After the Euclid trip everyone settled back into their routines Rae had won the Naval games for Bauer fortunately non of the usual suspects such as Dorothea or Lana were there to get on Claire’s nerves when she went to support Rae at the event.
The end of summer marked a new milestone for Aleah and May the twins had their first two teeth come in with it they were much more active and talkative now even though their words didn’t make sense to anyone. Autumn arrived in time for their next milestone in October they took their first steps Aleah was ahead of May physically she was bigger May caught up a few weeks later.
Aleah got up to walk to Rae because she was holding Claire by the fireplace in their bedroom the older twin even knew how to unlock the play pen letting herself and her sister out the couple were overjoyed to witness their baby’s first steps together Claire was often worried that they would miss it however her worries were for nought.
May’s first steps were weeks later Claire had been getting ready at her vanity to go out for a charity event Pope Clarice invited her and Rae exclusively. Claire’s lipstick fell near May’s leg she was playing below her mother the smaller twin picked up the lipstick got up from the ground and walked to return it to her mother Claire got up instantly shouting for Rae to
come see.
“RAE! RAE COME QUICKLY! MAY’S WALKING!” Claire called Rae rushed over from the living room with Aleah in hand.
“Aww! My other Baby is walking!” Rae dotted.
Aleah left Rae’s hand and went over to help May “They’re helping each other...” Claire fawned she felt as if she were going to explode from the adorable overload.
Melia and Dole rushed upstairs too when they heard Claire yelling they were overjoyed to have their granddaughters walking Dole had the manor baby proofed completely. Sharp objects, glass, statues, artworks were all put away or glued down, draws and cupboards were locked table edges were covered with soft resin to avoid injuries from falling and the stairs were fitted with gates on both sides.
The manor was even more lively than before the twins would spend most of their time downstairs now playing with their bigger toys their grandpa Van had made two beautiful white and gold play horses that could be sat on and wheeled around by an adult.
Ralaire was unfortunately on coachman duties she’d pull the front reigns of both horses with the twins having all the fun Melia would be playing with them most of the time even Dole sat down in the afternoons to play blocks or be used as a jungle gym. Aleah was very vocal with her grandfather she yapped her own gibberish with him a lot he replied in kind to what ever she said as if he understood taking her very seriously.
Van and Mel sent toys that he made every other week their new toy was a beautifully handcrafted little piano that Aleah loved and a drum May loved that drum any opportunity to beat it senselessly. Soon enough the twins discovered singing it was mostly off key screaming from morning until their midday nap Claire was fortunate enough to have her parents help with most of it.
Though their best time of the day was when they waited at the door on their horses or just sat in the living room waiting for Rae to come home whenever the door opened at a specific time they would waddle off to the foyer giggling.
That was Rae’s favourite time of day too being greeted by her children every afternoon sometimes they cried in mornings when she left albeit she was just as dramatic. Claire had to coddle her grown up Rae more than the twins Melia and Dole would distract them easily enough with snacks or playtime while Claire sought to Rae outside before the morning carriage commute Claire’s promises to make Rae feel better was of course bedroom related.
The twins slept in their nursery now however were getting smart enough to climb out of their cribs often assisting each other Claire nor Rae weren’t happy about this as they could get hurt. Rae lowered their mattresses preventing the troublesome twins from reaching too far up the railings for extra measure Claire had the floors padded with soft coloured foam pads.
With the new changes the twins became even more attention motivated and less privacy from Melia and now Dole the François grandparents would barge into the apartment unintentionally of course and head to the nursery at any given time of day. Weekends were the worst for the couple they wanted intimate time together especially now that the weather was cosy enough to stay cuddled in bed longer.
A particular incident had Claire and Rae on the ropes it was the couples anniversary it was a cloudy Saturday morning the twins were still snuggly asleep. Rae had opened a bottle of champagne Claire had been pumping breast milk for bottle-feeding since the twins teeth came in nursing from her breasts made it impossible now days. Her milk production was still at a good pace that there was extra for a few days in cold storage the twins usually had their bottles in the morning when they woke up with their porridge, or puree of carrots or peas, apricots, apples or anything Claire chose the day before for them to be made for their breakfast. Their other bottles were mostly for sleeping time usually at midday or early afternoon, at dinner and before bed occasionally they woke up in the middle of the night making it easier for Rae to help bottle feed putting them back to sleep quicker.
Rae and Claire were in the bedroom Claire was bent over the edge of the bed they had indulged in a glass of champagne and a light breakfast of toast, eggs, and bacon before their bedroom antics. Rae was in deep as Claire clutched biting down on the pillow muffling her moans Rae’s strokes were quick hitting a good enough rhythm after all they didn’t have a lot of time.
They were in the middle of their fun time when Melia interrupted with, Mel, Dole and Van everyone walked in even the twins were in hand. Rae pulled the covers over them as they dove into bed quickly enough to cover their naked bodies.
“Oh my!” Mel quickly shut the door.
It was an awkward rest of the day besides that awful morning Melia, Mel and the rest of the grandfathers were coming up to hangout out and play with the twins much to Rae and Claire’s frustrations they had no alone time. Even when they did they wanted to spend some quality time with their babies the ever dotting grandparents made it difficult.
Claire decided to schedule the family portrait while Mel and Van were at the manor it proved to be a mission on it’s own Mel wanted to make outfits for everyone though Claire insisted on buying them at the boutiques it took days to convince Mel. Besides the portrait Claire was busy planning the twins first birthday party Rae was up in arms at work too the next winter rotation was starting and it was huge deal Joel didn’t want to miss the party either.
Besides her mother- in- law Claire had to deal with her own mother Melia was having a hard time agreeing on Claire’s theme Claire wanted a less formal family setting however Melia suggested something more grandeur. Claire knew that the Taylor’s would feel out of place with such over the top clothes and setups she didn’t want to put them through all of that.
Every night when she got ready for bed she would let out her frustrations of the day usually lathering lotion on her arms and legs out of her irritation she would squeeze too much out and rub the excess onto Rae. Poor Rae’s face or legs had frequently been man handled by her wife.
Rae knew better than to advise or even say a word on the matter Claire didn't need that she knew what she was doing and would figure out a way to make things works for everyone however she needed to vent now and then. Unfortunately Rae found Claire’s pent up feelings sexy often suggested some sexy time however now that the twins were getting bigger they could sort of talk.
The twins yapped away to each other when they should be asleep Rae and Claire often listened to them it was absolutely adorable Claire would forget about her little troubles whenever her attention was on them.
The twins started learning things quickly Aleah could pick up her spoon and feed herself and sometimes May however she was still learning she shook a lot making a mess. Poor May was usually the victim of her sister’s generosity the little twin would be messed with juice, puree, mash Claire always made sure that one thanked the other for help before cleaning them up.
May learnt to walk after her sister however she said her first words before Aleah Claire was warming their bottles in middle of the night she used her magic to do it since it was winter she didn’t want the milk to get cold and have Rae struggle to warm it. She often woke up at odd hours to see to it that the temperature was fine however that night it was a bit cold she turned up the fire in the fire place to warm the nursery more.
She wasn’t aware that May was awake and watching her every move she had her back turned as she heated up the bottles when suddenly she heard a huff and a little voice “Mmm, mama...”
Claire turned around instantly covering her lips in shock and pride May sat up holding out her little hands calling for her mother Claire quickly picked her up all teary eyed.
“Aww, my darling you just spoke...” Claire whispered taking May’s bottle with her to the bedroom after checking on Aleah she was still asleep.
Claire laid down with May in bed then gently woke Rae with a kiss May wasn’t wasting time a sleeping Rae was her ultimate entertainment she pulled on Rae’s collar and slapped her cheek Rae woke up instantly.
“Yeah... What happened...” Rae slurred from sleep wiping her eyes.
“Rae... Look... May said her first words...” Claire whispered excitedly Rae’s eyes widened turning over to May.
“What did you say May?” Rae whispered holding May in her arms.
May turned to Claire and pointed “Mama...” Claire was crying now
“That’s right May! Well done my baby is so smart!” Rae cheered showering May with kisses she giggled.
Rae hugged Claire next “May spoke a week before her birthday and her first word is mama...” Claire began getting emotional again Rae hugged her.
“Milk...” May pointed at her bottle Rae handed May over to Claire.
“And Aleah still sleeping?” Rae asked getting up to check.
“Yeah she’s sound asleep nothings going to wake her...” Claire filled Rae in as she held May beside her while she drank her bottle.

Three days before the twins 1st birthday the new family portrait was scheduled with many problems the company that was hired were delayed due to a few difficulties the rainy weather had damaged their equipment. They had to scurry on the day to get their back ups up and running in time besides that Claire had to deal with her mother, mother- in- law, the twins, Rae and her father.
Dole’s tie was the wrong colour the boutique had messed up the order, Rae’s suit was too big, the twins wouldn’t stop fussing and refused to cooperate May ended up messing her dress with pea and spinach puree. Aleah lost one of her shoes, Mel and Melia were just as agitated both agreeing that today wasn’t the day for the portrait. On top of that the party that Claire was organising in Euclid had come to a stall a pipe burst at the beach manor flooding the second floor clean up crews were dispatched along with Lene to survey the damage.
Everything wasn’t going Claire François way she had gone out in the bitter cold that morning with Van since he was the only one not giving her any trouble. She managed to get the right colour tie and gave the saleswoman a piece of her mind, got Aleah new pair of shoes, had Rae’s suit fixed along with having May’s dress redone within in a matter of an hour she even took the portrait crew to their shop to get new equipment since their ride had been delayed due to traffic.
By midday she was exhausted and only wanted a memorable keepsake the family were finally done all dressed in their expensive clothes Van, Dole and Rae wore different shades of blue suits and ties though Van forewent the tie instead he wore a darker shade of a blue button shirt. Claire, Mel and Melia all wore lighter shades of pearl white it was almost a light shade of silver dresses in the light Claire had worked out a style for all their personal tastes. Mel’s front was covered though her arms exposed, Melia dress draped from her neck covering her feet and had netted sleeves covering her arms. Claire went with her open back strapless flared style their outfits were gorgeous May and Aleah had matching flared dressed that was a mix of the blue and pearl colours from the grown ups outfits. Aleah had her hair in red bows and a red ribbon around her waist while May had her hair down with little blue plastic headband and blue ribbon around her dress.
Rae and Claire were up front sitting on two gold chairs with May and Aleah on their laps while Mel and Melia stood beside each of them and the grandfathers behind the chairs. However the commotion never stopped Melia and Mel kept shuffling and Van couldn’t keep his eyes open on top of that the twins were starting to fuss out of annoyance.
Rae had about enough she got up with May in her arms “Everyone please can we do this portrait without all the moaning and groaning? Claire worked hard on getting this together today even with all the setbacks she still managed to get us to this point now dad keep your eyes on the clock over the mantle. Mom and Melia please stand still you two didn’t want to sit and now you’re moving around haplessly we only need one shot! Dole you’re cool...” Claire smiled warmly at Rae.
Rae went back to sit Aleah and May stared at Rae in shock they hadn’t heard Rae’s voice raise like that before even they stopped fussing instantly and listened. Claire smiled taking Rae’s hand as they finally took their family portrait after all these years.

The François’s and Taylor’s travelled back to Euclid together to celebrate the twins 1st birthday Claire chose to have their birthday in Euclid because of the warmer weather the Capital was far too cold with the snow and dull days.
Eight hours in a confined space with the entire family talking over each other being excessively noisy and nosey made for an eventful trip indeed.
The Taylor’s were dropped off first followed by the rest of the group going to the mansion Claire was to see how Lene had fixed the many issues leading up to the birthday party. Dole along with Claire assessed the work that was done over the week new flooring and carpets had been done on the entire second floor along with furniture replacements. It was no surprise that Lene had done an excellent job handling everything on Claire’s behalf besides the twins bedroom was done curtesy of Lene, Joel and Louie they started working on it after Rae’s birthday five months ago.
The mansion bedroom for the twins had beach themes and ocean creatures much like their nursery at the manor except here there was an incredible view of the beach. The twins bedroom was next Rae’s and Claire’s it was painted in turquoise along with a beautiful mural of the creatures entwining all along the room Claire was impressed at how skilled Joel was at the arts.
Claire wanted to keep the cribs since she wasn’t confident that her children wouldn’t fall in the middle of the night in a toddler bed even with railings May and Aleah would find a way to cause injuries. The room had toys and balls all over even a ball pit with blue and white balls to mimic the ocean Claire knew that was Misha’s idea. There was a tent for the twins to play in and of course toys made by their grandpa Van he made a set of beautiful ebony rocking horses with gold reign trimmings. He also made them each a set of blocks and carts to wheel around to help them learn balance when walking he did the same for Yumi with the set of wooden ducks strung together.
May and Aleah were excited to see their new bedroom they kicked to be let down to explore “The bedroom is amazing dear.” Melia was impressed.
“Certainly is unique I think this is what this place was missing all along...” Dole had a twinkling in his eyes as if he were going to cry Aleah took her grandfather by the hand waddling unsteadily beside him to play with her blocks while May jumped into the ball pit.
“May be careful!” Claire almost jumped out of her skin as did Rae whom hurried over to check if May was okay.
“She’s fine!” Rae called out fishing out a giggling May she threw a ball at Dole it landed well at the back of his head.
“May!” Rae and Claire called out together the little twin was intoxicated on excitement that she turned into a jelly giggle fit.
“Someone knows its her big day tomorrow...” Melia held Claire rubbing her daughter’s arm.
“These two have such huge personalities I would never have thought they’d be they’re own little persons I couldn’t even think about this moment a year ago...” Claire confessed as she watched the twins play.
“I know my love it never ends they always will find a way to surprise and make you happier in the most unexpected ways...” Melia spoke with nothing but love she was referring to Claire and how proud she was of her.
“Now let’s get ready for bed tomorrow is a big day.” Melia gave Claire a goodnight kiss on the cheek followed by the twins.
Aleah didn’t want her grandfather to go just yet she tried to bribe him with a book Claire read to the twins from the time we was pregnant up until now usually before bed they were familiar with books already and what it’s uses were.
The bookshelf had dozens of storybooks at their arms reach Claire figured that was another Misha suggestion she was all to grateful for Misha’s educational hand.
Dole couldn’t resist he sat down in the rocking chair with both and Aleah in his arms and read to them the windows and drapes were closed since it was night and still winter. Although it was warm during the day night time held true to the reality of winter though it wasn’t harsh compared to the manor.
Claire and Rae got settled in they unpacked the twins clothes in the drawers these were going to stay here Melia helped them she put on the covers Mel had made a blue blanket and pillow case for May and a red set Aleah. It wasn’t cold enough for thick winter pyjamas normal cotton flannel onesie were perfect for tonight Mel had made custom birthday onesies that read it’s my birthday!
“Father please don’t put them to sleep yet they have to bath and get ready for bed.” Claire urged at the twins started nodding off.
“Oh right dear it slipped my mind...” Dole got up and handed them over one to Rae one to Claire.
The older François said their goodnight and were off to their bedroom.
Rae and Claire quickly bathed, changed and fed the twins Claire didn’t want them sleeping alone tonight instead she had them in the cots in their bedroom the twins could barely finish their bottles drooling out their milk as their eyes shut.
Claire was tired beyond measure she hadn’t a chance to rest she had quickly taken a bath and went to bed she didn’t even have it in her to address the day’s events. Rae felt bad at how put out her wife was Claire just flopped into bed laying on her stomach not moving as she sighed Rae’s eyes hungrily staring down the long night gown.
“I’m too tired for that tonight...” Claire replied her voice muffled from exhaustion.
“I know you’re working so hard and I’m so proud, here let me give you a back rub.” Rae assured edging closer to massage her wife’s shoulders.
Claire lifted her head for a moment “Hmm, I don’t trust your back rubs it ends up with me getting pregnant and especially here of all places.” Claire laughed lightly.
“I would have a hundred babies with you.” Rae joked Claire raised an eyebrow.
“Please don’t wish that into existence you’re already two up on the first attempt.” Claire groaned covering her face with the pillow she was tired though she couldn’t sleep.
Rae laughed as she continued to work Claire’s shoulders, neck and lower back Claire flinched with pain.
“Pain?’ Rae asked Claire bit her lip nodded. ‘Alright seems like there’s a knot here want me to work it out?” Rae asked.
Claire nodded Rae worked out all the knots and tension in Claire’s back which relaxed her enough to put her to sleep.
Rae covered Claire tucking her in snuggly checked on the twins beside her wife they were also down for the count before going to take a bath.

The following morning Claire and Rae woke up earlier to set up the twins gifts in their cots they wanted to surprise them in the joy of birthday gifts.
They neatly stacked each twins gift at the foot of the cot so that when they woke up that’s one of the first things besides their parents they would see. Claire hadn’t overdone it much to Rae’s disappointment of wanting to buy them the entire toy store.
Claire had planned on taking some of the gifts that they bought and donating it for the festive holidays that was around the corner the twins had far too much already and were only getting more.
The only gifts Claire planned on keeping was of course the personalized memorabilia and gifts from family and friends the things that herself and Rae bought were being donated when they got back home Rae was pleased by this.
Today of all days the twins wanted to sleep in it was already past 6am their late morning wake up time Claire let them sleep longer until 8am however they didn’t stir once. Normally Aleah was the early bird waking up to start her day by getting ready with Rae in the morning though today she wanted to sleep.
Claire tugged on her robe pulling at loose threads as she waited Rae yawned “Can’t we sleep a little longer and wake up when they do?”
Claire glared “I didn’t labour for 27 hours so that all three of you could sleep through this day.” Claire smiled gritting her teeth her threat awfully friendly.
“Right, didn’t I slip on something before that?” Rae recalled.
Claire rolled her eyes “I’ve never loved and hated you at the same time so much as I did a year ago.” Claire laughed lightly.
“Oh love and hate you’re teasing now...” Rae flirted.
Claire giggled “I can’t hardly believe it’s been a year already...” she reminisced.
“Hmm... same here we are with two happy healthy soon to be toddlers.” Rae kissed Claire’s cheek as she pulled out a little gift box from behind her back.
“Rae...” Claire’s heart melted.
“You deserve special gifts today too...” Rae continued.
Claire opened the gift box to find a charm for her bracelet it was the number 1 with May and Aleah’s name engraved as the number she hadn’t wasted anytime immediately adding it to her charm bracelet. She kissed Rae trying her best not to tear up it was going to be a long emotional day as it is.
At the mere hints of affection between her parents May woke up her blue eyes staring at them she rubbed her face as she sat up Rae and Claire excitedly gathered over her.
“Happy birthday my sweet May!” Claire was first she picked May up showering her with kisses Rae was next.
“Happy birthday my happy May bear! Our big unplanned surprise!” Rae kissed May all over her face then lowered her to Claire they both gave May a joint kiss on either cheek after Claire smacked Rae’s for saying that last part.
May didn’t know what was happening but she loved the extra attention giggling and holding onto them she didn’t even bother with her gifts.
Aleah stirred with all the noise going on above her she was awfully grumpy she frowned folding her arms under her chin glaring at her parents and sister. Rae reached to pick her up “Happy birthday Grumpy Pumpkin our more or less planned and unplanned surprise!” Rae beamed as she went in for kisses though Aleah wasn’t having it she fussed pulling away.
“Happy birthday my baby... Why are you so upset?” Claire fawned as Aleah reached for her.
Rae took May handing Aleah over to Claire “Does she have a fever?” Rae asked sitting with May on the edged of the bed as the second twin chose a gift from her cot.
Claire felt Aleah she was fine “No, fever...” Claire assured rubbing the centre of Aleah’s chest gently.
“A.T.T.E.N.T.I.O.N seeking?” Rae spelt in code Claire nodded.
“Hmm... Has an idea about what’s going on... But is being difficult...” Claire confirmed with a smile Aleah rested on Claire’s shoulder.
“Maybe this will help.” Rae brought out two chocolate cupcakes with rainbow sprinkles each with a candle in the centre May was ecstatic forgetting that she was ripping her present open clapped her hands and giggled in excitement.
Claire found May’s reaction too adorable as for Aleah she shook her head when Rae presented her cupcake instead locking her arms tightly around Claire’s neck.
Claire and Rae sat beside May making sure she didn’t touch the candle “Right, May on three blow the candle.” Claire and Rae said together.
May was so excited she couldn’t wait and tried blow the candle immediately unfortunately there was more spit than air being exhaled.
“Again my darling remember for papa’s birthday blow the candle!” Claire dotted holding May’s back while Rae had her arm.
May took in another breath and tried again however this time Rae helped both parents laughed and cheered May was still happy “Mama.” May tried to give her cupcake to Claire and Aleah instead.
“Aww, Claire our May is sharing.” Rae fawned picking May up into a hug.
Claire was teary eyed at May’s gesture Aleah turned over to May and Rae while Claire wiped her eyes subtly she didn’t want Rae see how emotional she was at that moment.
Aleah was staring down her cupcake with the candle she didn’t want the candle on it shaking her head and pointing until Rae took it off.
“You are going to be difficult today huh grumpy Pumpkin.” Rae mused holding Aleah’s hand.
“Rae!” Claire shushed her wife.
The intimate family moment was interrupted by the entire François/ Taylor’s they were waiting outside the door for a while by the looks of relief on their faces probably from not catching Rae and Claire in a comprising position again.
The dotting grandparents were overwhelming Aleah far too much she started fussing to be with Claire only as for May she was soaking up all the attention her grandmother Mel was her favourite from the lot. Mel brought the twins birthday outfits two beautiful eggshell flared bow dresses with the cutest shoes a red pair for Aleah and blue for May.
Van had May up high on his shoulders as the adults discussed the day’s plans Claire reminded that Misha and the rest of the crew would arrive soon to probably help set up Claire’s gaze turned to Rae as she swayed with Aleah in her arms.
“Got it I’ll get on that set up right away.” Rae had almost forgotten about that.
Dole and Van were in charge of the fire that was to roast the meat over Mel and Melia had prepped the meat and other dishes earlier in the morning though there was still much to do including the cake.
Claire wanted a beach day however with Aleah’s mood she decided against it she didn’t want her eldest to be upset the entire day.

With the help of her mother and mother-in-law Claire got the twins ready Aleah was glued to Claire not allowing much room for her grandmother’s assistance nor did she allow her sister any of their mother’s attention. However May seemed fine with the love she received from her grandmother’s she splashed the bubbly water all over herself the bathroom filled with May’s laughter Claire occasionally looked over at May having a good time while Aleah sat still in her bubble bath keeping to herself.
Once they were changed the twins were taken downstairs Rae was busy with Yu and Joel they were pinning blue and red balloons all over the place. In the front of the dinning room the table was setup for the party behind it was a pretty banner with ‘Happy 1st Birthday Aleah and May!” written in gold Claire immediately knew that was Lene’s handwriting.
There wasn’t much to do besides the simple decorations Lene and Misha were in the kitchen toiling over the snacks and cake they brought Yumi was with Louie’s mother while the grown ups were busy. Louie was tending to the fire with Dole and Van above it was a huge ham being rotisseried Yumi’s eyes were wide it was clearly going to be the highlight of her day.
Rae quickly went upstairs to get ready while everyone settled in Misha and Lene took the twins giving Claire a small break to take a minute to have something to eat thanks to her bestie Lene had exchanged a plate of eggs and bacon for Aleah.
Aleah didn’t want to be held by anyone she started fussing though her aunt knew how to handle her Lene distracted her with bacon and her bottle. May was the star of the show today everyone fussed over her Van had been feeding her bottle and thereafter her favourite bacon and toast it helped soothe her ailing gums from all the teething.
Claire assumed that Aleah was in a bad mood because of the teething and felt horrible about it.
Misha had been busy basting the roast with Louie and Dole’s help.
Mel and Melia came around with a tray of champagne for everyone except Claire Rae arrived just in time for a glass they cheered to the twins.
Claire was halfway through breakfast when Aleah became intolerant of Lene she even refused Rae Claire ate quicker managing to finish up within two minutes.
Rae and Claire had a special surprise for the twins their final gift for today Rae held Yumi’s hand and carried May while Aleah was with Claire everyone walked out onto the patio together beaming at the yard.
The yard now had a playset with a slide and swing set a sandbox and outdoor toys to play with May was the happiest she was practically running out of Rae’s arms.
Yumi was just as excited even though she had the same things at home.
“Yumi take May and Aleah to play.” Rae asked Yumi setting May down next to the two year old.
Yumi nodded holding onto May’s hand Joel was suffering from cuteness overload “OH MY BABIES!” he fawned.
Yumi and May waited for Aleah their little stares becoming tiresome at the older twin.
Claire tried setting Aleah down though she refused to play with the other two “Oh Aleah...” Claire sighed.
Rae, Yu and Joel took the two other babies to play while Misha, Lene and Louie hung back relaxing on the patio Aleah loosened up a bit sitting on the table in front of her mother playing with her block set.
“May don’t bite that!” Rae called out.
“I got her!” Joel yelled back.
Claire and Misha shook their heads.
“It’s been a busy day huh.” Misha smiled trying to play with Aleah without making her cry.
“That would be an understatement tell me how did you handle all of this?” Claire tiredly asked.
Misha laughed lightly “I didn’t you knew exactly how flustered I was the entire day I can’t even begin to fathom how you’re two at once.” Misha mused.
Lene and Louie bad excused themselves to get drinks however had been gone for way longer than they should have Misha and Claire knew they were probably having an intimate moment somewhere.
Claire proceeded to vent her frustrations over the past two weeks with her in laws and parents under one roof Misha wasn’t surprised she was in a similar predicament she agreed that having little to no privacy made it the most difficult when living with family.
The next bit of information Claire shared once Lene and Louie returned was rather surprising yet delightful of course Lene already knew as did Rae however Claire insisted that this little secret be kept from Joel and her family including her in law’s.
Misha went to give Yumi and May snacks and juices since there were enjoying themselves on the swings in the sun Rae and Joel were more than happy to be pushing them Yu on the other hand had a sly wondering eye on Misha.
The entire friend group knew what was on his mind Claire warned “Please if you two are planning on doing any risky business avoid the third floor.” She joked.
Misha blushed while Yu giggled Joel followed up Claire’s joke with a crude hand gesture pushing his finger through a hole he made with the other finger while mimicking Misha’s orgasm expressions.
Everyone laughed except the older group Mel, Melia and Dole were inside talking to Louie’s mother while Van kept himself company tending to the roast and playing with Ralaire she was his taster.
Once the roast was done the table was set for the birthday party Misha and Lene brought out the cakes two beautifully blue, white and gold tier cakes were brought out each with little chocolate creatures on top with the twins names in gold.
Misha had outdone herself with these cakes she even made candles that were shaped in gold 1s Lene didn’t work for Claire anymore since the twins were old enough to not need round the clock care.
Lene moved to Euclid to be with Louie and Joel they had even rented a house near Misha and Yu to be closer to Yumi Lene also cared for Louie’s mother she stayed at their home whenever Louie had business in the Capital. Louie’s mother refused to move in with them no matter how much they tried to convince her she believed that they needed their own space and she was happy in her little apartment in town.
Lene being around was a great help with the cakes along with Mrs. Jur the Jur’s didn’t attend the twins birthday celebrations as they were whisked away on vacation by force curtsey of Misha and Yu.
Everyone gathered around the table to sing May had on a little party hat and was over the moon with excitement she wanted to eat her birthday cake now as did Yumi she tried to break free from Yu though settled down when Misha returned to them.
Aleah was stuck onto Claire she wasn’t bothered with cake or the party Rae set May onto the little stand below the cake Claire tried to do the same with Aleah she complied when Claire asked her nicely.
Claire made a brief speech thanking everyone for coming and doing so much as well as their support throughout the year the grandmother’s were already teary eyed as was Claire. Misha and Lene gave speeches next on behalf of their other halves followed by Dole he read out speeches from Mel and Van they were too shy to come up.
Aleah was getting agitated with so much talking that she started stomping her foot warning them of the incoming tantrum Claire picked her up knowing what was coming.
The candles were lit Rae filled everyone on what the twins did with the cupcakes this morning and especially how Aleah refused to flow out the candle.
May blew out her candle with Rae everyone cheered as did the little twin Aleah clung onto her mother tightly blocking her face from everyone “Come on darling please try to blow out the candle.” Claire urged Aleah shook her head.
Claire rubbed her back shaking her head at Rae May was all smiled tucking into her cake Rae fed her a piece her eyes lit up with glee. Rae wiped May’s face and took Aleah quickly “They’re technically the same.”
Claire picked up May she smaller twin laughed with excitement Claire felt so much better knowing that May was enjoying herself May’s aura was just different she held May over Aleah’s candle they blew it out together everyone cheered and clapped loudly.
Aleah stared crying to her hearts content because May had blown out her candle she wanted to do it now Rae relight the candle Claire had to hold the troublesome older twin over the candle until she finally cooperated.
Aleah’s round of applause were just as loud however she didn’t care for it as much as May.
Yumi just wanted cake.
The celebrations went on as they all sat for a late lunch the small intimate celebration was what Claire and Rae wanted initially they were advised to invite a bunch of nobles to the manor for an over the top party however Claire especially wanted non of that.

Festive week kicked off once they returned to the Manor decorations and snow were on the cards this year was much quieter than last year the Taylor’s along with Misha and Yu stayed in Euclid, Joel and Lene and Louie came to the manor instead. After all it was a special place for them it was where Joel confessed is love for both his lovers in the winter.
Aleah’s mood improved drastically once she was back home it was as if she were a new baby the twins enjoyed their gifts from both their birthday and festive week.
In January the twins check up was scheduled this time Claire excluded her mother she knew she had to learn to do this on her own well with Rae.
The Physician which Rae had eternal beef with for no particular reason exchanged their usual insults however this time the physician had news.
“Lady Claire it’s been a year congratulations on celebrating the twins first year... Now as we know they’re no longer babies and will need a different doctor I have recommended a brilliant one she’s the best in her field. She’s in the same building on the second floor I’ll see you soon enough for your check up I bid Miss Aleah and Miss May a healthy rest of their lives!” the old Physician wished.
“YES! We don’t have to see her in a while! Regardless she’s the best I don’t see why she can’t continue treating them.” Rae cheered through conflict.
“You do know she’s not a children’s specialist? Her specialty is women’s downstairs health besides her recommendation should be just as skilled if not better.” Claire tried she wasn’t as concerned as Rae about the change.
“Oh my wife with so much faith in these Physicians.” Rae sighed.
The couple made it to the new Physician’s office the receptionist let them right in the office wasn’t as formal as the old woman’s here toys and colourful walls were the norm.
May and Aleah were captivated by the colours.
They sat in the office waiting for the Physician there were colourful paperweights strewn across the desk along with a white coat Claire expected a mature woman with boundless experience with the same esteem as her Physician.
The new Physician hurried in through the door from behind them she had a stack of files in her arms which she clung to her chest as well as a sugar donut between her teeth.
“I’m so sorry I’m late!” her voice high and excited though muffled with the donut in her mouth.
Rae’s eyes almost popped out as the Physician took her seat clumsily Claire’s jaw dropped scanning the plaque on the desk it read (Dr. C. Archard).
“Good morning, I’m so sorry I didn’t have breakfast this morning sorta slept in by accident of course! Right let’s get to business I’m Doctor Catherine Archard but you can call me Catherine or Cath or anything except Doctor or Archard or Doctor Archard.” Catherin giggled.
Claire was flabbergasted and it wasn’t even the other woman’s casual tone that set her off Catherine shared many similarities with Claire they had similar hair, eyes and style. The differences were subtle Catherine had a less sharp nose a round chin, straight hair and was taller however at first glance they were doppelgangers.
“Oh yes where are my manners! I’m so honoured to meet you both Lady François and of course Admiral Taylor!” Catherine beamed holding out her clean hand to shake Rae knew better than to touch that woman.
Rae smirked Claire stomped on Rae’s foot “Miss Archard if I may enquire how old are you I was assuming we would be dealing with a much more experienced Physician especially for the twins.” Claire tried her eye twitching.
“Oh I get it, your concerns are completely valid see your Physician was my mentor and has taught me everything I know I can assure you both that the twins are in excellent hands.” Catherine boomed with energy.
“I think it’s fine.” Rae piped up.
“No one asked you Taylor.” Claire glared Catherine smiled sweetly at Rae.
“I’m sure that you Lady François and the admiral have a busy schedule shall we get to the examination?” Catherine asked holding her hands together.
Claire was in a huff “Sure...” she gritted her teeth.
May was first as usual she was fine no issues standing on the scale or when Catherine did her psychical in fact Catherine was really good she spoke warmly making the toddler comfortable.
Once May was done Aleah was next Claire assumed her eldest that usually would put up a fuss however Aleah went to Catherine without any issues for the first time she born had she complied with an exam. Aleah was rather curious she stared at her doctor then at Claire she was clearly more comfortable with Catherine than the old Physician.
Catherine kept paying Aleah compliments much like how Claire did to provide comfort for the uncomfortable parts Rae pretended to not notice Claire’s jealousy it seemed as if Claire François had finally met her match in her doppelganger.
“We should really check where your mother was the same year you were born...” Rae whispered.
Claire pinched the back of Rae’s thigh “Think you’re funny...”
Catherine was their age certainly nothing was wrong about that to anyone that wasn’t Claire as she questioned the doctor more about her certifications and experience. The other woman was more than happy to indulge in her life story as it turned out herself and Claire had a lot in common they both came from noble families. Catherine pursued her passion over her duty she didn’t get along with most nobles either, she wasn’t much of a people pleaser. She enjoyed good food and drink she often vacationed in the wine lands where Claire and Rae had their honeymoon in fact Catherine had a little place in the town. She loved champagne and was absolutely taken by the town so much so that she made it her second home away from home she loved art and keeping in shape she was just as skilled in hand to hand combat and of course shopping.
Under different circumstances Claire would have loved to be friends however they were far too similar she couldn’t have that around Rae speaking of Rae she kept her attention solely on May ignoring the small talk.
Catherine wasn’t as formal with her conduct instead of excusing herself to confirm her diagnosis she gave it to them straight forwardly “Good news and bad, the good news is that the twins are in excellent health their teeth are coming in wonderfully, May has picked up weight a four pounds more than three months ago. Aleah is just perfect as she is the only thing I would suggest is getting her to learn how to self soothe and not to worry she’ll be talking soon enough. Now for the bad news these adorable babies have to go home and I won’t be seeing them in two months unless there’s an emergency. I’ll give you my details before you leave I make private visits if need be 24/7 call on me if needed be sure I’ll be there!” Catherine beamed.
“Great...” was all Claire could come up with she was more shocked from the oversharing rather than the etiquette.
“Cool we can go now?” Rae asked.
“Of course it was a pleasure to meet you both honestly I’m so thrilled to be your first choice.” Catherine waved cutely.
It wasn’t mutual for Claire as she dragged Rae out of the office even though she had done nothing wrong.
The cold weather did nothing to cool down Claire’s temper Rae swore steam rolled off the top of her wife’s head.
Claire boarded the carriage with the twins only kissing Rae on the cheek from the window “Start walking I want to see you leave with my own eyes.” Claire ordered Rae to start marching to the base.
Claire had a lot to do when she arrived back at the manor she was immensely fired up that she had chosen the sexiest lingerie she could possibly get her hands on from her collection. She was saving it for their next anniversary or valentines day she wanted to have Rae in the palm of her hand or a chokehold knowing Rae it would be the latter. Claire formulated her sexy plan the entire afternoon there was much to do the twins had be sound asleep of course which wouldn’t be an issue they had a long day already. Dole and Melia were not to interrupt Claire has successfully gotten rid of them for the evening by insisting they go out to Brumett on a date.
By the time Rae arrived Claire had been all over the admiral starting with a special greeting in her sexy silky lingerie that had been see through and covered very little in the front and back. What made her even more delectable was that she wore heels as if it were a normal evening dinner the small table had been set for two beef bowls and cheesecake were on tonight’s menu as was Claire.
Rae had almost forgotten that they had children Claire bent over to tend to the fire she didn’t need to but it was worth it “How... How are May and Aleah...” Rae croaked shuffling in the chair trying to focus.
“Oh, fine they’re asleep... And my parents are out it’s only the two of us for dinner tonight...” Claire’s voice was far too sexy to be the same irritated version from this morning .
Rae confused, excited, turned on, hard and so happy.
“I see...” Rae managed trying not make her interest oblivious.
Claire sat across Rae at the table her teasing turned to Rae’s leg she brushed her heel against Rae that was all Rae needed.
Rae got up ready to take Claire at that moment she picked her wife up as they kissed way to passionately Claire had to remind Rae who was in control she unbuckled Rae’s belt swiftly with one hand while holding onto Rae’s neck.
Claire felt that they needed this they hadn’t been intimate in a while they were so busy from the twins birthday travelling back from Euclid, the festive season their friends visiting, her parents being in their business 24/7 since the twins could walk and were much more vocalised they started their shenanigans. Every other night since January began Aleah or May climbed out of their cribs by cleverly stacking pillows and blankets for height the crash pad on the floor made it so that they weren’t getting hurt when they landed outside the crib.
The night light and open door made it easy for them to escape and waddle into their parents bedroom a step across the hall the open door policy came back to bite both Rae and Claire in the ass. The twins would sneak into the bedroom and climb up into bed with them unfortunately Claire never slept she was still used to being up at certain ungodly hours.
Sometimes whenever they tried anything intimate the twins would get in the way Rae jumped off Claire a few times fortunately they hadn’t gone very far with mostly kissing and stroking.
Claire was happy that she finally had her way with Rae after six agonising weeks she had to be careful with the way they were going at it she wouldn’t be surprised if she was pregnant by the end of the month.

February brought a big change the secret that Claire and Rae held onto finally came out they had found their new home and were moving out. Of course Dole and especially Melia weren’t thrilled in the slightest they had offered to remodel the apartment making it bigger. If that’s wasn’t far enough they had offered both the second and third floors changing the entire design of the manor. When that didn’t sway the couple they offered to build a new house next to the manor or anywhere on the property like Lene’s cottage that now stood vacant at the back end of the manor.
Claire and Rae had made up their minds a while ago they had done the customary one year of child rearing in the family home just like Misha and Yu. Now it was time for them move out and be on their own with their children.
Rae was happy enough though Claire was conflicted she didn’t want to take the twins away from her parents however it was for the best they needed to start the next chapter in their lives.
The couple had spent their previous summer house hunting until finally they found a wonderful home it wasn’t the size of the manor nor did it have any fancy furnishings. It was a modest home in a centralised location that was close to the manor the Rae’s work and more importantly schools.
Their new house didn’t come with staff or anything already assembled Claire had done the twins bedroom first she kept the cribs and would change to toddler beds when they got closer to being two. The walls were painted and even had their names painted in gold on either side of the room everything had to be in two’s to avoid fighting especially the toys.
Claire’s idea for the bedroom included bookshelves and compartments for things especially shoes and coats she knew other things such as toys and other objects would be put in there.
The renovations of the house didn’t take long it was done before winter however they delayed the move until the busy season was over. They hadn’t brought much from the manor apartment save for the twins and Rae’s clothes the furniture and Claire’s most precious items such as her wedding dress stayed behind for space mostly if she were to bring everything Rae and the twins would be sharing a couch in the living room.
Other things that didn’t need to go were maternity clothes, pre- motherhood outfits, clothes from her early 20s and most of her shoes. All the furniture too stayed behind it was neatly preserved with covers and sheets including the twins nursery she wanted that to stay as it was. She had left their baby clothes and ribbons to tell them apart behind in the draws for Claire that was the emotional part that got to her when she did her last sweep of the place with Ralaire.
There were many memories that had started her life here she had fallen for Rae, felt safest, was proposed too, caught having sex multiple times by her mother and mother-in-law. Almost sterilised Rae not too long ago in that very bed, had a mass sleep over with all of her friends including Joel and Yu everyone managed to fit in the bed she wasn’t sure how all six of them fitted. Found out she pregnant in the exact spot she stood now in the nursery that was previously her office then Rae’s before becoming a nursery which they had more sex in than actual working at one point. There was spending her entire pregnancy up here and giving birth to the twins in the living room this was where her story truly started.
“Claire? Claire?” Rae’s voice rang out in the distance.
Claire quickly wicked away the few tears that were threatening to spill she pulling herself together.
“Hmm...” she responded.
“There you are it’s time to go...” Rae reminded joining in the moment in the nursery she figured what was going on and offered a loving hug.
Claire sighed “It’s not to late we can stay...” Rae offered sweetly.
Claire shook her head her voice thick from the tears “No, we have to do this... It’s our next...” she managed through her tears.
Rae smiled holding her tighter “You know since no ones here we could do it one more time in this room for old times sake...” Rae joked however there was a sting to her voice she was going to miss this place too.
Claire laughed lightly “Let’s go Aleah and May are waiting for us...” Claire took Rae by the hand they went together solemnly closing the door behind them.
Downstairs was a tear fest Melia was distraught as was Dole though he tried his best to keep his composure after many more bribes and pleading Rae and Claire left to start their lives in their new house with their twins.
