Work Text:

One fine day on Animal Island, two Dodos were at Dodo Airlines.

Orville was a Dodo man in a white shirt, blue feathers, a big nose and mouth, white pants, a carrying case on a belt, and yellow talons and yellow face inside yellow shoes. And also an earpiece.

Wilbur was a Dodo man in exactly the same wear, only he had sunglasses and a headset.

And they were brothers.

No one attempted travel in a long time. It was a slow day.

Then, Yu walked into the airport place.

Yu was a Human in one of his usual outfits. Yu was in blue eyes with a blue Ninja and spiky brunette hair under his hood, only the hood was currently off.

"You wanna visit Human Island, Yu?" asked Orville, who was at the front desk.

"Nah!" said Yu. "I'm here to tell you, you have a competitor."

Wilbur walked from the hallway leading up to the plane.

"What's up?" asked Wilbur.

"Let's allow Yu to speak," Orville said.

"Remember how Kapp'n stopped ferrying people between islands? He decided to drive people different cities, in place of such a thing?" Yu asked. "He got a new motor for his boat."

"WE have an entire plane!" said Wilbur. "We shouldn't be able to lose!"

Everybody stood there for a bit in silence.

"Are you about to see Kapp'n?" asked Orville.

"I was gonna," said Yu. "But I wanna be helpful to you! Be loyal! I WILL travel to Human Island on your plane!"

Then, Yu went on Wilbur and Orville's plane.

Orville and Wilbur were by themselves.

"Nobody wants wants to fly, any more," said Orville.

"Think we should check the competition?" asked Wilbur.

"Yes," said Orville. "I'm not a pilot. People may require you. Leave me accomplish it."

"Then I'll both see to the front desk and the plane." said Wilbur.

"It's settled, then!" said Orville.

Then Orville and Wilbur accomplished their tasks.

Orville walked to the island's pier near the beaches.

"Hey, Kapp'n!" said Orville. "Are you busy?"

Kapp'n was a Turtle man in green skin, a yellow beak, green pants, blue and white shirt. He had a dark green shell and a short haircut.

"Why?" asked Kapp'n. "Aren't you supposed to be my competition? Or have you given up and need ME to row YOU some place?"

"I'M actually here to see you at work!" said Orville said.

"So you ARE her to see me!" said Kapp'n.

"You should show how fast your boat travels," said Orville. "How about to the bueies?"

Kapp'n smilled "OKAY!"

They were sailing along...

...FAST. Super FAST.

They were at the left side of the ocean, near the shore. The bueies were definitely beside them.

"I cannot believe I'm telling you this, Kapp'n," Orville said. "You are faster than myself and my brother!"

"I suppose that means I'M allowed to continue rowing others and then you give up flying, than?" asked Kapp'n.

Kkkk

"Huh?" asked Orville.

"You remember how Mayor Tortimer is funding only TWO transportation systems, at the moment? The city bus and boat?" asked Kapp'n.

"I was not told this!" said Orville. "Show me to the beach!"

"Whatcha gonna accomplish, now?" Kapp'n asked.

"I'm gonna speak to Mayor Tortimer about the situation." Orville said. "He'll sort this thing out."

"You should!" said Kapp'n. "I actually prefer my city bus rides. But I'm the fastest."

"I'll remember that," said Orville.

Orville walked into The Town Hall. At the desk was Mayor Tortimer.

The mayor was in a cane, s green and black hat, glasses, brown black shell and brown shirt and black shoes.

"Mayor Tortimer!" Orville said. "I need to discuss something with you."

Orville told the mayor absolutely everything.

Mayor Tortimer was in yellow skin,

"There's not a thing I'll be able to accomplish, Orville," said Mayor Tortimer. "I was gonna tell you soon, but I lost track of time. We're shutting Dodo Airlines. For good."

Orville was astonished! "Why?!"

"It's sorta cheaper," said Mayor Tortimer. "Airplanes cost a lot of fuel."

Orville readied himself. "Mayor, you see I and my brother are Dodo Birds, right?"

"Yes?" the mayor asked.

"We've always dreamt of flying! Especially Wilbur. But we're flightless birds. Wilbur feels free whenever he flies. Please continue to allow that dream to be real." Orville said.

"I apologize," said Mayor Tortimer. "Only, once again, I am in able to accomplish anything. The cost is a lot."

"I suppose I have to tell Wilbur the news," said Orville.

Then, Orville soon saw his brother.

Orville returned and told Wilbur everything.

Wilbur frowned. Then Wilbur raced outside.

"Wilbur!" said Orville.

Wilbur stood up at the pier. "Good! I'm glad you're here!"

"Whatcha up to, Wilbur?" asked Orville, confused.

"Watch me!" said Wilbur.

Wilbur then jumped off the pier...

...And into the sky!

"You're able to fly?!" asked Orville in surprise.

"Yes!" said Wilbur from the air.

Then he traveled downwards.

"I was reading a book on flying, for a few weeks," Wilbur said. "Your story lent me the courage to actually ACCOMPLISH flying!"

"This is good news!" said Orville.

"Let me teach you!" said Wilbur.

Orville got out a timer watch. "First, I'll time you."

"Why?" asked Wilbur.

"To show the mayor we stand a fighting chance!" said Orville.

Then, Orville timed Wilbur from one Island to another.

And was about to show Mayor Tortimer Wilbur's time.

All four Animal People were at The Town Hall.

"Well, Kapp'n," said the mayor. "I'm afraid you'll have to return to ONLY busing People to cities."

However, it didn't bother Kapp'n.

"I was getting tired of both jobs, anyhow!" Kapp'n said.

"We're the ones to ferry People? By plane?!" asked Orville.

"Yes!" said the mayor. "Have fun!"

"We WILL have fun!" said Orville.

"We'll FLY!" said Wilbur.

Then, Wilbur and Orville returned to their flying business.

And then they flew on their own.
