Chapter Text
Why?!.... Stop..... Michael!
He opens the hotel door and starts moving. He feels the air howling in his ears as he is running through the hotel corridor, something he loved doing as a child. But now, he can't stop, won't. He feels the chill against his barely clothed body.
He can hear someone calling his name, faintly. But he is too afraid to stop to realise who it is. He is running from shame, fear, pain.
Get back here....get your ass back here! I am not done with you yet, you little slut.
Running like this is something he knows too well, he did it many times when he was a young child. The memory of it is bittersweet, something he did when he just wanted to play and feel like The Flash or Superman. And then other times when.. well lets just say, he had to become hos own superhero - and it's in that memory he is living in now.
We're just playing a game.. you like games right? Now get back here.
He reaches the elevators and stops to breathe while he waits for the carriage to take him away. Suddenly he hears footsteps coming down the same corridor he just came from. They are running fast, like he is hearing the ghost of his own steps echoing on an endless loop. But as he takes a step back from the elevators he sees that its not a ghost or the bad person from his childhood memories. It's David. Just David. He has a look in his eyes of pain and worry.
I got you now, you're mine.
But Michael does'nt remember who the tall man, is. He yelps and runs through a door to hide, realising he entered the stairwell. He starts running down the steps. All the while his inner child is screaming to run faster, he hears Davids voice again
"Cariad, stop" - begging, pleading.
He finally sees a sign on a door "Ground Floor", he runs through it. With tears in his eyes, sweat running down hos back and forehead, he throws it open to discover the lobby of the hotel they had checked in to just a few hours earlier.
He stops in the middle of the open space under the gazes from other guests and staff members. David emerges a couple of seconds later from the stairwell, crying and panicking.
They are disheveled, clad in boxershorts and dress shirts torn open to reaveal their heaving chests.
"The tall man looks afraid", Mikey thinks, "Who is he and why is he following me?", forgetting why he ran out of the hotel room in the first place. The tall man does'nt stop running until he is inches from him, but Mikey is exhausted from running so he gives up and drops to the floor, hoping the punishment for running away won't be too bad.
I'm just fooling myself, he thinks.
But the blows and kicks he is expecting never comes. Instead all he hears is someone close to him sobbing, people in the background are buzzing and his own pulse throbbing in his ears. It's deafning and he holds his hands to his ears in hopes of quieting it down.
Suddenly, two arms are around him, holding him. He pushes himself free to look at the person in front of him. He sees David falling on to the floor, on his ass, and catching himself on his hands. He scrambles quickly towards Michael again and this time takes his face into his hands. David is openly crying and shaking, but he sees Michaels discomfort so he asks the only question he can think of, to bring Michael back to him.
"Who am I?" David asks, voice thick with worry, sobbing. By now the staff has called the police and an ambulance. Mikey shakes his head, trying to look away.
"Who am I?" He asks again, Mikey is starting to shake his head again, but then he remembers, looking up at the tall man.
"David?" He says, with a small voice David relaxes his hold on his face and smiles with relief. His eyes filled with love.
In the distance Michael hears people talking and taking pictures. He knows he has done a bad thing, but he can't for the life of him, remember what. He is starting to look around at the people, and slowly comes to back to his adult self. He realises his position, half naked on the floor of a hotel lobby with someone who is not his girlfriend, rather his best friend. His lover. He remembers checking in to the hotel and walking with David to the elevators, going up to their room. But then... Everything is black.
He is searching Davids face. "David" he says with more confidence, relaxing.
Some members of the staff approach with blankets. Michael flinches when they give him the blanket. David thanks them and takes the blankets to drape himself and Michael.
"David" Michael says once more, overcome with emotion and leans in to nuzzle Davids chest for comfort. David grabs a tight hold around Michael and puts a finger under his chin, tilting his face up. The feelings in Davids eyes is saying a thousand words, of which every last one is poured into the kiss. He knows Michael is'nt fully himself right now, but he also knows Michael trusts him and he has been wanting to show his love towards the man in his arms, openly for the last 2 years.
So when everything and everyone around them becomes quiet it is almost like they are in their hotel room once more. David bends down towards Michael and puts his lips towards the shorter mans'. Michael squeals but leans into the kiss and cups Davids cheek with his hand. Careful touches that becomes more demanding before David breaks the kiss and looks at the man in his arms once more. More pictures are taken.
"There he is" Davids face beaming, his shoulders dropping, relaxing.
"Peth melys" he whispers into Michaels curls and kisses his head. Michael smiles and closes hos eyes but the fantasy ends quickly.
The police comes in with guns drawn, they spread out in the lobby and Michael takes a tighter grip around David. He hides his face in Davids chest again, as David tries to talk to the officers while manouvering them to the reception area.
The hotel staff explains the situation and the officers are satisfied with the explanation and leaves rather quickly, after getting a nod in confirmation from Michael, that he is'nt hurt and in need of help. Michael straightens up and wraps his blanket tighter around his body, suddenly cold and embarrassed. He is very aware of his surroundings and tries to calm himself by looking at Davids face.
David is talking to a staff member in the hopes of finding someone who can clear out the room and bringing them their clothes and other belongings and they get access to the personal changing rooms. The staff leaves them alone with their things and they move quickly. David is dressed and helping Michael.
"What happened?" Michael asks. David stops buttoning Michaels shirt and turns around. Michael can see his body shaking and makes David turn around so he is facing him. His eyes are red and he asks Michael not to make him repeat what happened. A knock on the door makes David tear himself from Michaels grasp and dries his tears before the door opens. Leaving Michael with his arms still stretched out.
The EMTs enter the room and much like with the police officers they spoke to earlier, they are satisfied with nobody needing help. But they talk to Michael about starting therapy and gives him a few numbers he can call.
"Can we go home now?" Michael asks, looking with young eyes at the tall man.
