JW: Trying to make this dreadful boring case sound thrilling.
SH: What a dull work day,
the case cliché,
not even ranked a four.
JW: Hey, dream of instead:
a case worth writing for!
Mrs. H: What?
SH: That’s what he said:
a case worth writing for!
SH: I want it cryptic as a rune,
with clues that stretch my mind.
JW: A case exotic as the moon,
my readers to spellbind.
SH: I couldn’t care less where it is
or what it looks like —
My only care is what the crook’s like!
Crime, murder, intrigue,
Ooh…!
JW: Any wonder some still see you as a suspect?
SH: All the sweeter when my insight’s proven correct.
JW: That victory’s what we’ve missed most; the last case was a snore.
Both: What do we want?
A case worth writing for!
SH: I need a thrilling rooftop chase.
JW: A challenge to enjoy!
Mrs. H: Oh, how ’bout a case where you’re both safe?
I worry ’bout my boys!
Both: Nah!
SH: My brainy ways and turn of phrase will make the story.
JW: But first he has to find his quarry.
SH: Just got a text, let’s go — this one’s an eight, John!
JW: Maybe this will be the one we’ve both been wait’ng on!
SH: And when we come home,
you’ll post a tale
your readers will adore!
Both: What do we want?
