Giyuu Tomioka: Chronicle of the Child Hashira

Summary:

“The boy who survived — but never forgave himself.”

At nine, Giyuu lost his sister to a demon. The villagers called him cursed, mad, a liar. When they tried to send him away, he ran into the mountains and nearly froze to death. Rescued by Urokodaki, he found warmth only in Sabito — his first and only friend.

He turned ten just before Final Selection. Sabito died so Giyuu could live.

By thirteen, he was the youngest Hashira in history: silent, cold, and ranked among the Corps’ strongest. He mastered Water Breathing and created the Eleventh Form — Dead Calm — a technique that slows his heart to near-death, using the lingering damage of that long-ago frost.

But Giyuu believes he is cursed. Everyone close to him dies. He does not accept his title, nor does he think he deserves to be alive. He is a legend — but still the boy who stopped growing up the day he lost everything.

Rewritten version of my previous work. All plot points, timeline, and headcanons remain the same — just written properly, with better pacing, no plot holes, and the deeper, darker tone this story deserves.

⚠️ Content Warnings ⚠️:
Themes of severe trauma, grief, survivor’s guilt, chronic illness, emotional numbness, and child soldiers.

These will be mentioned many time throughout the fic so please just click off if you don't like it.
