratchet figured out that they need to use the relic to send them back to their respective times before they die, but unfortunately, the Decepticons still have it. So they have to get it back from the cons before it's too late.

But before that, everyone bonds, because this is a crossover fic and what's a crossover fic without bonding and banter?

The OG rescue bots are taking this much better than everyone else. They've had incidents with time travel before, of course, and weirder things have happened on Griffin Rock.

Ratchet's very surprised that he has a nephew to say the least. He acts wary around Medix at first, not because he dislikes him, Ratchet just doesn't know how to act. Especially when the other recruits describe the Ratchet they met as fun and smiley. Way less grumpy than Prime Ratchet. But Ratchet eventually comes to care for Medix like a parent.

The rescue bot recruits are also really confused by Grimlock, since their Grimlock wasn't green and was way smarter than this. It's definitely the same Grimlock though, since RBA Grimlock referenced Scowl and Underbite, so I have no idea what's going on here. Maybe he had a Grimlock's new brain incident in between series or something.

Team Prime is also flabbergasted by the rescue bots' powers. All of them are at least triple changers, and even have a dinobot form, not to mention their power up and energize tools. Medix basically has a version of the polarity gauntlet built into his arm, and that's a literal Iacon relic. Hoist can cut through metal like it's nothing and Hotshot can make anything as long as he knows the chemical combination.

The general consensus is, why are little kids so powerful in the future?!

Also, when they're showing off, Whirl randomly asked Optimus if he could turn into a t-rex to join Hoist and Grimlock, and Team Prime immediately stared at him.

Apparently Optimus didn't tell them about his dino form because he didn't intend to use it. Last time he transformed, he did lose control of himself and hurt people he cared about.

But the other dinobots give him advice on how to better control himself so it doesn't happen again, and the next time they fight Decepticons, Optimus turns into a dinosaur and bites Megatron's arm off.

Not his fusion cannon, unfortunately, but there was no way that Optimus was putting that in his mouth.

Not to mention how the rescue bots of both generations randomly mention all of the weird adventures they've been through. Team Prime would assume that they're making it all up, except they're so truthful and genuine about it.

And then Ratchet says that yes, he did patch up the OG rescue bots after they gave up their energon to help fly Griffin Rock back to Maine after it got teleported to the north pole, do you believe them now?

And then Medix casually mentioned that they trained scraplets and we all know how the scraplet infestation went for Team Prime.

Optimus is still hesitant to let the new Autobots into the field to help fight the Decepticons, though, despite their power. For one thing, the rescue bots, recruits or not, aren't soldiers like Team Prime. And the recruits are kids. And Team Bee is made up of two teenagers even younger than Prime Bumblebee, a glitchy minicon, and... well, they're fine with Grimlock, except for the fact that he can't transform into a car to disguise himself but Fowler takes care of that. And Ratchet helps Fixit's glitches, because seriously, why is Team Bee just fine with letting him wander around with a mental disorder?

The bots all want to help, though, especially since Team Prime is down a member with Bumblebee ordered to stay behind at base since he can't control his timeslipping. And with the addition of thirteen new bots in the base, it's not only very cramped but energon supplies are at an all-time low. At least Medix knows the formula for synthetic energon since he's from the future where Ratchet already solved it, but the bots just don't have enough resources or technology to synthesize enough for everyone.

So one way or another, they end up joining the war. Team Bee is first, since they've already been fighting Decepticons. The adult rescue bots don't just sit around either, especially Heatwave. They've fought the morbots and while they weren't sentient, they do have experience.

The rescue bot recruits weren't meant to get involved, but they did, because kids in kids shows keep getting into trouble. Maybe they went out on a walk for some fresh air, maybe they just wanted to help the adults, maybe the ground bridge just malfunctioned with so many new bots who aren't from this timeline, whatever the reason, they end up in the middle of a battlefield.

The Vehicons are super confused and most of them didn't want to fight the very obvious kids and where did they even come from, the AllSpark has been gone for years, so how in the world were there new Cybertronians?

But other Decepticons *cough* Starscream *cough* Megatron *cough* don't have that restraint.

And so the recruits are forced to fight for their lives.

The thing is though, while the rescue bots were trained in saving people instead of fighting them, they definitely did train their power up and energize tools. And if you're creative enough, anything can be a weapon.

Hotshot pinned Megatron in place with his combicannon, Hoist cut his other arm off with his laser, Wedge augered him in the face, Whirl showed them the way to escape, and Medix cleared the path with his magnetism powers as they all ran off.

Once they got back to base, though, they're all sufficiently traumatized. They're post-war kids, after all, and while they learned about it in class, they've never had to really fight anyone before, or confront how bloody their history really was.

Wedge took it extra hard because he used to be a Decepticon. Thankfully, Grimlock was also an ex-con, and the unlikely duo sympathized with each other as the adults tried to give the kids some much-needed therapy.

Unfortunately, Megatron survived, if only because the recruits didn't want to kill someone. He's extremely incensed that he was beat by a couple of untrained kids, and he's sure that Starscream is laughing at him behind his back.

He totally is, by the way.

Still, Megatron was intrigued by the strange relics that the kids had, and wondered if he could take them for himself. If the relics came attached to the recruits, well, then they'd just have to cut them out.

So somehow, the recruits get kidnapped and taken to the Nemesis. They're all understandably terrified, but Wedge managed to talk a friendly Vehicon into letting them go, and on their way out they grabbed the relics that the Decepticons had including the one that brought them to this timeline in the first place. Even while they're glitching, the recruits caused utter chaos in the Nemesis and Hoist set the controls to have the ship crash as they flew out of there since all of them could fly. Well, except Hoist and Wedge, but the other three carried them to safety.

Unfortunately, Megatron is now even more angry and is out to kill them, but that's when Team Prime, Team Bee, and the OG rescue bots come to rescue them.

Thanks to the many Peggy Sues, the war is ended early and Team Prime uses the relic to fix Bee and send everyone back to their respective times.
