CH1
Ahsoka woke up with a gasp and the filling of something gently pushing on her arm. Looking down Ahsoka sees her BD droid who she named Blue right there. Blue gave her a small happy thrill when he saw that she was awake. Smiling Ahsoka gave the small droid a pate on his head and then looked out of the cockpit window of the Y-wing that she and Rex were in and saw nothing but a jungle, a big one at that.
Ahsoka reached out with her hand to the console of the ship to open the cockpit but was stopped at the alarming beeping of Blue as he jumped on the console to stop her. “What is the matter Blue?” Ahsoka asked and Blue showed her the hologram of the toxic report of the air to her. The report showed that the air was safe for Togruta to breathe, but it was absolutely deadly to humans.
Ahsoka turned stiffly in the pilot seat to face Rex to till him to put on his helmet and to pressure it and to connect it to his oxygen tank . But when she turned back she was met with an unconscious Rex, Ahsoka could feel panic rise in her as she shook him gently. “Rex, wake up we have to go.” Ahsoka could only watch as his head limply swayed back and forth.
Ahsoka took a deep breath to stop the panic that was starting to surface and then turned back around and asked Blue, “Is there any settlements around here somewhere?” The little droid once again brought up an holo of a plank map and showed her that there was a place that was 8 klicks away. Ahsoka nodded, she could make it there it would take a couple days with her having to drag Rex and carrying some essentials, but she can do it no problem.
Ahsoka grabbed the emergency mask that only covered the nose and mouth and turned back to Rex and put it on him. Seeing that it was firmly on his face, Ahsoka turned back around and she then opened the cockpit window. The window gave a hiss as it opened and the first thing that Ahsoka noticed was that it was very humid and the second was that their Y-wing was beyond fixing; even if she did get it to fly again she just knew that the hyperdrive was beyond fixing. They were stuck here on this rock of a world or more like a moon in the sky Ahsoka can spy through the trees at what looked like a gas giant. And lastly was that the force was very strong here, Ahsoka could feel the world was in perfect balance. It was a boon to Ahsoka’s soul to feel the Force at peace and not tangled up with war. Soon after both Ahsoka and Blue jumped out of the ship and onto the upturned dirt of the jungle floor.
When she landed Ahsoka thought she heard chirping from an animal nearby, but when she looked around she saw nothing but buzzing bugs. Ahsoka shrugged her shoulders and then looked down at Blue and saw him scanning a bug that was crawling by his little legs. Laughing Ahsoka said to her droid “Come on Blue you can scan stuff later, I need your help for now.” Blue gave a beep and together they got everything together. Ahsoka then walked to a nearby tree and found two branches that would work to help make a gurney to put Rex on.
Before Ahsoka tore the branches off the tree, she put her hand on the mighty tree and sent a prayer to the ancestors. Ahsoka may not have been a big believer in gods and goddesses even after meeting the Force gods of Mortis. But there was just something deeper about the trees being past ancestors that called to her and she did not know why. Ahsoka opened her eyes and she saw something that looked like a little jellyfish on her arm. With her other hand Ahsoka scooped up the tiny thing. Ahsoka took a closer look at the air born jellyfish. The Force was strong inside the tiny creature; it felt like it was made of pure light and if she listened closely she could hear what sounded like whispering. Ahsoka took a breath and blew the jellyfish away and let it be on its way. Ahsoka turned back to the tree and after taking the tree branches off the tree, Ahsoka bowed to the tree and made her way back to the downed ship.
Ahsoka made the gurney from the branches and a tent she found, Ahsoka walked to the ship and carefully used the Force to take Rex out of the ship and laid him on the gurney she made. Ahsoka then tied Rex to the gurney. It was then that the chirping came back and it sounded like it was more alarming than before. Getting frustrated with the constant chirping Ahsoka turned to where the chirping was coming from and let out an angry hiss showing off her fangs. The chirping stopped after that, Ahsoka nodded and bent down and grabbed the bag of essentials and put it over one shoulder and grabbed the gurney and then said to Blue “Ok Blue lead the way.” Blue nodded and walked on ahead whistling a little tune as he did.
1 HOUR AGO
It has been months after the battle with sky people and the morning started off nice for the Omatikaya, even a week after the assassination attempt on their new Olo’eyktan’s life. The morning started off nice and cool with the help of a nice breeze. There food stores and medicines were stocked full to last them for some time and so it was a lazy day for the clan for there was no work to be done at the moment.
Jake himself was cuddling with his mate Neytiri, his head resting on her still flat pregnant belly. Jake purred as he gave gentle kisses to Neytiri’s stomach making her giggle at the tickling sensation, Jake smiled and purred louder at the sound of his mate’s giggle. But all good things must come to an end as Jake heard the sound of feet coming up to their home. Jake lazily opened his eyes to see Ka’ani at the door of their home.
Jake gave a small growl as he tightened his grip on his mate, how dare this male come to his nest to try and claim Jake’s nest and mate as his own. Jake stopped his growling and calmed down when he felt Neytiri run her fingers through his hair. Taking a deep breath Jake calmed his mind, even after all these past months after letting Toruk go he still felt his mind in his. Mo’at said it would take some time for his mind to settle after forging a strong bond with the great beast, so for now he had his mind and the instincts of Toruk to fight with.
“What can I help you with Ka’ani?” Jake asked after he opened his eyes fully and got off of Neytiri. “I am sorry to interrupt your morning ma Olo’eyktan but something falls from the sky.” Said Ka’ani and that put both Neytiri and Jake on high alert. The mated pair got up and hurried out of their home with Jake grabbing a pair of binoculars on the way.
Jake brought the binoculars to his eyes and looked out to where he saw the fireball. His ears pinned back and put the binoculars back down and turned to the two Na’vi next to him, “Ka’ani, Neytiri take a couple of scouts and follow the fireball and when it crashes do not engage. I need to go to Hells Gate and talk to Norm.” Ka’ani nodded then ran off to get some scouts but Neytiri stayed behind to talk to Jake. “What is it ma Jake, what are you concerned about?”
Neytiri followed her mate as he made his way back inside their home. Neytiri heard Jake sighed and said to her “It’s a ship that is falling from the sky, one that I don’t recognize.” Neytiri nodded in understanding. Neytiri watched as her mate put the binoculars up and then grabbed a pair of communicators and gave one to her saying to her “Be my eyes and ears out there, I’ll be at Hell's Gate.” Neytiri nodded and ran off to go find Ka’ani.
Jake walked the opposite direction of his mate and Ka’ani ran off to and walked to where the ikran rested and when he got there he called for Bob. Jake mounted up and took off to Hells Gate. It was a short flight to the base taking no time at all. When Jake got to Hell’s Gate he landed on the tarmac next to a Samson, and top of it was her pilot Anqa, binoculars up to her eyes as she kept an eye on the falling ship.
“How’s it looking up there Anqa?” Asked Jake as he dismounted from Bob. Anqa jumped a bit but she keeper her cool as she never took her eyes off the ship as she said to Jake “It’s both good and not good she’s trying to slow her descent to the ground but there’s pieces flying off her.”
“How far away do you think she’ll land from here?”
Anqa shrugged her shoulders “It’s hard to say it could be anywhere from ten to twenty klicks from here, maybe more, maybe less.” Jake nodded and then said “Thanks, is Norm in the control tower?”
“Yep him and Max are trying to radio the ship to get in contact with it, little luck so far.” She said Jake gave his thanks once more and made his way inside talking to Neytiri on the way.
WITH NEYTIRI 1 HOUR AFTER THE CRASH
After ending her call with her mate and telling him what had transpired Neytiri, Ka’ani and the others followed the strange Sky people and the metal creature as they made their way through their forest. They've been following them for an hour.
Neytiri found the the little metal creature quite interesting. It walked on two legs like the sky people do, with its large head going back and forth, lights coming out when it spotted something that caught its eye and it did that a lot. Once the little creature was so engrossed in watching an kenten that it did notice that it had fallen quite far behind, and when it did the little thing yelp like a nantang pup and ran to get back to the woman and climb up to her back and climbed to her shoulder staying there for only ten minutes or so before going back to what it was doing before.
The woman or maybe more like girl was also quite interesting as well. Her skin was orange with white patterns on her face, she didn’t have any hair but instead it was like white and blue vines with horns. In fact if it wasn’t for that last bit Neytiri would have mistaken her for a sky person. And the woman was strong as well to be able to drag a full grown man as far as she has.
The unconscious man himself looked like any other sky person that Neytiri had seen before. Except for the full body of white and blue armor he had on, a head of sun yellow hair and his skin was darker like he spent all his time in the sun.
Their scouting group had been following the woman and her companions for an hour and she had not done what she had done at the ship again. What amazed their group was how quietly she walked even with her shoes.
A yip from one of their scouts pulled Neytiri out of her thoughts and her focus was back onto the woman below. Neytiri watched as she put the man down and talked to the little metal creature. “Stay with Rex, Blue, I need to go relieve myself. I'll be back as fast as I can.”
The little creature now named Blue nodded and sat himself on the man’s chest. The woman smiled at Blue and walked off.
Neytiri nodded her head at one of the scouts to fallow the woman and he took off after her. “Keep an eye out for me, I’m going to go through their bag.” Neytiri said before leaping down to the forest floor before the woman came back.
Neytiri dropped to the forest floor and then crept as close as she could. The first thing for Neytiri to do was get rid of the little metal creature. Picking up a small rock, Neytiri brought it to her bow and pulled back the string and let it loose. Blue’s head turned to where the rock flew looking like he wanted to go see what it was but he stayed put like he was told. Neytiri, seeing that the little one needed some more swaying, let another rock fly from her bow. And that rock did the trick as Blue ran to where the sound was coming from. Neytiri smiled and crept on her hands and feet the rest of the way to the bag that was next to the unconscious man and opened it and started to look though it.
The stuff inside the bag didn’t have a whole lot of stuff, mostly water, food and some change of clothes and at the bag was a pad. Perfect, the pad looked really different from the ones at hell’s gate but this pad was way easier to use then the one’s at the human village. The writing on the pad that popped up was in no way English, if anything they were more shapes than letters. After going through a lot of the apps on the pad Neytiri finely found the photo album.
Most of the pictures were a bunch of men that had the same face as the unconscious man next to her, but were he had hair as bright as the sun the others hair as black as an Na’vi. One photo caught her eye, it was a group photo in it was was a man that was in a lot of the pictures a man in white and orange armor with a scare on his face next to him was an older man with red hair like Grace’s was in the middle was the women but she was quite younger, so the woman they had been following was just in fact a girl and in her arms was the little metal creature he was pure white not a speck of blue on him, next to the girl was another young man light brown hair, he too had a scare on his face and next to him was the man named Rex.
Neytiri swiped the picture and came across a video and just as she was going to press play a chirp startled her and Neytiri turned to Rex and back on his chest was Blue, his head tilted sideways, curious as to why she was there. Neytiri smiled as she placed the pad down and made her way over to him. Neytiri too tilted her head the same as the little one and then, she brought a hand up to him and tapped him on his head. The little one gave out a startled squeal and backed away from her and in doing so he fell off of Rex with a tiny yelp. Blue’s head popped back up, giving it a tiny shake, he then looked back at Neytiri and then made a sound that sounded like a growl.
Neytiri giggled at the little one. He was just like an nantang pup, thinking he was bigger than he was. Neytiri’s smile slipped as she saw in the reflection of the black disks on the little one, Neytiri saw the girl sneaking up on her while she pointed a gun at Neytiri.
AHSOKA FEW MINUTES AGO
Ahsoka knew she was being tailed ever since they left their crashed ship. They were probably scouts native to the moon, coming to see what had fallen from the sky.
When Ahsoka lifted to go “relieve” herself it was really to sneak up on one of them, hopefully the head scout. But as Ahsoka left Rex with Blue she felt through the Force that one of them was following her.
When Ahsoka was a good distance away from the others she walked up to the tree that Ahsoka knew the scout was in, Ahsoka jumped up to the branch the scout was on. The scout jumped when she landed in front of him. The native of this moon was a good nine feet tall, with striped blue skin, pointed ears, a long tail, hair black as night put up in many braids and he had golden eyes.
The scout stared slack jawed as he looked from the forest floor and to where they stood. “How did you do that?” the scout asked, his voice had an accent, but Ahsoka did not respond, she only raised her hand and with the Force she said “Sleep.” the scout just stared at her like she was nuts. “Why do you want me to sleep?” Ahsoka only sighed to the question and tried again and put a little more force into the Force suggestion. “Sleep.” The scout didn’t talk this time as he could only blink rapidly and shake his head, ears falling back as if drowsy, but still he did not go to sleep. “Third time the charm. Go to sleep.” Said Ahsoka for a third time. And this time he fell like a rock. Ahsoka caught him before the scout fell out of the tree and then leaned him on the trunk of the tree.
Ahsoka jumped back to the forest floor and took out one of Rex’s blasters from the hip holsters and made sure to set it to stun. Ahsoka also made sure to stay low to the ground as she made her way back to where she had left Rex and Blue. Ahsoka made it back to Rex just in time to see a female scout put Ahsoka’s pad back in her bag and crawl on her hands and feet to both Rex and Blue.
With the scout’s back turned to her, Ahsoka slowly walked up behind the scout, her Blaster up. Ahsoka could hear the scout giggle as Blue fell off of Rex’s chest. When Ahsoka was close to them she could see the scout start to stiffen, her ears pinning to her head and her tail flicking aggressively. One of the scout's hands starts to move to her waist and Ahsoka could see that on her hip was what looks like a dagger there. “Don’t even think about it. Hands where I can see them.” Ahsoka said not taking her eyes off her hands.
Ahsoka could hear a growl coming from the scouts throat and Ahsoka growled right back at her. The scout stopped growling as she put hands to the side and turned around to face Ahsoka. There was a snare on the scout’s face, one side of her lips was lifted up, a long fang was showing. Ahsoka watched as the snare turned into a smirk as the scout then let out two sharp yelps. From the trees seven more natives came down, one of them being the scout who she had just knocked out. All of them had bows amid her way, Ahsoka took out the second blaster and raised both to the other scouts and amid at the others. And the scouts had raised their bows to Ahsoka.
“Drop or I cut.” Said a voice. Ahsoka turned to the voice to see that the scout had moved away from her when Ahsoka had taken her eyes off her and now the scout held her dagger to Rex’s throat. Ahsoka hissed at the scout and the scout hissed right back. Ahsoka looked all around her, she was outnumbered, even if she got some of them she would still get an arrow somewhere she did not want one. A nervous chirp had Ahsoka looking down and she saw that Blue had huddled next to Rex.
Ahsoka could feel her hands start to shake as she took in a big breath and let it out as she dropped the blasters from her hands. The female scout jerked her head and a big male came up to Ahsoka and forced her to her knees and then binds her hands together with rope, ‘How old school.’ Ahsoka thought, the female picked up the blasters from the ground and put them in Ahsoka’s bag and handed the bag off to the scout that Ahsoka knocked out. Ahsoka was fascinated that the scout recovered so fast.
“Take this to my mate, he is at the sky people village.” Said the female to the scout in a language that Ahsoka did not understand and the scout nodded and let out a call and from the trees came a large winged beast and Ahsoka saw that it had a saddle on it. The male tied the bag to the saddle. When he was done, the scout came back over to the female and said to her, “Neytiri she did something strange to me.”
“What did she do?” The female asked as she turned and glared at Ahsoka. But Ahsoka did not cowered at the woman’s gaze.
“She told me to sleep.” The male said and the others laughed at what he said. “No, do not laugh. And before she told me to sleep the girl jumped from the ground to the branch I was on. And the first time she told me to sleep nothing happened, the second time I was dizzy and drowsy and the last time I fell asleep for a minute. I tell you this, that demon is a witch.” The male said before storming off to his mount and Ahsoka watched as he took his thick braid from the back to the front and seemed to plug it into the beast before flying off.
“Ka’ani take the male and make hast to the sky people village. I will take the girl and her metal creature.” The female said to the big male holding onto Ahsoka’s shoulder. The female turned to the tree line and whistled and from the trees a six legged beast came into the clearing.
The female grabbed Ahsoka by her upper forearm and lifted her to her feet and started to drag Ahsoka to the beast. Ahsoka turned her head to look for Blue and she found him hiding in a hollow log.
“Blue to me.” Ahsoka called to her droid.
Blue squeaked and ran to Ahsoka and leaped into her arms and she held him close to her chest to keep him safe as best as she could with her bounded hands. When they got to the six legged beast the woman grabbed Ashoka by both her forearms and lifted her up like she was a bag of chips and placed her on the beast and then got on herself. And Ahsoka watched as she too took her braid and plugged into the beast’s antenna, Ahsoka could feel the animal stiffen before relaxing, though the Force she could feel both of their Force signatures merge together loosely like a loss knot.
The women and three other scouts took off in the same direction that Ahsoka was already going. Ahsoka tried to hold on with one hand holding onto Blue and the other holding onto the base of the beast’s neck. But was hard to do with her hands tied together. Ahsoka was about to slip off the mount when she felt the hand of the scout grip Ahsoka’s shirt and straitened her up and then the scout kept her hand around her middle.
Their group kept up the fast gallop that the beasts were going; it only took one hour to get to where they were going, where it would have taken Ahsoka at least two days to get here. Ahsoka looked confused as they walked though an opened metal gate and onto an air field. There seemed to be many ships here. There was no one here taking care of them, in fact there seemed to be no one here at all. The place looked run down. There were plants blooming though concrete and vines crawled up walls and fences. Then she saw her ship being looked over by a group of humans. They were looking at her ship as if they had never seen one like hers before. “Hay! Keep your hands off my ship!” Ahsoka yelled at the humans, and they turned and stared wide eyed at Ahsoka as if they had never seen a togruta before.
“Hey, are you sure we are in the right place?” Ahsoka asked as she turned her head to look at the woman behind her. The scout said nothing to Ahsoka only kept her eye forward as she guided the beast.
All of the beasts walked to what Ahsoka thinks was the back of the place, this area was more maintained there was a garden, an obstacle course and a hut with a thatched roof and Ahsoka could just make out some blue bodies in there. Their group stopped and the natives dismounted their rides. The woman reached up and grabbed Ahsoka and brought her down and put her on the ground. The scout put her hand on Ahsoka’s shoulder and guided her to an orange door.
When they walked through the double doors the four natives grabbed masks, the woman put one on around Ahsoka’s neck and they headed off again. They walked down many halls before coming to a mass hall. Before they entered Ahsoka heard a familiar voice speaking “This is Master Obi Wan Kenobi. I regret to report that both our Jedi Order and the Republic have fallen with a dark shadow of the Empire rising to take their place. This message is a warning and a reminder for any surviving Jedi. Trust in The Force. Do not return to the Temple…that time has past. And our future is uncertain. We will each be challenged. Our trust. Our faith. Our friendships. But we must persevere. And in time, a new hope will emerge. May the Force be with you, always.”
When they walked inside Blue jumped out of Ahsoka’s arms and ran to hide underneath a table. But Ahsoka could only stare at the hologram of her grandmaster Obi-wan, who disappeared from the table that Ahsoka’s pad was on. A push on her shoulder brought Ahsoka back to the here and now as she looked up at the group of humans and the other scouts from before and a new one. But there was something different about him, Ahsoka just couldn’t place why. There was only one person missing.
“Where is my captain?” Ahsoka asked. Many of the humans spooked when she asked her question. The tall lanky man with a big nose steered at her wide eyed, jaw slack like the first scout she came across who now stood next to the unknown male.
The male that was obviously the leader cleared his throat and then said “Your knight in shining armor is in medical getting checked over. But first we got questions for you.”
“Like who and what I am and where I came from?” Ahsoka sassed, making the female holding her shoulder hissed and shaked her a little and said “Hold your tongue, he is the Olo’eyktan of the Omatikaya. You will show him respect.”
“Ma’Neytiri be calm, she’s just a kid.” Said the male as he nudged the lanky man and the human walked to them with a chair.
The human man sat the chair behind Ahsoka and the woman pushed Ahsoka down to make her sit in it. The woman then walked to stand next to the male, taking a breath from her mask. Through the Force Ahsoka could feel both of their signatures rapping around the other and a third one gently trying to find a place with them. Now Ahsoka felt like a piece of shit for pointing a blaster at a pregnant woman.
“Now let's start with your name.” The male said, cocking his head and raising an eyebrow.
