Work Text:
A sudden text grabbed Nazuna’s attention, the man sighing as he closed his textbook. He was supposed to be studying, but that wasn’t going so well for him… what’s a quick phone break?
The sight of one of his favorite people in his notifications made him smile.
Nito
Nito Nito
Nito
Nito (˶◜ᵕ◝˶)
He let out a giggle, typing a response before a paragraph bombarded eyes. The quick response made his smile wider, whatever it is his boyfriend must've written in advance. It was oddly cute..
I know you’re studying today, got that big exam soon yeah? Uhmmmm if you need to study of course you should do that, prioritize school !. Always. But if you have a momentttt or if you need a breakkkk (,,>﹏<,,) I was wondering if you uhmmmm… do you want to go get lunch? (。•́ ̫ •̀。)
God, Nazuna wondered if this man knew just how cute he was.
Yeahh kinda hungry. Send loc I’ll be there !!
He sighed, leaning back in his chair with a smile on his face. Between school, work, and leisure activities he… hadn’t gotten to see the other man much. Their last date was almost a month ago, the thought of seeing him again made him happier than he ever thought he could be.
Kuro replied with a time and place, one of Nazuna’s favorite spots to eat, and urged him to get ready ‘as quickly as possible!!!!’.
Nazuna wasn’t really sure what to wear. Something casual wouldn’t be crazy; Kuro always had something to say about whatever he had on, but it’s also been a while.. He wanted to dress up a little. Alas, his eyes locked onto a hoodie. The hoodie Kuro gave him during one of their first dates in winter. The first hoodie he ever stole from Kuro.
Yeah. That looked good.
He threw on a random t-shirt, then the hoodie, then some jeans. It was nothing fancy, not what he originally had in mind, but it was something special to them. He shot his boyfriend a quick text, letting him know he’s on his way, and set off.
He arrived in front of the cafe, looking around yet unable to spot that striking and sexy sight of red hair he loved so much. Weird. Kuro told him he was already there.
He was about to call the man when strong arms suddenly wrapped around his waist from behind. Who the hell goes up to somebody they don’t know and grabs them like that?! Nazuna kicked behind him and twisted around quickly, arm in the air ready to fight. Well, ready to fight until he saw just who it was he just kicked in the shin. “K-Kuro-chin?!”
The taller man groaned as he grabbed his leg, rubbing it as if that would erase the probably-forming bruise. “Geez, you really are stronger than you look, Nito.” The man half complained, sucking in through his teeth.
“You should know this by now, idiot. And you should also make it known if you’re going to sneak up behind somebody and grab them!”
The red haired man frowned a little. “Well.. I’d hoped you’d know it was me. I’d hope I’m the only one doin’ stuff like that with ya.”
‘Ohh..’ The shorter one thought, realizing. ‘He was trying to be romantic..’
He sighed, wrapping his arms around his boyfriend in a tight hug. “You’re right, I should’ve at least considered it was you. You did say you were already here.” He pulled away before patting Kuro on the shoulder. “Still, be a bit careful, hm? As much as I would’ve hoped it was you, you never know who’s lurking around.” Kuro nodded in understanding, before holding his hand out for Nazuna to take.
Lunch wasn’t anything crazy, either. They ate, talked, stared at each other as if they were the only two people in the world… the usual. But it felt as if it was all over too quickly. It had been an hour and a half, but that wasn’t enough for them. It was obvious that both of them were trying to prolong their time together.
“Soo.. that exam huh?” Kuro started, leaning onto one hand while the fingers on the other tapped a rhythm onto the table. “Think yer ready?”
“I mean.. It’s nothing crazy.” Nazuna responded, sipping his soda before continuing. “Just review before the next unit…”
Silence again.
The two of them knew they couldn't stay here forever. They knew there’s responsibilities to be taken care of. But they missed each other. A lot. Nazuna especially, he’s been stressed lately. Some alone time with his big, sexy, cute and funny boyfriend was well deserved… and well needed. But, of course, that’s not possib–
“Itsuki’s still in France, Sena is in Florence and Isara is stayin’ the night with his lover. Wanna.. Stay over for the night?”
Nazuna flinched upwards. No way. No way they’d actually get to spend time together. Was he in a dream? Living in the dorms, there's almost nothing to do without other people present. But a whole night!? Just them?
“Yes–!” He clamped his hand over his mouth, embarrassment flooding his face at his own eagerness. Especially when Kuro chuckled at him with a smirk. That smirk he loves so, so much.
“A-Alright… glad we’re both excited. We can watch a movie or somethin’. Or.. don’t Sakasaki got a console? Would he mind if ya brought it over? We could play games.”
“Yeah.. that sounds good.” Nazuna responded, a bright smile on his face. “So I can beat your ass.” That smile quickly turned into a cocky smirk, the man crossing his arms like he knew he was all that.
Kuro snorted, a smirk appearing on his own face. “Yeah. We’ll see.”
He knew his Nito was right. He was gonna get his ass kicked.
Not long after they arrived back at the dorms, Kuro opened his door to a grinning Nazuna with a console in hand. “Natsume-chin gave me the OK. We can play a game, or he has some pirated movies we can choose from.”
Kuro snickered, closing the door behind his lover. “We’re all idols, aren’t we? Can he not just buy a subscription or rent movies..?” Yeah, they all had to use their spending for shows, but it’s not like they were so broke as to not be able to purchase movies. “No hate to him but..”
“I asked him the same thing!” Nazuna exclaimed, looking back with a smile. “He says he’s just ‘used to it’ and it ‘takes little to no time’, but… I don’t know, not like it affects me.” He sat down to hook the console up to Kuro’s TV, a smile on his face.
“Yeah.. guess that’s true,” the other responded. Once the console was hooked up, Nazuna jumped onto Kuro’s bed like he belonged there. If you asked him, he did. Kuro sat on the bed second, scooting up to lay in Nazuna’s lap while the shorter man wrapped his arms around his neck, pulling up closer.
“So, movie or game? I’m pretty comfy, maybe we should start with a movie…”
“If we watch a movie, I’m gonna fall asleep immediately. And I don’t know about you, but I was looking forward to impressing you with my skills,” Nazuna announced, a proud smile gracing his face. He scooted away from his boyfriend to grab the controllers before shuffling through his roommate’s games. Finding one, some competitive fighter Natsume had shown him a few times, he tossed the second controller to Kuro. “Ready to get your ass kicked, Kuro-chin?”
Kuro chuckled nervously, inspecting the controller in his hands. “I uh.. suppose so.”
They began the game after picking their characters, Nazuna very obviously having the upper hand. He had a technique, knew button combos that unlocked special attacks, and had practice with the character he was using. Kuro… was button mashing.
“Oh come on, it’s not that bad!” Nazuna critiqued, slamming Kuro’s character to the ground a fourth or fifth time. “Don’t button mash! It makes you look like a loser!”
“Quit backseating me, Nito… I don’t have the same experience as you.” The taller man responded with a light chuckle. “And yeah, I kinda am a loser. But I’d be a loser for you~ any day,” he preached in a sing-songy tone. It was so, so horribly sappy. But so, so horribly cute.
Nazuna flushed, sputtering and losing his hit combo as he turned towards his smirking lover. “O-Oh come on..! You’re such a cornball!” He grumbles, attempting to get back on track. But he couldn't, and somehow, in the last 10 seconds, Kuro beat him.
“Oh, I won. And on my first game… maybe I’m better than you.” Kuro bragged, a cocky smirk on his dumb, handsome face.
“Nuh uh, rematch. Now. You only won because you distracted me.”
The taller man laughed before nodding and leaning onto the other. “Alright, alright, rematch. Maybe I got lucky last time… I’m sure you’ll beat me this time.”
Rolling his eyes playfully, Nazuna restarted the game. “Don’t say it like that, makes it sound like you’re gonna let me win. We both know I should be letting YOU win.”
The two bantered a bit more, continuing their games for an hour or two. Of course, with the shorter man winning most of their rounds. After some bragging and giggling the two decided to lay back and start a movie. Deciding on some rom-com they didn’t care much for, they held each other close and let themselves unwind with some light chatter and rest.
“So.. did you have fun today?” Kuro asked quietly, fatigue obvious in his voice. The other nodded and pressed a light kiss to his head.
“Yeah, of course I did. Any time I get lucky enough to spend with my Kuro-chin is time well spent.”
Kuro grumbled, embarrassed as he dug his face deeper into Nazuna’s stomach. “And you said I was bein’ corny.”
A joking frown met Nazuna’s face. “You calling me corny now?”
Kuro shook his head, mumbling a ‘no..’ into his lover’s shirt.
It was quiet for some time, only interrupted by soft yawns and small comments on the movie. Upon its ending, the two lovebirds were already falling asleep.
“Nito…?” Kuro asked, tone sleepy and warm.
“Hm?” Nazuna responded, pulling his boyfriend closer to his body and nuzzling into his hair.
“I really enjoyed today.. Thank you for agreein’ to lunch. And our little… impromptu sleepover.”
Nazuna giggled into the other’s hair, before sighing softly. “Of course.. The break was nice. Thank you for inviting me.”
It was quiet again, the TV off and all lamps shut out for the night. But one more thing slipped through the quiet.
“Nito?”
“Yeah, Kuro-chin..?”
“Love ya lots.”
The man in question’s face grew warm, an embarrassed or flattered little grumble leaving his throat.
“I love you too, Kuro-chin. You’re too sweet for your own–”
Snores. Loud, annoying, yet endearing snores. Nazuna shook his head before shifting down to be level headed with his.. Now sleeping boyfriend. “What am I gonna do with you?” He mumbled, a content smile on his face. He leaned in, pressing a small kiss to the other’s face.
In the morning, they’re suddenly awoken by a loud slam of the door and an annoyed huff, hilarious in its familiarity. Well, hilarious to Kuro. More embarrassing and irritating if you asked Nazuna.
“Are you serious?! Canoodling and engaging in skin-to-skin contact in my dorm room? Have you no shame?!” The interrupting individual exclaimed, tossing his suitcase to the floor in aghast.
“Well– it’s not like we knew you’d be here so soon?!” Nazuna defended, looking over to his lover for help. “Right, Kuro-chin?-”
But upon gazing at the taller man, Nazuna was met with a nervous, guilty smile. “Ah-”
“I told Ryuu-ku– …ahem, Kiryu, that I’d be back this morning. Literally yesterday! I sent him a message yesterday!”
Nazuna took a strained breath, hands covering his face as he exhaled. “You didn’t need to lie to me about this guy’s arrival, you know.”
His lover made a small noise of apology, moving closer to hold his hand. “I’m sorry, Nito. I really thought maybe we’d be up ‘fore he got here. I should’ve just told ya.”
He sighed, gripping the large, warm hand with his own. “No, no it’s fine. I understand why you didn’t wanna say anything. I guess I forgive you…” Nazuna responded, a soft smile on his face as he dragged his lover’s hand up to his mouth for a light kiss.
“Oh, come ON. Refrain from such ludicrous affections in front of my poor, virginal eyes,” the annoying individual spat, moving to grab his suitcase and begin to unpack.
“‘Virginal’, Itsuki?” Nazuna laughed.
Kuro continued for him. “Yeah… I don’t know about that one, Icchan. You and Kagehira have been a biiiit too friendly lately.”
“Quiet at once!”
