Work Text:
It’s twelve at night and Obi-Wan’s oldest son is nowhere to be found inside his room. As far as he can remember, he had told Jango, his husband, to put their son to bed at 10 the latest.
Obi-Wan comes to check on Boba after he just finished nursing their youngest son, Cal. The little one just turned 1 year old last week and he is still actively nursing.
With a little bit of an annoyance, Obi-Wan walks towards his husband’s, the Mand’alor, meeting room. Since Boba is now five years old, he is getting more curious about what his dad does everyday.
He is well aware that his dad is the leader or ruler of this planet and he will inherit that position when he is old enough. That is why Obi-Wan is one hundred percent sure that his first born is currently with Jango, disturbing him and his vods meetings.
“I know someone that is supposed to be in bed,” Obi-Wan stands still in front of the wide-opened meeting room’s door with folded hands in front of his chest as he stares at his son and husband.
“Uh-oh, mommy is here,” Jango teased. He is currently sitting in the middle of the round table that faces Obi-Wan directly. So he can see his husband's unpleasant expression. He knew he was about to be scolded along with his son.
Meanwhile, Boba, who was standing on the chair beside his dad now immediately flopped down to a sitting position upon seeing his mom. Due to his height, only from his nose and above is visible to Obi-Wan. His son looks absolutely adorable but now is not the time to think about it.
Obi-Wan is pretty strict with Boba’s spelling schedule because Boba is an active toddler. When he doesn't get enough sleep for the day, everybody’s day will be ruined by his tantrum.
His mid-day nap time is already cut short because somehow Boba just refuses to sleep longer than one hour. No matter how late he slept the night before, he also refuses to wake up later than seven in the morning.
And who needs to deal with all of that? Of course mostly Obi-Wan because Jango needs to work so they really can’t split the task equally.
“Your son should have been in bed two hours ago, Jango,” Obi-Wan said firmly as he refused to step further inside the room.
Tonight, Jango is supposed to be discussing some trivial matters with his brothers, Mij, Kal and Silas. They are three of Jango’s most trusted men. And Mij particularly is the closest to Obi-Wan.
“I’m sorry sweetheart, but he cried and pleaded to go with me. What am I supposed to do then?” Jango smiles as wide as he can. It is not the first time Obi-Wan openly scolded the Mand’alor in front of his most trusted men.
When this happens, Mij, Kal, and Silas usually just stay silent. Nothing they can do to help their leader from his husband.
Obi-Wan sighs loudly and rolls his eyes. Jango Fett might be the most formidable Mandalorian but he is also just a husband and a dad.
“Boba Fett, come here.”
“Mommy… I wanna stay with daddy,” Boba pouted from his chair, his eyes starting to get watery. It was pretty scary when Obi-Wan started calling his son’s name like that.
“No. You will go to bed. Right now.”
“Go with your mommy, Boba,” Jango tried his best to hold his laugh. His son is just too cute with his dark curly hair, teary eyed and pouty lips.
When he glances at his brothers, they are also holding their laughter while avoiding eye contact with both Obi-Wan and his victims, Jango Fett and Boba Fett.
“I don’t want to go to bed yet!” Boba screams. Obi-Wan eyes’ widens in shock. The older he gets, the more tantrums he throws.
“Oh, really? So you don’t want to go to bed, hm?” Obi-Wan’s hands are now on his hips.
Boba nods excitedly. Feeling that he might finally win an argument against his own mother.
“Well, okay then. I will just give all of my cuddles and kisses to your brother since you don’t want it anymore,” Obi-Wan said teasingly. This time, it’s Boba’s eyes that turn wide.
It might be because he is a Mandalorian but Boba’s competitiveness level is way beyond that of a child his age. He has to win absolutely everything, especially against Cal, his little brother.
He quickly jumps from his seat, abandoning his dad and runs towards his mom like his life depends on it. “No, mommy! No!” He screams and wails.
Boba headbutted his mom’s stomach and hugged his waist tightly with tears rolled down his eyes and wetting his chubby cheeks..
Obi-Wan winches at the slight pain and chuckles as he picks his son up and cradles him like he is still a little baby.
“Okay, then. Mommy will give you all the kisses and cuddles,” he kisses his son’s soft hair. “Say byebye to daddy and your uncles.”
“Bye Daddy, bye uncle Mij, bye uncle Silas, bye uncle Kal,” Boba mumbles softly as his little hands wave goodbye to the men that is now openly laughing at him.
“Bye, son. I love you,” Jango replies back with the biggest smile on his face.
“Bye, kiddo,” Mij replied back.
“You are such a mommy’s boy,” Silas teases. Meanwhile, Kal just waved back at him.
“Finish it in thirty minutes, will you?” Obi-Wan stares at Jango and smiles.
“We will, Cyarika. Good night. I love you,” Jango smiles back. Heart feeling warm and proud looking at his husband carrying their firstborn to bed.
“I love you too. Night night,” the he turned back to leave the room and gently closed the door.
As soon as the door closes, Jango resumes his meeting. “Where were we? Let’s finish this quickly. I need to go to bed.”
“Yes, Alor.”
