Chapter Text
Naruto looked out at the streets from his shitty apartment, thinking over the years since the fourth great ninja war. He defeated Kaguya, restored the ninja world, got alliances with the other villages, he was supposed to be a hero, he was not. Sasuke was named sixth hokage, he stripped Naruto of his rank and status, stole his clan's compound, had his wife slaughtered before his very eyes, and now marches the villagers to his doorstep to finally kill the 'demon'. He couldn't help but laugh at the sheer absurdity of the whole situation as they broke down his door. He continued laughing as they dragged him to the execution platform. Sasuke began this elaborate speech about finally cleansing the world of the demon filth. Naruto looked out into the sea of people, only the rookie nine were trying to stop this, Sakura looked at the man she once loved like he was a monster. He then looks into the sky, the weather began raging, tornadoes, earthquakes, tidal waves, it was as if the very earth itself was angry this was happening. As Sasuke brought down his sword, one thought ran through Naruto's mind [finally, my beloved wife, my Hina, we'll be together again.] "No!"
someone yelled and the world stood still.
From the heavens, came an elegant woman wearing a white dress. She hugged Naruto before snapping her fingers and the rest of the world disappeared. Naruto opened his eyes to see the woman hugging him, bawling her eyes out, apologizing the entire time. After a few minutes, she finally calmed down enough to explain herself, she is Kami, Goddess of the world. She choose Naruto to be the one who saved the ninja world because she believed in him, but this was not what was supposed to happen.
"Naruto, sweetheart, I'm not going to allow this to happen any longer. I'm putting my foot down, hard." Naruto looked at her for a moment, then looked down sadly "so you're going to remove me from history altogether right?" Kami shook her head and hugged him gently "no sweetie, no. I'm going to reverse time, allowing you to keep your memories, and fix things properly this time." Naruto looked at her in shock "make sure to tell Sarutobi about everything, especially Sasuke's entitled behavior and the civilian council's arrogance."
Naruto nodded as the area erupted into bright white and when it dead down, he saw the old man, Sarutobi Hiruzen staring at him in a hospital bed. "Ah, Naruto, .y boy. Glad to see you're awake. Please forgive the villagers, they're just fearful of what they don't understand." Hiruzen said trying to keep Naruto loyal to the village. Naruto looks at his hands, realizing he's about six, possibly seven years old currently. He looked at Hiruzen and simply said "no, not this time"
Hiruzen blinked, looking at Naruto as if he'd never seen him before, then he notices the look on Naruto's face, it was the look of someone who'd seen too much "Naruto, what's happened to you my boy?" Naruto looked at him then explained everything, the suicide missions, the lack of training, the civilian council stealing his clan's funds and compound, Sasuke's execution. Hiruzen listens, he couldn't believe he'd allowed this to happen, many people said he'd gone soft over the years, he just never realized how soft that was.
"Naruto, I'm so sorry, I never wanted this to happen. I never wanted you to suffer like that. I thought I was protecting you, seems I only doomed you." Hiruzen said looking at his hands, tears rolling down his face. An Anbu came out of the shadows, questioning whether or not Naruto was telling the truth "if my father, Minato Namikaze, heard you ask that, he'd have you strung up by your headband." Hiruzen looked at Naruto in shock, no one was supposed to know who Naruto's father was.
The Anbu was sent back to his post and told he'd be punished if he did that again. Hiruzen promised to make this right "we'll see old man, this village has hurt me greatly, and I'm not sure if I'll ever trust them again." Hiruzen nodded at this, he knew regaining Naruto's trust would be difficult. Naruto was taken to his clan's compound by Uzuki Yuugao, Anbu name Neko. Hiruzen however, called a council meeting, the shinobi council arrived promptly, but the civilian council greatly took their time and behaved as if Hiruzen calling this meeting was an inconvenience.
Hiruzen looked at them with scrutinizing eyes, Naruto explained their arrogance and entitlement, but actually seeing it openly was staggering. Once everyone had sat down, Hiruzen looked around the room, then unleashed a massive amount of Killer Intent, so much the walls began cracking as will as the floor. Everyone looked at him like the grim reaper had descended and was ready to take all their souls. After a few minutes of this he stopped "now that I has everyone's attention, I want to discuss a serious problem that's happened." Hiruzen said because explaining that Naruto was losing his fate in the village and greatly thinking about leaving.
The civilian council thought it was great that the 'demon' was leaving, but the shinobi and elder council knew the problem with that. "Hiruzen, if that boy leaves, other villages will invade in a heartbeat. Without a Jinchuriki, we'll be doomed!" The male elder said, I don't know his name and don't care to look him up, he won't be around too often for me to change that. Hiruzen nodded "that's why I'm making sure that doesn't happen." Danzo, the old war hawk, decided now was the perfect time to speak.
"Hiruzen, I think now is the time. Give him to me and I'll train him into the perfect weapon for the village." Danzo said secretly smirking, only to gasp a moment later, Hiruzen stabbed him right through the heart. No one moved, no one breathed, never had anyone Hiruzen, The Professor, to kill anyone in cold blood. He looked around the room "Danzo had done several things to warrant that, falsifying inform, grave robbing, ROOT, he's crimes are numerous, and he had plans to do worse. Things are going to change in the village, and! I! Mean! That!" Hiruzen said glaring at the civilian council, who swiftly realized that they're ride to easy street just crashed.
