Chapter Text

It goes like this:

Target eliminated successfully.

Two bullets to the head, silencer to avoid general panic among civilians. Also allows time for escape before security personnel notice target is deceased. No extraction team, only self to rely on.

Gun disposed of in public waste bin, casual, blending in with the crowd. Just another tourist among many.

Main exit blocked by sudden security checkpoint. Reassess, find alternate route.

Blocked. Blocked. Blocked.

Shit.

Security officials sweeping area for perpetrator, looking for lone male. Fake passport on-person enough to fool customs, but won’t hold up on close inspection.

Then he sees her.

It goes like this:

Target eliminated successfully.

Soon enough, anyway. Few come back from cyanide. Estimated one minute before death, ample time to escape before target’s personal guard notices.

Excused to the bathroom after poisoning drink, remove blond wig, change clothes, slip out with a group.

Planned route blocked by unexpected security checkpoint. As are the next three.

A lone woman is suspicious; why is she here? Her papers are for the blonde, a redhead won’t match. Could be excused away with a laugh, a dye job, an old photo. Still suspicious.

Need a new plan, now.

Then she sees him.

It goes like this:

A pair of assassins in a luxury resort. A pair of high-profile targets assassinated. Local intelligence operatives on the lookout for a single male, a single female. Security on high alert.

They spot each other.

She’s perfect.

He’s perfect.

Their eyes meet. Something clicks and they’re drawn together.

“Hi” he says.

“Hi” she says back.

The police are making their sweep. Both are on a time limit. They have to act now.

She pulls him in, goes for the kiss.

He kisses back, hands going around her waist.

They slot together like jigsaw pieces.

The police walk past, ignoring the couple.

They separate, but there is heat between them now. They each need to stick with the other until suspicion wears off. And yet.

And yet.

He’s handsome.

She’s beautiful.

This is the start of a love story. A whirlwind romance.

They were made for each other.
