Work Text:

Katsuki knew that life was a bitch, but it had been a while since it had thrown him a curveball like that. And out of fucking nowhere? The thing was, they hadn't been doing anything unusual.

He and Hitoshi had Hanta over, which wasn't a rare occasion since the fucker was the least annoying company they had when it came to watching horror movies, good or bad, didn't matter. Denki jumped at everything, Mina cackled like a witch and cheered for monsters too loud, and Eijirou... he'd be game until he'd bite into his lip and hide being his hands and insist with teary puppy eyes that "no it's fine, let's keep watching". What a dork.

Hanta watched horror movies at the same speed as Katsuki and Hitoshi, a smirk slowly spreading on his face, a casual comment here and there that unraveled the surprise twist, a low whistle of appreciation at the real good stuff when it happened. And when instead they watched cheap, bad movies, he'd throw back his head and laugh at the ridiculous CGI, he'd done so tonight too. And Katsuki had watched the line of his throat, the crinkle of his eyes, the spill of his inky hair over the back of their couch, and he'd thought: hot. Which was complete fucking bullshit, because Katsuki didn't do hot people. Wait, scratch that, he did -as in fucked, yeah- one hot person, Hitoshi, and thank you very much the fucker was almost too much on his own on a regular day.

Katsuki didn't care about "hot", was the thing: he had eyes, just no interest. So why, oh fucking universe, did he suddenly think that his friend since their school days Sero Hanta was now "hot" on this random horror movies night?

Hitoshi was a lot more observant than people gave him credit for. Granted part of that was due to his stealth training over the years, but being in the shadows had advantages, people didn't notice him, and in turn, he was able to notice what others didn't. Hitoshi wasn’t an idiot. Sero Hanta didn't start accepting their horror movie night invites solely because it was a friendly activity, and he didn't stay just because it was fun to comment about production quality or shit on bad CGI. No, the reason was he had a thing for Katsuki, something that had been obvious since way back in school, his ass was not subtle. And yet, Katsuki never noticed, or if he did, he never said anything. Hitoshi never said anything either, yeah Katsuki was his boyfriend, but he was loyal as fuck, and Hitoshi knew he'd say something before anything came to pass.

Lavender eyes darted from the TV screen to glance at the two other men on the couch, his eyebrows raising slightly seeing how Katsuki's eyes were fixed on Hanta. Oh, what an interesting turn of events. Does he want to act now, I wonder.

When the credits rolled, their guest got up from the couch and stretched, humming slightly before grinning at them both. "I'm gonna go use the bathroom real quick, you two pick out another movie, yeah?" And just like that, it was Hitoshi and Katsuki.

"Did you not find this movie as interesting?" Hitoshi asked boldly, delighting easily at the confused look that spread across his partner's face at his words. "I mean what other reason would there be for you staring at Hanta like the cat that caught the bird?"

Katsuki's face flushed, and with how close he and Hitoshi were on the couch, there was no hope that even the blue light from the TV screen would hide his shame. Because that was what it was, right? Katsuki didn't look at other people like that, Hitoshi had been enough of a surprise, and now... Katsuki fought the urge to look elsewhere, at the screen that suggested other movies to watch, at the door Hanta might come back out of at any moment, and he made himself look at his boyfriend. Hitoshi was lit up from the TV on one side, soft lavender hair turning bluish in the light, hooded eyes dilated in the mostly dark room, intent on Katsuki, and that smirk in place that made Katsuki want to slap him just as much as kiss him. Still hot. At least the world hadn't turned upside down completely.

"Shut up," Katsuki grumbled, snatching up the remote. "He was loud. Annoying. You'll make that list soon too, I'm sure." He kept pushing at buttons without truly looking at the screen, too aware of Hitoshi beside him, the warm line of his body so close, and those eyes digging into Katsuki's mind and soul, when even he didn't know what was happening in there.

"Mm, hasn't stopped you before," Hitoshi idly commented, his grin turning smug as Katsuki's head whipped around to glare at him, "you used to tell me how annoying I was, never stopped you from fucking me." Oh, Katsuki looked so mad, like he was about to burst a blood vessel, but Hitoshi couldn't help it, he loved teasing the feral fucker. "I don't mind, you know. Obviously I'm not giving you a free pass or anything, I'm just saying it's cool if you find him hot, nothing wrong with sampling the goods." If Katsuki hadn't looked about ready to explode before, he sure did now, his withering glare capable of killing, but Hitoshi had long since been immune to those intense, red eyes. It wasn't very visible in the blue light of the TV, but Hitoshi knew Katsuki well enough to know he was completely flustered, his silence being most telling.

Debating in his head was doing nothing for him, so Katsuki opened his mouth and debated with the fucker who was obviously baiting him, but where else was he supposed to bash his head? "Listen here, you little bitch, you can shove your free pass up your ass because I don't need it, ya hear me?" Katsuki bared his teeth in Hitoshi's face, and poked his chest hard with a finger. "Whatever you think you saw, it was a glitch, alright? Maybe Hanta looked a bit hot tonight, fine, it doesn't mean I want to—" Spend nights with him on the couch, snickering at memes with their heads put together after the movies were done and still Katsuki didn't throw Hanta out. Leaning against Hitoshi while sticking his toes under Hanta's thighs, on occasion his friend taking his feet to massage and Katsuki not objecting when Hanta made him go boneless after a long day. The movie nights that included sharing dinner more often than not, sometimes takeout, sometimes Katsuki's cooking. It was domestic. It was almost like a slice of what he had with Hitoshi already.

Hitoshi's smug grin turned knowing as Katsuki trailed off, watching the way his eyes went unfocused. It was obvious what he was thinking about, it was practically written on his face, especially given how his pale skin bathed in the blue light took on a slightly purple hue, visible by how close he was to his face. A flicker of movement in the corner of his eye caught his attention, just making Hitoshi's grin wider. Time to do what he did best, ragebait his bastard of a boyfriend. "Doesn't mean you want to what? Lounge together and binge shitty horror movies? Hold hands? Mm maybe not, your palms get really sweaty when you're nervous and more exploded furniture isn't something I want to have to deal with."

"I'll explode your face! See if you like that better!" Katsuki did shove at Hitoshi, but in the middle of his boyfriend's snickers and halfhearted dodges, Katsuki's hands ended up fisted in Hitoshi's shirt when it all calmed down.

He let his forehead drop to his boyfriend's shoulder, suddenly not in the mood anymore. "I don't care if you don't mind. I don't even care if suddenly Hanta looks damn fine and yeah, even about the rest. The rest is good, what we have, and I'm not fucking that up because of a sudden feeling. It'll pass. No need to make it awkward."

"Okay, then tell him that." Letting go of all pretense of feigning ignorance, Hitoshi fully addressed the figure in the doorway, Hanta staring mouth agape at the two of them. He felt Katsuki's hands tremble for a moment before loosening their grip on his shirt, but he didn't turn around, didn't lift his head or say a word. The feeling wasn't going to pass, that much was obvious, though Hitoshi did feel bad for embarrassing Katsuki like this.

Well, there goes not making this awkward. Katsuki thanked his boyfriend by punching Hitoshi in the shoulder, before straightening up to face Hanta. Katsuki glared at him over the back of the couch. "Well? I guess you heard that, eavesdropping fuck. You looked hot tonight, I said it, okay? Can we go back to the part where no feelings were involved?" Beside him, Hitoshi snorted, and Katsuki nearly socked him in the mouth for it. But then, he talked. "You think no feelings were involved before? Oh babe.." Hitoshi tutted, before motioning with a finger to their guest still standing in the doorway. "I think Hanta would disagree with you, hm? Come on, come here. I don't bite." Hitoshi's smirk gleamed in the TV light. "No promises about Katsuki, though."

That seemed to get Hanta out of his stupor and the other man slowly made his way back over to the couch, Hitoshi sliding closer to Katsuki to make more room for him while ignoring the incredulous stare of his partner. "The fuck does that mean?" Katsuki's question hung in the air, feeling weighted like lead. "Katsuki, baby, I love you, but you're fucking oblivious sometimes." Hitoshi tutted, patting Katsuki on the head almost condescendingly. "You're gonna sit there and tell me you knew the whole time?" His tone was angry now, but not the kind of angry where Hitoshi needed to be concerned about imminent explosions. "I mean, it didn't exactly take rocket science to figure out that Hanta had the hots for you-" "Both of you, actually.." the quiet words caught Hitoshi off guard, stopping him mid sentence, his eyes widening as he turned to look at Hanta in surprised shock. Exfuckingscuse me???

"Ha!" Katsuki elbowed his boyfriend, embracing the familiar feeling of superiority in this whole confusing mess. "How's that for fucking oblivious?!" Then the reality of things caught up to him, and he swivelled to stare at Hanta in something akin to disbelief. "Wait, really?" Awkwardly, Hanta shrugged, biting his lip for a moment, the motion stirring Katsuki's brain in unusual ways, before he got a reply. "Well, yeah. You two are hot, you both know it too. Smart, funny, you name it. I wasn't gonna say anything because you two clearly are happy together, I'd be a piss poor friend trying to come between you." Yet his eyes now cut to Katsuki with hope oh-so tentative it was barely there, but there nonetheless.

"And you just weren't gonna say anything and still show up for food and movies on a regular basis?" Hitoshi asked incredulously, feeling like his brain cells were in danger when Hanta just sheepishly smiled at them both. "I mean, yeah? I wasn't exactly planning or whatever, and regardless of how I feel, I still like spending time with you both, so yeah." Well that was one of the dumbest things Hitoshi had ever heard, spend more time around the people you have crushes on, that certainly wouldn't cause any problems. Although Hitoshi had to give Hanta a bit of credit at the very least, since whatever ended up happening tonight, it wouldn't be anything bad.

It was clear from the expression on Hitoshi's face that he was still rebooting, and Katsuki was sort of pissed he couldn't lord it over his boyfriend more, but there were more pressing matters.

"So let me get this straight," he said, and when Hanta opened his mouth with a small smirk, Katsuki cut him off. "No 'good luck with that' jokes, you dick, not the moment." Hanta deflated with a "fine", which made Hitoshi snicker against Katsuki's side, but at least he could go on now. "You find us both hot. Hitoshi is fine with you liking me. I found out tonight I might like you too." If he said it fast enough, it was like a bandaid, no time for the feelings to settle weird in his chest. Katsuki just had to go on. "What now? Where does that leave us?" He arched an eyebrow at Hitoshi for good measure, since he'd been the one who'd opened this huge can of worms. Better take responsibility, fucker.

Seeing that arched eyebrow and the expectant look on Katsuki's face, how could Hitoshi be expected to answer with anything but the first thought that came to mind? "Threesome?" The moment the words left his mouth, he was being assaulted with a couch cushion, but it was totally worth it. "Seriously though, maybe we can give the three of us a shot? Let's give it a month. If it works out, it works out, if it doesn't, hey, at least we tried and no hard feelings." Glancing over at a hopeful looking Hanta, Hitoshi couldn't help but offer him a sly grin. "I'm not usually fond of sharing, especially when Katsuki's involved, but I think I can make an exception for you."

"Oi." Katsuki hit Hitoshi with the cushion again. "Sound a little more possessive while you're at it," he huffed. Not that Katsuki actually minded, but he couldn't let his boyfriend get a big head like that, his forehead then would be big enough to land helicopters on.

Then Katsuki's attention was stolen by the faint blush that had started to spread over Hanta's cheeks. It was a soft thing in the TV light, and even softer was his gaze as he looked between the other two on the couch, cushion hits and all. Those dark eyes met Katsuki's red, and he swallowed before saying "I'm in if you are."

He hadn't expected Hanta's whole face to light up at that, his smile even wider, his eyes even softer. "Yeah, let's do that." "Good," Katsuki said, and since it was all agreed on, he leaned over, fisted a hand in silky black hair, and kept Hanta in place as he finally got a taste of that smile.
