The Doctor still feels him, an unseen but almost palpable presence, invisible even to the telepathic mind, but still there in some deeper way that makes it tempting to ignore. The Master died in his TARDIS, not in her shell but inside of her, and by now the Doctor learned his lesson. He knows how spectacularly difficult his best enemy is to kill, he even came to expect it, the one tie that cannot be severed even as he distances himself from his people. Now, he feels his presence and wonders when he'll be strong enough to make himself known.
