Chapter Text

The camera opened on a remote, rugged island surrounded by dark waters and jagged cliffs. Despite it being summer, the air was cool and crisp, with dense pine forests stretching across most of the land and a strange tundra-like stretch cutting through one side of the island. At its center, there is a blue lagoon, perfectly still as it reflects the sky above.
“Ever wondered what would happen if you had to compete with the people you care about most?” Emily’s voice cut in as the camera drifted over cliffs, beaches, and frozen pines before finally settling at the towering gates of the camp.
“This season, we’re taking things to a whole new level! Ten returning Disventure Camp players… and the ten people they trust most in the world will spend the next 52 days here on Boreluna Island!”. The camera revealed her standing at the entrance, the wind pushing against her hair as she smiled sharply. “Pairs will be split. Loyalties will be tested. And in the end, only one player will take home the prize of one million dollars!”
She stepped forward, gesturing toward the island behind her.
A shot of the central blue lagoon filled the screen, its surface shimmering as though hiding something beneath.
“I’m your host, Emily Campbell, and this is Disventure Camp: Blood vs Water!”
*Intro plays and ends*
The camera opens on two motor boats cutting across the dark water toward the island, each carrying the contestants cast for the season. On the first boat, five pairs sit packed together, the energy already a mix of tension and determination.
A brown-haired young woman beams brightly from her seat, practically glowing with enthusiasm as she leans toward Riya and waves, trying to ask the actress for an autograph. Riya barely acknowledges it, her expression sharp, unimpressed, and judgmental.
Zaid notices instantly. Without a word, he slides an arm around the woman beside him and shoots Riya a warning glare, protective and already irritated by the attitude coming from the actress.
Static.
Confessional (Zaid):
”Okay I’ll admit it. I didn’t really… want to come back. But, Zayna convinced me to. She was so excited when we got invited I couldn’t say no.” smiling awkwardly then turns serious. ”Though, I just hope I won’t have to deal with the same crap I did during my season…”
Static.
Across from them, James watches the interaction unfold with narrowed eyes. The woman sitting next to Riya looks almost too eager and confident. Something about it doesn’t sit right with him. He knows how much of an asshole Riya can be. Hell, calling Riya an asshole is a compliment compared to all the things he has to say about her. It most likely means her sister shouldn’t be any different. They are part of the same bloodline after all.
The Indian woman catches his stare and blinks in confusion, clearly thrown off by the suspicion aimed at her. After a beat, she rolls her eyes and scoots a little closer to Riya anyway, trying to make her stop glaring at the chef.
Beside James, the blonde girl lets out an annoyed sigh, throwing a side glance toward the sisters before muttering something under her breath that instantly makes her brother grin.
Further down the boat, Marissa shifts uncomfortably, clearly sensing the rising tension. She quickly turns to Zaid, striking up a conversation in an attempt to lighten the mood. The muscular man next to her joins in easily, his tone warm and steady, and both Zaid and his sister relax slightly at the easy friendliness he brings into the moment.
At the far end of the boat, Grett watches everything with a faint, amused smirk, already plotting her first moves. Then she leans back into the brunette man beside her, a confident smile on his face as he takes in the approaching island.
He pulls her in just a little closer, holding her securely as if making sure she stays grounded beside him, while Grett settles into his embrace without hesitation, feeling completely comfortable in his arms.
Static.
Confessional (Alexander and Grett):
”Oh we have this in the bag! Am I right babe?” Alexander says, visibly confident.
”As always darling! Back on All-Stars, for most of my time on the show, I was just a ‘wounded glazelle’ as Riya put it…” Grett says disappointed in herself, her boyfriend giving her a sympathetic look.
”But, this season I’ll actually play from the beginning the way I want! And my new boyfriend will definitely help more than slowing me down. I learned my lesson y’know. If I even suspect you are trying something against me, you’ll see what happens.” Teasing, grinning up at Alexander.
”Oh I know. You’ll put me in my place in no time. But, we are going to dominate this game together!” the man says kissing Grett’s cheek.
Static.
On the second motorboat, the mood feels a bit lighter, more quiet anticipation as it glides steadily across the water.
Jake sits near the front, leaning slightly forward as he talks with Amelie. Both of them carry a focused intensity, their expressions set with determination and competitiveness. Amelie gestures subtly as she speaks, while Jake nods along, clearly just as driven.
Next to Amelie, her boyfriend seems far less concerned with strategy. He’s relaxed, shoulders loose, gaze drifting toward the island ahead as he takes in the scenery with an easy smile, occasionally glancing back at her conversation but not fully engaging.
A few seats down, the soft hum of a vape breaks the calm rhythm of the boat. The blue-haired man exhales a thin stream of vapor, completely unbothered, his posture casual.
Lynda notices immediately, bothered by his action and the smell coming from it. She shoots him a sharp side-eye, her disapproval obvious. Almost instinctively, she turns toward the blonde-haired boy sitting beside her, her son, and gently tries to angle his attention away from the scene. She leans in and begins a quiet but firm lecture about the dangers of smoking, her tone full of parental authority.
The boy slumps slightly in his seat, clearly having heard this lecture before. His expression tightens with mild embarrassment and irritation, eyes flicking away as he mutters under his breath, wishing the moment would pass faster.
Static.
Confessional (Kenneth):
”Oh God…” covering his eyes irritated.
”I really want to win that money so I can finally move out but… I’m really starting to think coming here with mom was a huge mistake. She’s just gonna embarrass me on international television. Just… Great.”
Static.
Further along the boat, Richard leans slightly toward Lynda, striking up a conversation. His tone is easy and welcoming, and it doesn’t take long before a light laugh escapes him, the kind that naturally draws attention. Lynda, still carrying that composed, no-nonsense presence, softens just a touch as she responds, clearly appreciating the shift to something more civil. Kenneth lets out a quiet breath of relief, his shoulders finally dropping now.
Richard’s laughter lingers as he casually wraps an arm around the young woman sitting beside him, his daughter. She leans into the gesture comfortably, offering a warm, polite smile toward both her father and the housewife.
Toward the back, Finn watches the entire scene unfold with clear disinterest. He rolls his eyes, unimpressed by the small talk and awkward energy, and shifts his weight as he leans comfortably against the man beside him. His boyfriend doesn’t seem bothered at all, in fact, he’s wearing a confident grin, clearly entertained and determined to play.
The two motorboats slow as they approach the island, engines rumbling lower until they fade into a soft idle. The shoreline comes into full view.
With a final jolt, both boats come to a stop. One by one, the contestants begin to step off. All twenty contestants gather, forming a loose group on the shore.
Ahead of them, standing on a slightly elevated patch of ground with the island stretching out behind her, is Emily.
The group finishes funneling off the boats and onto the shore.
Then Emily steps forward onto a raised rock.
“Welcome,” she announces, arms open, “to Boreluna Island!”
People clap out of excitement and/or politeness.
Emily continues.
“You are officially standing on your new home for the next 52 days where you will-”
A faint hiss.
Emily pauses mid-sentence.
Her head slowly turns.
Shawn is standing slightly off to the side of the group, completely relaxed, casually vaping like he’s at a bus stop.
A thin cloud of vapor drifts out as he exhales.
Nicole notices first and immediately covers her mouth to hide a laugh. Jake looks over, face-palming.
Emily stares for a second, then she walks over irritated. “Shawn.” she says trying to stay calm.
He lowers the vape slightly. “Yeah?”
Emily holds out her hand. “Give me that.”
Shawn blinks. “What-why?”
Emily’s smile tightens, trying to keep everything prefessional. “Because I am confiscating it.”
He looks at it, then back at her. “It’s just-”
“I don’t care, just give it!”
Emily takes it from his hand and walking back to her place.
“None of these are allowed,” she continues. ”Was the contract not clear enough about personal belongings being restricted?”
Shawn shrugs. “I mean... I skimmed it!”
Emily’s eyes close briefly holding the bridge of her nose. “Of course you did.”
She holds up the vape. “How did you even get this through production? We literally searched your bags.”
A pause.
Shawn raises his shoulders smiling sheepishly as Jake tries not to burst out in laughter.
Emily stares at him. ”...Never mind.”
She puts the vape in her pocket and continues. “Moving on-”
Shawn intrerupts again. “So I’m not getting it back?”
Emily frowns, clearly losing her patience. “No!”
Shawn sighs. “Damn.”
James mutters, “He took it better than expected.”
Jake whispers back, “Give it ten minutes.”
Emily claps once, snapping everyone’s attention back.
“Now! As I was saying before I was so rudely intrerupted...”
She gestures to the island behind her.
“…this is your new home for the next 52 days where you will compete for the grand prize of ONE MILLION DOLLARS.”
“And since this,” she spreads her arms slightly, “is a Blood vs Water season, you will be separated! On one side… we have the returning players. The ones who already know how brutal this game can be, and on the other team will be the ones that know them best!”
WATER TEAM: Amelie, Finn, Grett, Jake, James, Lynda, Marissa, Richard, Riya, Zaid
BLOOD TEAM: Alexander, Carla, Eesha, Eric, Henry, Kenneth, Nicole, Sage, Shawn, Zayna
“Alright” she says, clapping her hands once. “Now that we’ve established your teams… it’s time to get things started.”
Emily steps forward slightly, gesturing toward the lagoon behind her.
“For your first challenge you’ll be diving straight into the lake. At the bottom of this lake are six crates. Each one contains a puzzle piece. Your goal is simple: retrieve all six, bring them back to shore, and complete the puzzle on your team’s chest.”
“The first team to successfully recover all their crates and finish their puzzle… wins the challenge. And trust me, you’ll want to win this one.”
“Inside your team’s chest is food and a map leading to a shelter that has beds and even a furnace! Nights get chilly around here, so it will come in handy. The losers better have fun building one.”
Emily raises a finger.
“One more thing. This is a non-elimination challenge. Nobody is going home today. But don’t get comfortable,” Emily adds quickly.
“Each team will send six players into the water to retrieve the crates, while the remaining four stay on shore to guide them with these tablets.”
She hand the tablets over to Alexander, Carla, Amelie and Marissa.
“I'll let you a bit to choose your divers and guiders and we'll get started.”
Water Team
Riya speaks first ”I'd rather stay out of the water.”
James rolls his eyes as Marissa adds ”Fine, we'll not force you. Who else wants to guide?”
Lynda raises her hand ”I'll guide too.”
“I’ll stay as well.” Amelie says. “Someone competent needs to give instructions.”
Lynda gives her a look ”Oh and what is that supposed to mean?”
“Oh please.” Amelie adds rolling her eyes. “This isn’t exactly… homemaking.”
That lands.
Lynda stiffens immediately. “Excuse me?”
Amelie says confident. “I’m just saying, some of us are used to actual pressure.”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” Lynda snaps, stepping closer. “Raising a child doesn’t count as pressure to you?”
Kenneth, overhears and groans, muttering under his breath. “Oh my God…”
Amelie folds her arms. “Not the kind that wins games.”
Finn smirks, mildly entertained. Grett face-palms. ”We don't have time for this.”
“Ladies,” Richard cuts in calmly, stepping between them. “Maybe let's focus on the challenge?”
The tension lingers, but they step back.
“Fine.” Both women mumbling.
Blood Team
Eric begins. ”Okay, let's asign the roles. Who wants to do which?”
Zayna raises her hand. ”Oh, I want to dive.”
Eesha sees that and raises her hand too. ”Same here.”
Henry adds ”I'll guide. I think observing how Amelie runs her company might be useful for that. But I won't boss you around, promise, heh.”
Sage raises an eyebrow. ”Al...right then.”
Cuts to the next scene.
The divers are: Finn, Jake, Zaid, James, Marissa and Grett for the Water Team, and Alexander, Shawn, Sage, Eesha, Zayna and Eric for the Blood Team.
Emily doesn’t wait for another word.
She lifts her arm, eyes sharp, voice cutting clean through the tension:
“The challenge starts NOW!”
Water erupts as both teams dive into the lagoon.
Water Team
Now underwater, Grett is already taking control.
“We’ll waste time bumping into each other if we go by ourselves,” she says quickly. “Let's pair up. It’ll be easier for them to guide us.”
Up on shore, Lynda, Amelie, Riya, and Richard are already staring down at their tablets.
Zaid nods. “Yeah, makes sense.”
Finn immediately adds. ”I'll go with Jake.”
Jake is surprised and clearly not thrilled about it. ”Sure. Why not.”
Nearby, Grett turns to Zaid.
“Zaid. Wanna pair up?”
Zaid hesitates for half a second, clearly unsure, but then nods. “Alright.”
Which leaves Marissa and James.
They exchange a quick look. “Well. Guess we’re stuck together.” James says smiling towards Marissa.
Marissa gives a small, determined nod. “Perfect, come on James.”
“Alright gals, listen carefully!” Lynda’s voice comes through the headset, already commanding. “Grett, Zaid, veer slightly left. James, Marissa, keep going forward. There is a crate in that direction.”
Blood Team
Alexander and Eric swim ahead confidently, already scanning the bottom of the lake.
Zayna dives deep with clear determination, kicking fast. Eesha follows close behind.
Everyone else pretty much scattered around.
Above the water...
Carla grips her tablet tightly. “Okay, uh, everyone spread out! That’s good, right? Coverage?”
Kenneth answers. ”I think so, we are covering more ground this way, collecting the crates should take less time.”
“Alexander, there’s something to your right.” Carla adds quickly.
Henry leans over another tablet. “Zayna, go deeper, you’re close to something.”
There’s a pause.
“…Wait, no, Sage, I think you're closer, hold on-”
Sage’s voice cuts in, dry even through static: “You guys wanna decide or…?” When he sees he ain't getting a clear answer yet, he swims in the direction he thinks is best.
The scene cuts to Finn and Jake.
Jake is following Richard's directions as Finn lags behind, then strikes a conversation. ”So... Jake...” His tone friendly but obviously fake.
Jake lets out a hum to signal he is listening.
Finn continues ”How has your life been? You know, how is your life married to... Tom?” Trying to not faint just thinking about how hot Jake's husband is.
Jake, now annoyed, answers. ”Good. Now let's just focus on the challenge?” Trying to keep the conversation short.
A disappointed Finn continues. ”Oh so... No fights, nothing? Okay then. I'm so... happy for you...” Then he mumbles a silent ”fuck”, making Jake scoff and roll his eyes.
Richard's voice can be heard through the headset. ”Jake, it's right in front of you.”
Jake smirks and grabs it, then looks at Finn and says ”Hey, why don't you take it and go back to the surface. I'll just keep searching for another one.”
Finn scoffs, getting the message that Jake just wants him to leave. The actor mumbles ”fine” and swims to the surface. Jake visibly exhales in relief, clearly happy to see Finn leaving.
From a distance, Sage observes the interaction and based on their facial expressions, he can guess what the conversation was about, thing that makes him clench his teeth in anger.
Static.
Confessional (Jake):
”Finally. Thank God he actually left. I really can't stand that asshole and we've only been here for a few hours. Don't worry babe, I'll take care of him soon enough.” Smiling confident at the camera, the last part clearly meant for Tom.
Static.
Confessional (Sage):
”Ugh, I really thought after the fight we had when he came home from last season, he would back off and stop thirsting over that guy. Oh next time we talk, we'll have a VERY serious conversation about this. He can't just play with my feelings like they don't even matter.”
Static.
The scene changes to Zayna and Eesha.
The girls swim together and thanks to Carla's instructions, they find a crate. Zayna picks it up and lets out an excited ”Yes! One down, a few more to go!”
Eesha smiles at Zayna's enthusiasm and adds ”Great job. Um... Hey, Zayna?”
Zayna listening. ”What's up?”
Eesha continues, rubbing her arm. ”I'm sorry about... you know... Riya. She is not a bad person at heart but- this whole 'Villainess of TV' title is messing with her head. It leads to her just being... like this in public. Don't take it too personally...”
Zayna understands and says ”Oh. No worries. I completely understand. Though... wondering how does she plan to make it far with that attitude again. Doubt anyone is falling for her tricks a 3rd time.”
Eesha clarifies. ”Actually, I'm pretty sure the only reason why she even agreed to come back is because I really wanted to join and she didn't want to upset me. She is clearly not interested in competing since you know... but I am. If she managed to get exposure from this show, so can I. Really need it if I want to also make it big in the industry without staying in her shadow.”
Zayna nods. ”Fair enough, and actually, same with Zaid! My bro wasn't really open to the idea of returning. Thankfully I managed to convince him. We are pretty similar regarding that huh? Anyway, all I can say is please don't turn into Riya 2.0, we don't need another villainess of TV on this show.” Chuckling a bit.
Eesha giggles too. ”Hopefully not, I saw how things turned out for my sis last time.” As she keeps swimming she finds a crate too and picks it up. ”Here is another one. Let's get these to the surface.” To which Zayna agrees.
Eesha swims upward but something catches Zayna's attention. She goes next to an underwater cave and sees an odd piece of stone, carved into a face similar to something familiar from previous seasons... Then she realizes, it's an immunity idol. She celebrates quietly and takes it with her, following the Indian woman.
Back to the surface, Amelie and Lynda keep arguing.
A completely livid Amelie warns ”You are sending them too far off. Zaid, Grett, turn right and there is the-”
Lynda intrerupts. ”Oh, for cryin' out loud, what in the world are ya going on about? They clearly need to keep going forward.”
Zaid confused. ”Uh. Guys? Be clear, where do we have to-”
Amelie contradicts Lynda. ”You are looking at Marissa's location you imbecile.”
Riya holds the bridge of her nose, visibly frustrated, then sees Eesha, Zayna and Sage with their crates, taking out the puzzle pieces, thing that makes Riya even more pissed off at her teammates' incompetence.
Marissa tries to mediate. ”Girls. Maybe we should-”
Lynda keeps going. ”Oh, think I know how to spot a red thingy on the screen. Maybe you are the one that doesn't-”
Riya comes over, her patience lost. ”That's it! Leave it up to me. You two are going to make us lose, the other team has 3 pieces already, we have one!”
Amelie, Richard and Lynda glance at the other team, observing they have made significant progress compared to them. Riya snatches the tablet out of Lynda's hands and starts giving directions. ”Zaid, go right and close to you is one of the crates. Grett, yours is closer to the other side of the lake, you need to go forward and then right when you see a bunch of seaweed. Marissa, move to the left, James to the right, next to some jagged rocks.”
James scoffs. ”Right away.” Then mumbles ”Still not as jagged as your reputation..”
Riya hearing the last part asks offended. ”What did you say?”
James answers with a neutral tone. ”You heard me.” Swimming to the direction Riya told him.
Now, on the Water Team:
”Eric, Alex, go right next to the cave and the crates should be there.” Nicole says as she manages to lead Alexander and Eric to 2 crates, the men fist-bumping seeing the loot, confident they will win the challenge.
Nicole says ”Great! Just one more. Shawn? I told you to go forward, what are you doing at the bottom of the lake?”.
Shawn, not in the mood for being lectured, starts arguing. ”Well maybe if you gave better directions, we would have won by now.”
From afar, Jake and James, who found each other like a minute ago and were swimming with their crates so they can take them back to shore see Shawn completely irritated and losing his patience, most likely the pressure of his vape getting taken away rising to his brain.
Jake has a snarky look on his face, then tells James ”Oh, he managed to not be irascible for an hour. Impressive. But really, might be better for him this way.
James adds ”And for us. He is not focused at all. This is in our advantage.” They swim away, bringing their crates to the surface.
On the other side of the lake, Grett also picks up her crate. Then, as her and Zaid swim back to the shore, Grett smirks and starts talking ”So. Probably you wonder why I chose to be paired up with you during this challenge.”
Zaid raises an eyebrow and nods. ”You can say that.”
Grett continues. ”The thing is that, you are a strong player Zaid and if it wasn't for you being so... passive on your season, I am completely sure you would have made it to the end. I see your potential.”
That makes Zaid's brows furrow in thought, pretty much everyone said the same thing about his gameplay from Carnival of Chaos, both his friends and people on social media, but it also sounds like she is too ”nice” to him out of nowhere.
”I can see that you can be a worthy ally. Which is why I propose we form an alliance. You are definitely someone I want to take to the end, beside my boyfriend of course.” Grett continues.
Zaid displays a skeptical look on his face, suspicious Grett is manipulating him. ”And why would I trust you...? What makes me a better ally option than anyone else?”
Grett clarifies ”Because, you are practically alone on this team and the most trustworthy between all the options I have. Just look at the dynamics. Everyone else has some sort of rivalry or is prone to taking sides. But if we work together, as chaos takes over the team, we would be watching from the sidelines, safe and sound. Don't you like the sound of that?”
Zaid feels that Grett's proposal sounds reasonable. And knowing his own position on the team, she logically has no reason to betray him.
Grett extends a hand and Zaid shakes it, still a bit unsure. ”Deal.”
Static.
Confessional (Grett):
”Well that was easy. But really, most of the things I said to him are actually true. If he wants to keep his honor this season too, I doubt he'll throw me under the bus at any point. And since he is completely alone in this game and trustworthy, it seems like he will be a good alliance member. Now, I just have to talk to a few more people too so I can assure a majority right from the start.” Confident she is making the right decision.
Static.
Confessional (Zaid):
”For the record, I don't trust Grett at all. Last time I dedicated myself too much to certain people, most of them ended up betraying me. I'll agree to her deal, but I'm not making the same mistake again. If that british weasel taught me one thing is that it's always good to keep my door open at all times, even if it means working with people I can't stand.” Says serious and determined to not make the same mistakes this time around too.
Static.
Marissa, Eric, Alexander, James and Jake arrive with their crates too, which leaves Zaid, Grett and Shawn.
Grett and Zaid arrive and bring the crates. The Water Team breaks open the wooden crates, collect the pieces and start assembling them on the chest. When Shawn surfaces with his crate too, it's too late because the other team finished the puzzle unlocking their chest.
Grett throwing her arms up ”YES!”
Emily steps forward and gestures toward the Water Team. ”Water Team wins the challenge!”
The returnees cheer, happy to have won.
Riya adds, smirking arrogantly ”Everything thanks to me.”
Eyes narrow, James and Zaid glare at her as Jake says sarcastic ”Suuuure. Whatever makes you happy.”
Emily continues, gesturing at the chest ”Water Team. Open the chest and retrieve your well earned reward.”
”As for the losers, just be thankful this is a non-elimination episode. Now here is a map to your campsite where a pot and machete will be waiting for you.” Emily says as she throws the map at the Blood Team, Eric catching it.
”Also, there are two immunity idols and three advantages hidden around the island. Have fun searching for them in your free time.”
That makes everyone smile and feel more confident about their chances.
The scene cuts to the Blood Team campsite.
Alexander creates friction between two rocks to make fire while Eric and Henry carry a bunch of heavy logs to use for the shelter.
Alex says in a pretty good mood ”I got fire.”
Eric nods and continues the conversation ”And me and Henry gathered wood for the shelter.”
”We have to build something fast, or else we'll likely freeze tonight.” Henry adds.
Alex responds ”Man, you're right. We need to be faster.” Then sees Zayna and Shawn ”Guys! Gather big leaves and branches to use for the shelter!”
Zayna and Shawn nod.
Farther away from camp, Eesha and Carla walk side by side, a few feet apart, scanning bushes for anything edible, both on food searching duty.
Eesha glances over, trying to break it. “So... at least we’re not on fire like some teams would be after that challenge.”
Carla hums faintly. Not quite agreeing nor engaging.
Eesha notices but keeps going. “I mean, it could’ve been worse. Everyone’s still pretty level-headed.”
Carla crouches slightly, inspecting a bush. “Mm.”
Eesha straightens, brushing her hands together. “You always this talkative, or am I just lucky?”
That gets a reaction. Barely... Carla smirks to herself, still not looking at her. “Depends who I’m talking to.”
Eesha lets out a small laugh. “Alright... What does that mean?”
Carla finally stands, holding a small handful of berries. She inspects them carefully before responding.
“It means,” she says casually, “I don’t waste energy where it’s not useful.”
There’s something pointed in that. Eesha’s smile fades. “And talking to me isn’t useful?”
Carla shrugs. “Hasn’t been so far.”
That lands harder. Eesha crosses her arms slightly. “Did I do something?”
Carla finally looks at her properly. Not angry. Just... unimpressed. “No.” she says simply. Then she turns and starts walking again.
Eesha follows, more alert now. “Okay, then what is it?” After saying it something clicks. ”Oh. Is it about my sister?”
Carla tilts her head. “Bingo.”
Eesha exhales, a bit sharper now. “I’m not her.”
“Didn’t say you were.”
“But you’re acting like it.”
Carla lets out a small, humorless chuckle. “No. I’m acting like I’ve seen how she moves and I’m not interested in dealing with a second version of that. You can't tell me someone who left my brother to die in a cave and his boyfriend on a cliff will ever be alright in my book. And if I'm not mistaken, traits run through the family. You probably took some of that from your sis.”
Eesha’s posture straightens immediately, frustrated now. “That’s not fair. You don't even know me.”
Carla shrugs again. “First impressions matter.”
“Then maybe give me a chance to make one?” Eesha shoots back.
Carla pops a berry into her mouth. “We’ll see.” And just like that, she turns and keeps walking.
“Unbelievable.” Eesha mutters.
From a distance, Zayna sees Eesha in a bad mood due to the interaction from earlier. She takes the leaves and branches from her hands and puts them in Shawn's. ”You mind if you take these too? Okay, cya!” Leaving quickly.
Shawn looks confused, saying a bit louder ”And you're just gonna leave me alone doing all the work?” A pause. ”Alright.” His shoulders and head dropping in annoyance.
Static.
Confessional (Zayna):
”Social game is crucial on this show. This is why very important is picking a number 1 ally on my team and I think I found a good candidate for that.”
Static.
*A 30 sec montage of Nicole and Sage searching for the idol or at least an advantage, but both leaving disappointed when it started getting dark and still nothing.*
The moving on to the Water Team campsite.
Zaid is shown stirring in the pot, ocassionaly tasting so he knows what more to add. He doesn't want to waste the ingredients they received.
Riya walks over ”Ugh, will you be done already? It's taking you forever.”
Zaid, clearly annoyed by that comment responds ”It will be, wait longer.”
Riya narrows her eyes. ”Fine. By the way, you better bring me my portion and a split-open coconut too if you're at it. That's the least any of you could do to thank me for taking charge during the challenge. I'll be on the beach catching some rays.”
”Oh and I look like a waiter to you? Drop that bratty attitude and when it's done, grab your portion here with everyone else.” Says Zaid, his patience wearing thin.
The actress scoffs, offended. ”Well, you might as well be. I wouldn't be surprised if you had more experience in that field, asshole.”
They glare at each other and Richard separates them ”Woah, woah. Let's calm down. It's the first day, we shouldn't have to pick fights so early on kids.” Then his attention is caught by Lynda and Amelie, avoiding each other, not even willing to look the other in the eye. Grett is peeking from the door of the cabin, grinning at the rising conflict happening in the tribe.
Marissa comes back from gathering wood and feels the palpable tension. She puts the branches down and follows Lynda.
”Lynda! Did something happen?” Marissa asks concerned.
Lynda sighs in frustration. “Oh, I just can’t stand that uptight Amelie. Who does she think she is, anyhow, underestimatin’ me like that? I mean, c’mon. For over eighteen years now I’ve been raisin’ my kids and workin’ real hard to take care of ‘em, you know? And now all of a sudden that doesn’t even count as hard work anymore?”
”Yeah, I agree that's unfair to you. Just try to not... take everything Amelie says to heart. Being a good mother is one of the hardest jobs any woman can have. And based on how much you care about yours, it's pretty clear your heart is in the right place.” Marissa says, trying to comfort her.
Lynda's eyes widen, then tear up a bit. ”You really mean that hun?”
Marissa nods and Lynda hugs her. ”Thank you Marissa. Y'know... I meant it. Your parents really raised a wonderful daughter.” That makes Marissa smile and hug her back.
Static.
Confessional (Lynda):
”Marissa’s right. I should probably stop gettin’ so worked up about what people say about my life. Sure, I did want a bit more for myself, but I’m still real proud of what I’ve done with my family.” smiles feeling better. ”And now that I’ve kinda made peace with that… well, all I can say is Lynda Anderson is here to win, folks! Oh yeah, she is.” Visibly determined to show what she really is capable of.
Static.
