Chapter Text
Leona wondered what his brother would want with him, it must be important considering he was taken out of school just to talk. Of course whatever it is he will most likely assign Leona with some boring task or something that his brother claims is really “important” and that Leona needs to do it. Leona thinks his brother just wants to make sure he is included. But very often all Leona does is sleep it off and have someone else do it for him, it's the way he has always done it. Besides, shouldn't a King be the one doing these tasks? Not like he will be anyway, he is the second prince of Sunset Savanah
As he walks into the court room, he is met with the stares of every noble including his brother Falena. As he stands there awaiting his assignment (that he will most likely not do) Falena begins to clear his throat.
“Ahem…Leona we the court and I, your brother, have decided that it would be nice of you too…marry a “beast-woman” from Kamyaka. She is very intelligent and a tiger beastman! She will serve her purpose as being the bridge between the diplomatic issues between us and the territory called Kamyaka! Now I know how you will feel about this that is why-”
Leona was for once, dumbfounded. He was being set up for an arranged marriage? With this mysterious tiger lady? From that weird territory-province place? The one the court has been fighting to get its hands on? He snarled just thinking of it. He wasn’t even bothering to listen to the rest of what his brother was saying. He was not going to do this, he will find a way out just like he always does.
“Leona, please father has mentioned it to me, now I know you won’t like it so…we are threatening to not let you out of our sight if you don’t agree” Falena says with a stern tone, but Leona could tell his brother had worry mixed in that tone, almost like he didn’t like what he was saying.
The court looked at Leona, expecting him to retort or say he won’t do it. Leona instead nodded and walked out of the room not saying a word.
Falena looked worried, he looked at his advisor Neji, who sighed and followed suit after Leona.
Neji looked in the one place he knew his highness would be, in a tree hidden from everyone and everything. Neji looked up seeing Leona lounging about, he cleared his throat and began to speak. “Young master, what is your opinion on this matter?” Leona grumbled before speaking “My opinion doesn’t matter if father was involved, besides its fine…I guess,” Neji sighed, “Young master I assure you trying to get out of this won’t do you any good, whatever you have planned is not going to go the way you want, please be mindful.” With that Neji left Leona to ponder his thoughts, up in the tree he could feel the wind flowing through his hair allowing a clear mind for thinking or how Neji would put it scheming.
It's not like it would be terrible, the plan won’t be…bad…more like beneficial for both himself and this tiger lady, all he had to do was convince her. The plan is quite simple: head to meet this tiger lady, convince her to be fake married, leave each other alone, and all his problems are gone. He can continue his year in school and she can do…whatever she does in that territory they call a “province”. It wouldn’t be that hard to convince her right? Even if he barely knew her? He would have to hope so as he doesn’t feel like getting married in his twenties.
